Judas is obvious. It's canon (except for the kiss part. There should've been a KISS, dammit).

Cain is not an obvious choice. It both works and doesn't work. The Council may be the favored son, but Wesley doesn't kill it. BUT he has to leave it and make his own way (wanders the earth in punishment). Connor may be the favored son, but it's not like Wesley endangers him out of jealousy. Angel may be the favored son, *and* we can argue Wes is jealous of him, but he saves Angel after he condemns him. Anyway, what I'm trying to say is BOTH the way the story fits AND doesn't fit says something about the character, things that aren't obvious and don't spring to the surface naturally. That's the genius of this.

And I only give fb for good stories, sorry ;o)
