Some great lines in this, Laura. I especially liked this:
How the fish's eyes rolled back, covered in a white membrane. How God really didn't like people to do for themselves.
You really capture Gunn's despair and self-loathing in that phrase. And the religious kink always does it for me. >:} Lovely job.
