1. my laptop screen shorted out last night (I'm hooked into a monitor like it's 1998.) I'm reluctant to take it in to get fixed because COMPUTER! I need to look around and see if I can't just find a decent LCD screen to replace it and do it myself. (Fun fact: I used to build computer systems. I'm all A+ certified and stuff.)
2. I've had to kick my husband out of our bedroom for snoring. While I like sleeping diagonally, this is a short-term solution. Time to get another one of those mouth things they advertise on late night TV (they really work, they just have to be replaced every year)
3. Glee's recap is the one where Brittany takes over Rachel's look and becomes the most fashionable teen in the world. Ahahaha. Also, the day's cocktail is a redo on the Old Fashioned. It's my husband's most favorite cocktail.
4. Tomorrow: Blame it on the Alcohol. Oh, the joy in that episode. (And I wonder if I should be linking these on the Kurt/Blaine comms? Thoughts? Opinions?)
5. it is GLORIOUS outside.
6. I'm having drinks tonight with [livejournal.com profile] lynnenne, who is in town on business. YAY. I need a night out, for sure. Blackberry mojitos: come to me.
7. now I want guacamole and I am completely surrounded by a lack of guacamole. SAD FACES.
8. oooh, lunch time! I GO IN SEARCH OF AVOCADOS.
9. Also, I am in need of more fic after reading [livejournal.com profile] flaming_muse's epic story of how people treat Kurt differently, not because he's gay (Blaine gets treated another way entirely) but because of him. It's a wonderful story, if you've not read it yet.

sometimes I want to bash my head against the wall and say JFC IS THERE ANYTHING SHE *CAN'T* do?

your abilities make me feel so inadequate somedays, which is clearly my issue but still.

smart
sexy
funny
homemaker extraordinaire
gardener extraordinaire
mother extraordinaire

and that's just the tip of the iceberg.

::sighs::

can I be you when I grow up?

[identity profile] stoney321.livejournal.com 2011-09-08 06:50 pm (UTC)(link)
YES. SHAVE. My armpit hairs are down to my navel. I'm waiting for my navel hairs to grow out so I can braid them together into a hair rainbow.

I SUCK AT MOST THINGS PLEASE. also? I have hummus drying on my boob, so there's that.

*shakes her fist at your monitor* Work, damn it! You have a job to do!

I need fic toooooooooooooo. I find when I finish a fic I need to devour something else to fill up my word bank before I start writing again. I will probably have to re-read an old favorite, because I'm picky even on a good day and I'm sick so I'm like HULKSMASHCLOSEWINDOW today at the first sign of something that irks me.

I did, however, take the random ten minutes I had before going to pick up the museling to watch THE KISS from OS and the Lima Bean scene from "New York," both of which perked me up enormously. OH MY GOD I LOVE THEM SO MUCH. I am jealous of you having to watch Glee for recaps. Oh, sigh, if you HAVE to... ;)

[identity profile] stoney321.livejournal.com 2011-09-08 07:47 pm (UTC)(link)
I knooooooooow!!! *cry*

Ooooh, I am reading a cracky (but redonkulously hot) fic where Blaine is a bad boy. WHAT IS HAPPENING I DON'T EVEN. (rainjoyswriting)

Oh, that is excellent medicine, I must say. I LOVE THEM SO MUCH TOOOOOOOOO. <3 <3 <3

[identity profile] flaming-muse.livejournal.com 2011-09-08 07:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, yeah, I liked that one, and I wasn't into the bad boy Blaine trope when it went 'round. But that one was really solid. I actually still have a tab open somewhere to read it again. Perhaps today is the day!

Your icon reminds me that somewhere there are yards and yards and yards of film (do HD cameras use film?) of all of the takes of Kurt and Blaine kissing. I would pay a squajillion dollars for them.

(Oh, and I should say that mr. muse has sleep apnea and snored like the dickens until he got a CPAP machine. Now all is blissfully quiet!)

hahahahha, I was thinking the SAME THING earlier today, rewatching a clip where Chris mentions there were something like EIGHTEEN takes and I had to catch my breath and focus my eyes again. LOL.

A thing that helps with snoring? Please tell me more? Because I snore so badly I wake myself up some nights, and threatening myself with kicking me out of the bedroom hasn't helped, I see right through it every time.

[identity profile] stoney321.livejournal.com 2011-09-08 07:45 pm (UTC)(link)
OMG. It's... gah, it's a rubber mouth piece that draws your jaw forward and opens up your palate so you don't snore, and I can't think of the exact name, but it was like HEAVEN SHONE DOWN UPON ME.

[identity profile] flyingichthyo.livejournal.com 2011-09-08 10:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Aaahh, Stoney. I've been living like your #1 for a couple of weeks now. Hooked up to my old moniter! I ordered a new LCD screen on eBay a couple of days ago, and it should get to me tomorrow. Wish me luck! (Good luck to you, too.)

[identity profile] stoney321.livejournal.com 2011-09-09 08:34 pm (UTC)(link)
This weekend, Imma see if I can swap it out. GOOD LUCK!!

[identity profile] flyingichthyo.livejournal.com 2011-09-10 10:50 pm (UTC)(link)
OMG Stoney, you don't wanna whip up a short tutorial, do you? Or just some tips for DIY? I've found a website that shows how to do it, but it doesn't say anything about grounding yourself (what even is that) or what all not to touch. I'm just really scared to do this. :( Here's what I plan on going by: http://www.laptoprepair101.com/laptop/2007/02/03/repair-notebook-lcd-screen/

90 degrees but it is dry and sunny and beautiful. Also I had an awesome shrimp Po-boy for lunch that was the best thing I've had to eat that I hadn't made myself in forever! Po-boy truck in a deserted farmer's market for the win. Thank you, Yelp.

The avocados have been looking very sleepy around here, so I broke down and bought a haas...let's see if I dislike them as much as I remember (too watery).

What's your mister's old fashioned recipe? I made grenadine months back and I have plenty of rye whiskey and the mister is going to see a blues legend tonight. Maybe I need to mix a couple cocktails and watch the last season of "Mad Men."

[identity profile] stoney321.livejournal.com 2011-09-09 08:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Mmmm, shrimp. I love a good po-boy. I love a good meal I don't have to make (and clean up after) as well.

Avocados! i've not had to go to haas yet either, hopefully a better shipment will hit you.

If you click the link to the glee recap, it's right at the top.

Did you read the Big Chillish piece from the Klaine Big Bang? It's um.... here.

Sooooo good.

[identity profile] stoney321.livejournal.com 2011-09-09 08:34 pm (UTC)(link)
So.... I hadn't until last night. THANK YOU FOR THE REC, omg.

If a person is snoring so loudly that it's becoming a problem, they should actually consult a doctor and be evaluated for the possibility of sleep apnea. Untreated sleep apnea can cause permanent heart/lung damage, so this is not something that should be ignored or viewed as just an inconvenience. It is potentially life threatening.

Sign me, the person with sleep apnea who fell asleep at the wheel and wrecked the car- common with sleep apneics- and has pulmonary hypertension and cardiomegaly from sleep apnea.

Bless your heart! My husband has just put on a few pounds from drinking beer at the pool, and as a result he snores. Once he gets back into regular workouts, it goes away. In the meantime... UGH, NO MORE SNORING, HONEY!

It's awful how dependent we are on these electronic monsters, to the point where doing without one for a few days seems like an eternity! I hope you find a workable solution to the screen issue -- best of luck with the repair.

We're getting new carpet next week (yay!) but that means we have to disconnect the computer, TV, all electronics for two days (boo!).

Glad to hear that the weather has improved for you. Enjoy!

[identity profile] stoney321.livejournal.com 2011-09-09 08:38 pm (UTC)(link)
THere isn't much in this world that frustrates me like technology failing. Oh, good luck with the new carpeting!! Good time to do it - you can leave the windows open so you don't have those fumes triggering any migranes. *hugs hugs hugs*

You were already my favorite LJ to read, and now that I know you're a fellow techie you're even more my favorite. :D

I must find this snoring apparatus and give it to my roommate's husband. We can hear him through walls! LOL

OLD SCHOOL TECH, YO! I went from building computer systems to repairing them to software to finally being a server farmer (ha) and a data architect. I'm n37dc073!!
