Glee last night made me incredibly happy. (Link goes to recap/discussion post.) This stupid story that I've been writing since the end of April (good god) actually has a moment in the beginning that happened on this episode. Prescient? LOL, no, there just was only one logical conclusion for a certain song to express a certain emotion. /zips lip to avoid spoilers.

Speaking of stories, did all of you Gleeks on my flist see that [livejournal.com profile] flaming_muse is posting a continuation to Near Misses? Because it starts here, is 5 parts, and #2 went up today. She's worked her tail off on it, so be lovely and tell her you like it, if you did.

There is the annual Love Meme up and running, and you should put your name there AND SHARE THE LINK so I can secretly send you praise! (I have only ever participated in these - meaning, putting my name in, I LOVE to leave comments to people - one time and was incredibly embarrassed to do so, but you know what? Screw that. I could use nice things said to me this year. Just if you feel so inclined.) <3

NOTE TO PEOPLE REPLYING ON THOSE THREADS: be sure that you hit the REPLY link under the person's name and not the "leave a comment" link. Because then there's an anonymous comment to the main post that no one knows who it belongs to. I always get sad when I see orphan comments, knowing someone didn't get their message. :(

We get to have a nice, long visit with The Boy tomorrow, so we're driving down tonight in order to have the whole day with him, before having to drive back tomorrow night. I need to find a Sally Derg-sitter to let her go potty in the morning, make sure everyone's packed up, make a million phone calls (true story: I loathe the phone) and transfer the twenty Sterek stories I dl'd off the AO3 to my Kindle. And THANK YOU for your recs the other day! <3
Wait, no, I love it.

Whatever, people too cool for Glee, I love it and I will go down with this ship. And I will put my hands up...in..surrender. Recap! No spoilers here on LJ, (and NO SPOILERS FOR UPCOMING EPS ON HDJM) but just know that I was a in a glass case of emotion last night.

In other news, I am writing again, yay! I know that doesn't seem like a big deal, but I literally would stare at a page for hours and did that for months. Gee, I wonder if I had any stress to deal with.... HEY I GET TO VISIT MY BOY TOMORROW and I am pretty jazzed about that. The whole family is driving down again to have an afternoon of fun and therapy (it's fun, I promise) and that also makes me happy.

OH. We got hit by crazy amounts of spam this week at HDJM, and as a result I had to seriously tighten the screws on traffic controls. That means that you might have to re-register to comment, but that's just an extra click, I promise. Don't let that deter you!

(omg, guys, I spend so many hours/dollars keeping that site running, and the writers spend so much of their free time writing and commenting because they love sharing their fandoms with you. You sharing links, commenting, liking, erm, tipping so I can send them the money* is just an awesome thing to do. You obviously don't HAVE to do any of those things, but it's lovely when you do.) <3

*I do not keep any money for myself, it all goes to paying the hosting costs, etc., or goes directly to the writers. Holiday season is upon us, and what an awesome gift to give them! Not me, I keep nothing.
GLEE. (Shut up, I don't judge you for YOUR fannish loves, and I still love this show.) I AM IN A FIGHT WITH THE SHOW, THOUGH.

Guys. GUYS. The recap is here, and I try to make SENSE of that one particular issue (not saying for those of you that haven't watched it yet) and just - come talk to me about it. No ugliness, okay? Let's try and figure things out.

:(

I think there were some amazing moments in that ep, I really do. And I think that Ryan Murphy is stretched too thin and didn't give us ALL THE WORDS.

Booze, cheese, and sad movies are in store for me tonight. I feel like Joey staring at the rain screen. (lol)

FOR NON-GLEE READING, There is also TORCHWOOD and SUPERNATURAL on HDJM.
-because the universe hates me. So I'm going to be woefully behind on many things, including replies.

First priority was to get the Glee-cap up, and it's HERE and don't make my hair-tearing for naught, read, link, like, talk. :D I LOVE SARAH JESSICA PARKER. (I get sad on her behalf when people are assholes about her. She's lovely! And very talented. I'm no Sex and the City fan, but I'm a fan of hers. Square Pegs! COME ON.)

Also, I got off a Facts of Life joke because the kids are all about Mrs. Garrison, right?

...right?

Remember: HDJM is for people who actually LIKE THE SHOWS WE TALK ABOUT. Take the negative hate to TWoP or what have you. It's spoiler free and squee-filled. you can be critical, but you can't be a jerk.

Okay, updating all of my drivers to make sure I don't need a new WLAN card. =/ Technology sucks when it fails. <3 Have a LOVELY day, gang.
I'm now typing one-handed because MAN AM I HAPPY. ...that sounds like a dirty joke.

First! Torchwood fans, we're continuing with the rewatch/discussions at HDJM with 1.03 - Ghost Machine. Come support our newest writer with likes and comments. :)

Second, here is Glee's recap is up for Britney 2.0, and as always it is a FUTURE SPOILER FREE HAPPY PLACE. There are obviously spoilers for the episode, as it's a recap, but nothing future beyond the promo.

...which leads me to this, because I got a few PMs last night. POTENTIAL SPOILERS IF YOU DID NOT SEE GLEE'S 4.3 PROMO UNDER HERE. )

Okay, splitting headache and I need lunch. HAVE AN AMAZING WEEKEND FILLED WITH DELICIOUS THINGS AND WONDERFUL ACTIVITIES! :)

GLEE!!

Sep. 14th, 2012 09:58 am
No regrets, just love. My recap is up, there are a lot of Mean Girls references, and overall I am very excited about this season. COME TALK TO ME! A reminder that this is a place for people who love the show - not love to hate the show - to talk fannishly. And it is SPOILER-FREE for future eps!

(And I need to find a new routine since it's airing later. Whoo, was I up late last night.)

Also up: TORCHWOOD! Season 1, ep.2. And Dr. Who, 3.05. Come talk shop, folks!

And remember, every time you like/tumble/or tweet a post at HDJM, an angel gets a fresh cocktail. Thank you for the support!
One, I'm here, I'm lurking, I've had an unbelievable amount of stress for a personal issue in the background, and have been inactive online as a result. Hopefully you'll understand that I have to focus on RL issues before replying to comments, etc.

Two, Glee's season finale was last night and I've finally managed to get the recap and review up, and I'll just say that I was satisfied. There is (once again, it's Glee-fandom after all) loads of hate and upset on the internet, but my LJ and that recap are not the place for it. Those of us that want to revel, to sigh, to enjoy: come on over and know that you can. :)

I've had non-stop Glee writing since July of last year, I realized, and I'm looking forward to a bit of a break. Not that I don't still enjoy the show, I do, I'm just pretty wrung out, I've realized.

And I just realized that I've not had lunch. That probably explains why I feel cruddy, huh? Oops. Okay, there are nachos to be made. (Mmm.)

<3
First, Sophie is back with Sherlock 2.2 - Hounds of Baskerville - and her first recap was a huge hit. Let's help make her second just as popular!

Second, the first of last night's Glee episodes PROPS is now up at HDJM, and I'm interested in your thoughts (no bitchy talk, no derisive talk, your calm, intelligent thoughts) on what I'm calling Tina-Gate.

(Seriously: no hissing or spitting. If you feel that angry about a show, you should probably do yourself a favor and stop watching, I think. Strolling through the internet last night was...eye opening.) [ETA] And I'm being called a racist over there. Okay, that's enough. I'm signing off for a while. Be freaking nice to each other, it's just the god damned internet, for crying out loud.

Last, my Mom Duties are being called in more strongly than usual, so I might be AWOL for a bit. I'm sure everyone can understand that my kids have to come first, right? Right. <3 Thank you for understanding that I might not be Johnny on the Spot with replies!
Glee! Let me just say this: I know some of y'all hate this stuff. You hate disco, you hate sunshine and breathing and puppies and everything fun. I get it. (LOL.) But I looooooove disco. I love dancing, ergo, I love disco. I've talked about this before, but in college (Mormon school, so no shenanigans) we'd get all dressed up in costumes and go rollerskate while a disco cover band played and it was SO. DAMN. FUN.

Also, there was a sexy dance in last night's episode where a certain someone ran their hands over his body and I lost my damn mind. Jeez Louise, my husband needs to COME HOME. Too bad he can't dance. *cries*

I should dig out my pictures and scan them in. Man, I had some AMAZING disco clothes. (And my own skates!) Yay good clean fun! Hahaha.

Okay, time for yoga. Ringer's finale is soon to be posted on HDJM, so be sure to give Janey's some love! Have a great day, lovelies!
HELLO! Glee last night, there's the recap, and what I most would like to stress is that Matt Bomer is perfection. Comic timing in spades (Lea Michele was on, as well - you put her next to someone else funny and it's MAGIC) and SPOILER!! )

ION, I am so damn tired, I can barely type. There has been child drama (like, they are being dramatic, nothing troubling) which involves me explaining why life isn't over because so and so said such and such, blah blah. The Mr. was called away at the last minute for a business trip so I'm holding down the fort solo until Sunday, and THE WORST NEWS: tickets fell through for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony this weekend, so me and another Significant Other ended up without tickets to the show. I do not want to go and stand outside the concert while my husband plays inside, so. BOO. I'm glad he's going and is performing because that's amazing but...Beastie Boys! *cries*

As an "I'm sorry!" he's sending me to NYC in another week and change to see BoM before Andrew Rannells leaves the cast (he's the lead.) And I get to go to the Botanical Gardens with [livejournal.com profile] flaming_muse and that is all that's keeping me putting one foot in front of the other today. <3

TIRED, EFFIE, I'M TIRED! I want food to magically appear on its way to my mouth. Like French Fries covered in bacon and cheese. How about it, Science?
First, Southland last night was EPIC. Good lord. Recap is here, and I'm telling you, if you're not watching that show and you love the craft of writing? You are doing a huge disservice to yourself. (FM, you're excused because of the blood. :D)

Second, GLEE was epic. And this is where I'm going to go off on a rant about fandom entitlement, and how it's bled into the media, etc. Pre-emptive SHH for anyone that wants to challenge me on my feels. ALSO: SPOILERS FOR LAST NIGHT. )

Vitriolic, I know. I just cannot take any more of how bratty this fandom can be. I feel like there are two fandoms for Glee: people who love to hate it, and me and about four other people. Whatever, they're quality folks, and smaller parties are more fun to me, anyway. One of those quality people has made an amazing and heartfelt post about why the LGBT stories mean so much to her.

If you have anything negative to say, don't you dare drop it there. Her LJ is not the place.
Wait, those were all destroyed in the Ministry of Magic, right? BOO.

GLEE! I loved the episode (with a few missteps, of course, but that's Glee.) also, the cocktail? FUGGIN' DELISH. Get your recipe and recap right 'chere.

SOUTHLAND RECAP. Oh, I have a bad feeling about up coming eps - BUT I DO NOT WANT SPOILERS. At all. Ever. Just... this episode was great (they all are) and it left me with a feeling of foreboding.

The Bachelor is up, Walking Dead is up, and tonight? TOP CHEF FINALE, PART ONE.

I am still in my pajamas. I do not want to still be in my pajamas. I really need for two huge shows I recap to not be on the same night. MAKE MY LIFE HAVE MEANING BY CLICKING THE LINKS AND READING AND SHARING. *cries*

Now I go in search of clothing and food. ...I promise I am not a homeless person, even though it sounds that way.
I have had an incredibly ridiculous past 36 hours and plan on making sweet, sweet love to a bottle of wine shortly. It's happy hour somewhere.

The Glee recap was up last night by 10:30 (pats self on the back) and let me just tell you how freaking delicious the cocktail is: it's a flaming margarita body shot. WHAT?! YEAH. So get on over there and clickity, you can thank me for the laughs and drinks later. AND HEY IT IS REALLY FUNNY, BY THE WAY. *pats self on back*

SouthLAnd was surprisingly (not really) layered last night (it's always layered) and the whole storyline with the homeless guy was heartbreakingly wonderful. THAT SHOW IS AMAZING, GUYS. The final messages is whether or not being a mother "fixes your life." So I had a few things to say about that, as well.

Jane got her Ringer recap up, so head on over and show some love for her, too. It's picking up steam, right? SMG is popping up all over the place, and Andy Cohen of BravoTV loooooves her and the show, so that bodes well for Buffy.

Time for me to lay on my back and do nothing for thirty solid minutes. (Cue tornado. Or home invasion. IDK. *head desk*)

[ETA] And THANK YOU for the sympathy yesterday. The fun never starts stops! I have a Big Carl of wine. I should be fine in a bit...
Glee last night: I loved it. LOVED. The Gleecap/Recap (which, if I may, is hilarious) is up and waiting for you! Not to mention a delicious cocktail recipe is also over there. And...I'm just going to say it. I think there are people who hate it because they didn't have complete control. This show has been insane from Day 1, I've just never understood how that can be forgotten. Continuity issues, yes, problems with treatment of characters, of course. Of course! But...it's always been like that? IDK, I found this shit hilarious this ep. (And sweet and poignant and weird and OH MY GOD, NO, RACHEL and...any reaction like that tells me they did something right. Just my two cents.)

Southland! HOLY CRAP YOU GUYS. How is this show better with every week?! Come talk to me about society and how we have intrinsic rules, etc (Warning if you don't watch the show: it's violent.)

And then the news about Susan G. Komen came out, how they're separating ties with Planned Parenthood because they're being pressured by Anti-Choice groups. It was born in my hometown Dallas, I've supported them for years as many of you know, through the 3-Day and other fund raising opportunities. I've raised tens of thousands for them, actually. But I can't support them if they're going to cave in to anti-choice bullying.

Well, the pink ribbon shit has gotten to be too prevalent to be useful anymore, anyway, right? I'll be devoting my time and money solely to Planned Parenthood now. I'm good with that.

Now go click over on HDJM and share the love and join in the discussion! GOOD TV = HAPPY ME.
SOUTHLAND. I love it. I love the characters something fierce. I was not disappointed with the season opener last night. RECAP IS HERE. If you weren't aware of how dark and gritty that show is, now you do. So. There's your warning for all things Bad.

I actually didn't hate Glee (link to recap) last night (even though Will Schuester continues to be INAPPROPRIATE. Oh my god.) There are some good discussions picking up in comments over at HDJM (I have smart readers.)

I am SO HUNGRY and I am going to make tacos from wild boar that cooked down for hours the other night. NOM NOM NOM.

ION, today is not just Thesaurus Day, it's also my anniversary. We're going to crack open a bottle of wine that we bought on our 10th anniversary and enjoy. (That's my husband in my icon. He's awfully fetching and pulchritudinous. I find I am still quite enamored.)

ETA I've had a bit of a family emergency, so I'll do everything I can to have Top Chef up tomorrow. Head's up for any inconvenience to your morning read, is all. :)
GLEE! Oh, there were wonderful things last night. And things that made me frustrated. Welcome to the show, right? RECAP AND COCKTAIL are live, and I want you to come talk to me about it (and tell your friends to come there, too. I'm nothing if not a steady pimp for Hey, Don't Judge Me.)

THEN. I will pick up my vehicle, get SOUTHLAND's recap up, and maybe I'll get to eat something today. I'll add an ETA here for when I get the SouthLAnd recap up, and DAMN THAT SHOW IS ONE OF THE BEST AROUND, COME ON.

But this is important: educate yourself on SOPA. Because under the wide net it casts, Hey, Don't Judge Me could EASILY be shut down without any recourse. GO HERE FOR A QUICK SUMMATION and instructions if you feel like taking action.

<3
Glee last night...that was weird, what the girls were doing in their routine, right? With the weird arm pumping and waving? Or maybe it was just because of the choppy editing, IDK. ANYWAY. Recap is up! (The recap's drink is CRAZY delicious. Have you discovered honey liqueurs yet? HOLY CRAP. Nom.)

I am going to be offline mostly because after two months and change, I am FINALLY going to take my laptop in to get the LED screen repaired. (Couldn't do it myself because a) I don't trust wholesalers for LED screens and b) I don't have a clean room, and if you get anything like, say, cat hair behind it, you're going to see a big magnified hair forever. So.) Dr. Laptop thinks he can fix it in one day (I actually suspect the lamp is the problem, not the screen/cable) Thankfully I have a netbook for basics, but it's not the same. My husband just wants me to buy a new computer, to which I scoff. Wasteful! Mine is still great, the processor could stand an upgrade, but otherwise, it does everything I need. ALSO I HAVE A ONE OF A KIND CASE, and I'm not willing to part with it. I always get comments on it when I go to coffee shops. I <3 my laptop.

Oh, and I need to upload some pictures once I get it back. I made a Kindle cover over the Thanksgiving weekend from an old book I bought at that shop, Curiosities. The book? "I Was a Teenage Dwarf." Ha! (I removed all the pages, I didn't cut a hole in them. I'm not 100% satisfied with the way it turned out, but it looks cool, so... Eh, first time making one, so not too shabby.

OK. Workout, clean up, and then a date with my resident drummer, as he'll be leaving to live the life of a corporate rock star soon. *snerk*
I am a complete baby when it comes to sleep, I'll be totally up front. I usually get 7 hours, 7 solid hours every single night. 8 is better. 6 is challenging. I didn't go to bed until well after 1am and then was up at 6 and I want to diiiiiieeeee. Not really, I want to sleeeeeeeep.

Last night as the last child came back (they always come back) from running around the neighborhood, I pressed the buttons to close the garage doors and the one behind my car gave a godawful thump/crumpleSKREEEEEEEE before I could push the release. It jumped the track and warped and twisted into a big mess and is now blocking my car from exiting. It was one of those standing there with my hands in my hair and mouth open moments. FUN. So hopefully I can get a repairman out because otherwise I AM TRAPPED. O_O

It was a hit or miss episode on GLEE last night (Klaine moments! Cooter/Sue moments?) but the recap is up, and the cocktail is REALLY TASTY (I broke my "no alcohol during the week" rule when I started back on P90X to make sure, so come on. Make my slowed metabolism worth it.)

I have P90X and TurboFire HIIT to do today, because I'm insane. Also, I miss being in fighting shape. Because I wanna fight. Put me in, Coach! I am now insane from lack of sleep, I hope you're happy, Science. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

WAIT. I wanted to put a rec out there before I go back to sleep. Why don't you have [livejournal.com profile] flaming_muse on your flist yet, if you love fabulous fanfiction? It's really your loss. She wrote a fic that was posted yesterday, and it deals with Kurt explaining why he's never serenaded Blaine (have you noticed? She and I have.) As always, it's utterly wonderful and filled with lovely emotions and visuals. "I Want To Tell You," PG-13.

ALSO. Dear NaNoWriMo. I totes should have signed up this year. Without counting LJ, FB, Twitter, comments, emails (and there were a lot) OR MY BOOK THAT I'VE BEEN EDITING, (because I didn't have a before/after word count to keep me honest, so I'll just dismiss it right out) I have a monthly November writing total of, wait for it, 122,122. So. I'm kinda proud of me. Even if I have nothing to show for it.

Okay. NOW I am going to wander around with my clothes on inside out looking for coffee.
Glee. God damn you, Glee, THIS IS THE SHOW YOU SHOULD ALWAYS BE. Guys? Season 3, Episode 5, maybe the greatest episode in their entire history. Not just because of how I feel about Kurt and Blaine. The EDITING. The DIRECTING. The music, oh my god Blaine dancing randomly to Roxy Music - the is my JAM. (lol)

First, I was up until past midnight, I couldn't turn the brain off after writing the GLEE RECAP AND COCKTAIL RECIPE (pink pucker, I'm sorry, I come up with names based on titles and make them a week early, otherwise I'd never sleep EVER and my hands cramped up yesterday because I have written over 40,000 THIS WEEK, that is not hyperbole) so please give my life meaning and read it. And share my squee. And laughter. And tears. But not this breakfast burrito because I'm really hungry, okay?

UM. A WARNING TO A FEW AFTER I SKIMMED LJ/TUMBLR/TWITTER LAST NIGHT. SPOILER FOR 3x05!! How did you see that?! How did you miss the point?! Also, gorgeous picture of the two of them under the cut. YES, THEM. I don't even need to tell you who, right? )

Holy crap. I just need a Slanket made of Darren Criss, is that too much to ask for? Let's hash things out at the recap. Help me. HELP ME DEAL WITH THESE FEELINGS, omg.
Here's today's Glee-recap for Asian F, and I had many many thoughts. Also, it's a really delicious drink, a riff off one I had at my favorite neighborhood bar, actually. Come talk to me about the show!

Oooh, and tonight is AMERICAN HORROR STORY. And we're recapping it! (The hilarious Sam will be doing it, and she's the one that did the Thor and Captain America recaps that everyone went bananas for.) Check local listings, it's supposed to be delightfully creepy. Plus, it has Connie Britton!!

Okay, I have to workout, once I can get my legs to cooperate, and then edits because it seems I wrote 5000 words in a fic about a table yesterday. (It's better than I'm making it sound. It's a sexy table.)

AND WALKING DEAD STARTS ON THE 16TH OH MY GOD. ....there's going to be an apocalypse handbook that comes with the recaps. I JUST WANT EVERYONE TO BE PREPARED, OKAY?

And RINGER just went up, too! Hooray genre TV!
