Oh, god. *grins* No no, you won't like Coronation Street! It's.. weird. It's not a pretty soap like This Life (which, um, isn't really a soap, it's more of a drama serial - filmed on film, not tape, done in series) or Cold Feet (OH if you like This Life, you will LOVE Cold Feet, it's SO MUCH BETTER and James Nesbitt and Fay Ripley are LOVE. Also David in it is the posh brother from Notting Hill), it's this REALLY long-running (since 1960) soap set on a street in Lancashire, with a pub at the end of the street called the Rover's Return. Hmm. Don't think you'd know any of the actors except one guy who used to be in Red Dwarf, and one guy who played Alexander (the Emmett character) in UK QAF.

Have you seen EastEnders? That's the BBC's soap (Corrie is made by ITV, as is Cold Feet), which has run since 1985 (and which my Dad makes, sometimes!) and is set in a square (Albert Square) in the East End of London.

They're both patchy, but Coronation Street can be TOTALLY HILARIOUS, because sometimes the writing is just insane. Ian McKellan did a bit part in it because he loves it so much.

OH, and there's a radio soap - can you get Radio 4 or the BBC World Service on the radio/through your computer? You would like Radio 4, I think. Anyway, The Archers has been on every day for 50 years or something. And is amusing and very, very gentle and tame.
