Winds-day

As it is blustery today, I will not be stepping outside for fear of blowing away. Also, the wind is my arch-nemesis. It is the evil that blows my hair onto my lip gloss, screws up my perfectly coiffed hair-do *laughs* and makes my clothes all twisty. Do I recall a bad day with a wrap mini-skirt, grannie panties, a boy I fancied walking near, and a windy day? Yes, I do. And I'll never forget. NEVER! *steely gaze into my painful past* Also, I don't like dust in my eyes - I'm funny like that.

So! Y'all think I'm an academic, I suppose, and that my poll yesterday was for a paper, or something. Confession time: I was just curious. But I did appreciate those that wanted to make sure they didn't skew my data. Um, you didn't. Over all I learned that I have a lot of educated people over 25 participating in my journal. Most of us had punishments of some form, and most of us had varying forms of responsibility around our houses growing up. In other words, I have a good flist. *G*

The Mister is on a business trip this week, #2 is at Science Camp until tonight (left Mon. morning) so our family is down to three this week, and it's been very nice. Um, I don't like to think that #2 is an instigator of arguing, etc., but she is a 10 year old girl, and most times forgets that I'm the mom. As a result, there hasn't been arguing and "STOP TOUCHING ME. MOOOOOM!" in the house, and it's been wonderful. (I do miss my girl, don't get me wrong.) The house is clean, the laundry done, the dishes washed *checks* yeah, dishes washed, I've exercised, I've showered.... I have no excuses to not dive into NaNo. What the hell is wrong with me?? I think I'm going to work on a second project to get my word count today. (It's not cheating when that was your rule in the beginning.)

For those that sent me links yesterday, yes, I'm fully aware that Nicholas Brendon mentioned our movie Blood on the Highway at the Con this weekend, because I obsessively check news articles on my movie. Because hey - I'm proud of it. :) Also, our director/producer is scheduled to talk to Dimension films (this week? I believe so) about purchasing it, which would be seriously awesome. Because of the WGA strike, the idea of having a movie ready to go is very appealing. Yay for independent filmmakers!

(Also: I'm still ADORING Pushing Daisies as one of the nicest and cleverest new TV shows - is Time Burton involved? It looks like it has his visual touch. I also really, really like Chuck for a fun movie, and it doesn't hurt that he's a total hunky nerd guy - my Achilles heel.) Nose to the grindstone... (I need to spend an hour looking at cat macros first, right? RIGHT?!)

I adore Pushing Daisies. It's a very Roald Dahl sensibility. Plus a lot of Broadway talent on that show.

OMG, when Kristen Chenoweth (who has the best rack on TV, my goodness, she's a perky thing!) met up with Ellen Greene and they started singing, I almost clapped my hands. It's a terrific program.

Barry Sonnenfeld (sp?) of Raising Arizona, Men in Black and live action version of The Tick (!) is the man behind it.

I missed your poll yesterday, so I added my $.02 today.

I am so with you on a) the 10 year old girl stuff, and b) the no NaNo excuses, so what's wrong with me??? *kicks us both in the pantses, but nicely* :)

Oh my stars, yes! Pushing Daisies is the most wonderful thing on tee vee now, IMHO. I love how beautifully shiny it is, how much charm is in the characters and the interactions, and the sweetness they manage to put into it without crossing that quirky to overdone line. Also? Lee Pace. Niiiiice. And Olive was in "Wicked" as Glinda. Extreme coolness. :)

*looks at LOLCATS with you*
*whistles*

I just watched a cat playing an invisible piano on cuteoverload.com Clearly I need that kick in the pants...

Oh, don't you love Kristen Chenoweth? She also has, what... three albums, too? I'm a huge fan of Ellen Green, and keep waiting for her to say "shoo-wah" (sure) and harken back to her Little Shop of Horrors days. They both have wonderful voices.

But I just love how sweet and funny and odd (in the best way possible!) that show is. <3 <3 <3

Ack, winds! My kryptonite. I had to deal with a bunch this morning, due to a broken-down car...my hair still hasn't recovered. ::scowls at the weather gods::

Still at 3,456. Use that as an ego boost!

She has three albums? I didn't know that! How cool!

I adore Ellen Green! Man, the minute she appeared on screen, I turned to my hubby and sang, "Suddenly Seymore/is standing beside me". His response was:
O.O

Oops. :D

I can't wait for tonight's episode!

I always knew #2 was your least favorite, now I have proof. Hahaha.

I was talking to Maren last night and told her of your love for Chuck and how it got your seal of approval not based on my recommendation but because she likes it. She was very gloat-y. (I want to kiss him and run my fingers through his funny animal shaped hair.)

HOW GOES NANOING?

I thought you were polling to find out what kind of parenting would to stop your kids mooching around the house when they grow up!
(Or indeed, encourage them to!)

TIME Burton is his lesser known cousin. Also: see icon.

#2 is hoarse, whiny, and upset that SCIENCE camp wasn't fun. Yay?

Here's the link, it's on his website.

DOOD. I'm about to google images from that game, holee sheet.

We all lept in with our 'but...but...', because we're deeply honest folk and didn't want to be dishonest in the poll. Don't make us liers Stoney, because you know that the baby Jesus will come down from on high and punch you in the kidneys.

Also, our director/producer is scheduled to talk to Dimension films (this week? I believe so) about purchasing it,

AWESOMEST! You know what you need to do now in your ways of avoiding actual work - "I'd like to thank the Academy..." Pick up that hairbrush microphone and get to the bathroom mirror, stat!

So cool that Nick Brendon is dropping good words about the movie!

This is the same Science Camp that #1 went to last year, right? It sounded very awesome, and I am jealous that we don't have anything like that in our school. Can I sneak my kids into your school system just for that week? :-)

As for the TV shows, we started watching Reaper based on some good reviews in the paper but we are increasingly disappointed in the formulaic way it's going. I am sorry that we missed the kick-off of Pushing Daisies but maybe we will start watching it now. I know the basic premise, and have heard many people rave about it.

Next year, scootch those boys here in late October - we'll get them saying "y'all" and "fixin' to" and they'll fit right in. *g* #2 didn't have the same ethereal experience that The Boy had, which made me sad last night. Apparently there was a stinky chaperone that favored her daughter over the other girls (13 others) and was quite rude. :( #2's best friend is possibly the nicest, sweetest child you could ever meet, and this woman made her cry. >:( I'm speaking with the principal later today about it. (But the science portions were very cool, she said.)

What I like most about Pushing Daisies is how utterly charming (and surprisingly adult (but not ... HBO adult. It's just clever and doesn't pander, if that makes sense) the show is. We missed the very first episode, and are hoping ABC re-airs the whole slew of eps when the new shows start running dry due to the strike. I'm also falling for Chuck, which is a fun, popcorn type show. :)

It makes me feel bad to use your word count as an ego boost!

*cracks whip* Get going, missy! (Heee! Do what you can - like I told a friend earlier today, there's no firing squad at the end of this, so just write when you can.)

Do I think Michael can survive out in the wilderness?

....no. No I don't.

I DO LOVE CHUCK. Um, I would like to be the meat in a Chuck and Ned (from Pushing Daisies) make-out sandwich, thanks. Mmmmm, kissing.

Also, I'm currently at 20,843, and need to finish the day at 25K. ACK. *write write write*

I'm not making liars, I am EXPOSING liars. Not unlike a pedophile in a public diaper changing station exposes himself. I'M JUST LIKE THAT.

Man, I'm pretty excited about the potential for this movie to be nationally distributed (and more!) We'll see... So, you'll become a famous comedy writer (or start writing for SGA) and I'll be a famous actress, and we'll be the most popular internet people EVER.

OUR PLANS ARE COMING TO FRUITION.

Oooh, I hope you get a good response from the principal. What a shame about the horrible chaperone! But even if the principal takes action, it's too late to make a difference for your girl or her friend. And that stinks.

I think somehow that your chances of becoming a fancy movie star is significantly higher than my chances of becoming a comedy writer, heee!

Being famous on the internet is winning at life. Tru fax!
