I didn't realize that the Twilight movie starts TOMORROW. Ahahahahaha! Guys, I'm not gonna lie to you. I'm going to the 10:30 am show, pen, paper, and tiny light in hand. THERE WILL BE MOCKING.

My youngest son (10) decided he was intrigued with TWILIGHT after seeing the movie preview. We're going to see it next week, after he's finished reading.

Fine, you can laugh, but my poooooor baby boy (age 22 1/2 next Thursday) is stuck working the midnight debut of Twilight; they have it showing in the seven largest auditoriums at his multiplex. At midnight next, in five and a half hours or so.

All else aside, you know that most of those attending will be marinated in product, of various brands and formulations. My sister is of the opinion that he should have been issued a hazmat outfit.

Julia, he foolishly read the Fandom Wank coverage, and is thus... cautious. Very cautious.

I wasn't going to go, but then one of my co-workers emailed me and our mutual lunch buddies all "Want to go see Twilight tomorrow?" And I was all "Only if I can make fun of it." And then THEY were all "What's it about anyway?"

THEY DIDN'T KNOW. ANYTHING. THEY JUST KNEW IT WAS A POPULAR FILM.

I TOLD THEM ABOUT SPARKLEPIRES. THEY THOUGHT I WAS MAKING IT UP.

TOMORROW NIGHT WILL BE EPIC.

Oh I'm gonna tell them ALL ABOUT IT at dinner pre-movie. Though I've already given them some of the highlights of the Tour of Terror.

Given that this is only about the first book what would you say the best dinner topics would be? I mean they are GONNA learn about sparklebaby but I want to make sure to give them good stuff that they'll be seeing in the movie.

I don't think you could go wrong with dissecting "Do I dazzle you?" a line from book 1.

Or that the protagonist hates herself and can't stand up.

Or that the entire vampire family delights in carrying her around.

And her leg muscles don't atrophy during the course of the movie. (Also, I'm fully expecting Ray Liotta to show up as her dad.)

OOOH! And that Edward contemplates bringing oil to lubricate the window so it doesn't make noise when he opens it to watch Bella sleep, because he DOESN'T WANT TO WAKE HER. Because she' find out he's watching her.
