Yup, noticed that, about the second or third episode of "Lost" which was at the same time as the start of season 1 Angel on TNT.

Also? The little guy who Syd made up with window dirt in the season premiere of "Alias" was in both "Who Are You?" (vamp) and "Superstar" (Jape)- Yorick who does the Alias reviews on TV Tome told me that, I get credit only for recognizing him as a Buffy bit player.

Stephanie Romanov (Lilah) played a femme fatale gambler on one of my old slashy favourites, Due South, and I didn't see that episode until after Angel, so that was cool.

Even cooler, Laurel Holloman (Justine) played an adorable baby butch dyke in one of my favourite movies, The Incredibly True Adventures of Two Girls in Love, from 1995, which I saw long before Angel ever aired (and she was so young! and so not evil! and so stoned for most of the film!). Never recognized her name or her face until I was looking up her career on IMDB. She's also apparently been on The L Word.

Not so much. The first ep was when they were tweaking the vamp look (green guy? Huh?) so he is DEFINITELY prettier as a man.
