Hello!!

Today is another shopping excuse holiday in the US: Mother's Day. Got to sleep in. Had "breakfast in bed." Quote marks are necessary as my breakfast consisted of:

  • lukewarm slice of American cheese, unwrapped (the kids woke up early)

  • dried out hunk of summer sausage

  • grapes

  • bagel - whole, uncut, untoasted

  • large glass of water

husband ammended this by adding a large mug of coffee, just how I like it. And hid the uneaten warm, melted faux cheese and meat so the kids' feelings wouldn't be hurt. Hee!

To those that are NOT Mothers: I hug and kiss you all for your freedom, your lack of breast/hip/belly stretch marks due to pregnancy, and your ability to have sex without the door locked. Or sending bodies away.

To those that have lost beloved mothers: I envy you the love you shared with her, and hope you know that some chick in Texas is thinking hard about you and sending you good thoughts.

Have spent the weekedn with the Mormon relations due to a wedding and have been surprised that there was NOT cold cuts and Sprite at teh reception. Olive trays! Brie! Crusty loaves! And, um, Hawaiian punch, dressed up in a fountain. Well, three out of four ain't bad. They are going to descend on us like locusts come calling today at my home before they leave tonight, so no time to post fic, visit, chat... But I shall have many tale on the morrow. 16 children from 5 to 9. Not including my own. Happy freaking Mother's Day. :-D

Also!! I forgot that yesterday was [livejournal.com profile] janedavitt's b-day, and we had bonded over Gilbert and Anne. What's not to love? I hope your day was lovely, the sentiments and happiness were all day long, and may you have many, many more.

MmmMMMmmm...now you're making my hungry...

I have a strange desire for Hawaiian punch and big ole uncut, untoasted bagels et al. Heh! Yummmmmmmers.

Happy freakin' Mother's Day to you, too.

Hee! And uuuuunnnnhhfff to your icon. Am sitting with a towel on my head, foot creme making 'em soft n'purdy and waiting for the brats relations to arrive in an hour.

*sigh*

My cousins are fun. Even if their kids are shits.

Happy mother's day! I hope you survive it intact and sane and healthy.

(Cannot stop giggling over Hawaiian punch fountain.)

You'll notice upon a second read that I have the disclaimer of "due to pregnancy" in there... Hee!

If' you'd quit stretching your tits into Mickey Mouse ears for the boys at the bar, you wouldn't have stretch marks on them.

I LOVE YOU, VINNIE!!! (I want you to come to my house and let me feed you and cuddle....) *cries*

Oh, man, I kept walking up to my sister and whisper: Hey Punchy! How about a little Hawaiian Punch?!

But. It was far better than the typical Mormon reception: buttermints, cold cuts, American cheese slices (artfully arranged in a fan.) And Sprite. Can't forget the Sprite.

If it's REALLY fancy, you may have rainbow jello salad. (All the colors of jello made into layers in a pyrex dish) Or lime jello with shredded carrots suspended inside.

Classy.

Tomorrow I will list the most hilarious weddings I've attended. I think [livejournal.com profile] karabair is going to win, though. More on THAT tomorrow.

The locusts are arriving.
*smooshes you and kisses your head*

Yes. Yes you do.

And purdy feet.

Happy Mom's Day! Summer sausage and American cheese. WHeee! Heh - that is adorable.

I have no exerience with Mormon receptions - but the staple jello dish at most of my mom's family's get togethers is an orange jello salad with cream cheese (that usually ends up looking like cottage cheese) and mandarin oranges. It looks hideous, but damned if it isn't quite tasty. Classy. :D

Luck with the locusts.

lol...hooray for Mother's Day! *g* When we made brekkie for mum Dad always helped us make pancakes and cut up fruit and make tea...such a kid-made feast. Hee!

Enjoy the swarm of locusts! Happy Freakin' Mother's Day! *smooches*

Happy Mothers Day to you. You mean you don't like lukewarm american cheese, and dried out summer sausage?

Happy Mother's Day! I was just going to send out a search party (in the form of an email) to find out what happened to you. I feel as if it's been a while since I saw a post from you.

I got to sleep in this morning too, hurray! And part of my Mother's Day treat was a visit (in the sprinkling rain) to the nursery, where I bought the prettiest Pieris bush. We're thinking of putting it out front near the baby Japanese maple.

So glad to hear from you!

Ahem. You meant Julie, right? And don't go spoiling my post tomorrow. You can chime in on all the WT details then.

Surprise the folks, Bethy.

I had whiney, bratty shits at my house all afternoon. I'm not talking about my kids. O_o

Ahhh - the locusts have left and I have naught but stems and a dry wind...

The funny thing about jello dishes: we mock, but they taste GOOD. I would, um, be interested in that recipe... For historical recording purposes... Yes. That's it.

B cup? *cries*

I had to buy a NURSING bra in the size of G. A 32 G. That's EASY to find. Heck, you can pick one of them up at the gas station.

(Happy Mother's Day to you, too. Did you get any macaroni/glitter pictures?)

Oh, but see: you had DAD helping. That would have altered my breakfast slightly... Hee!! I think the cheese wouldn't have been room temperature. Um, cheap, processed cheese. (Really good cheese is typically better when soft. Plastic cheese is not.)

Smooch to you and hug your mama!!

BWAH! No, not so much. But I'm enough of a pro that I smiled and got teary eyed, then slid it into the trash when they ran out, job accomplished. :-D

(Happy Mother's Day to YOU!!!)

But of course!! Lukewarm water the cats probably sipped out of while they waited for me to rise and shine. *snerk*

What's a mother if not deception love?

Happy Mother's Day to you, whether or not it's celebrated in your parts!

Happy mother's day, Anne! I called Sue and we talked about you, and how perfect it would be if she and Caza could head out your way and visit this summer...

Love you, hope you had a lovely day with your boys, and I am JEALOUS of the plants!

Did you see the list of things I got? Yeah. That's it. I love Mr. Stoney, but he's TERRIBLE about giving me cards, gifts, etc. Lughead. (And I want pictures of the garden, missy!!)

Hey you! You're a good mother for not throwing cheese and raw bagels at your children and then locking them in a cupboard.

I made my mother a salad once for mothers day and put slugs and snail all through it. Though she clicked because I was rolling about the floor screaming with laughter gasping out 'don't eat it!'. I was a deeply strange and stupid child. So pity that I did that when I was 22. Joking! Though am I...?

Yeah, I am.

Is it wrong to steal children and force them to make you breakfast for mothers day?

Squee at your icon. Ohhh Anne of Green Gables, how I loved that.

The only way Sue's trip could be more perfect is if you could come with her. And that's the absolute truth.

My "garden" is pretty bare. I really had a hard time last year with it and lost several plants -- and I feel as if I'm still just in the beginning phase of the whole thing anyway. But I will take some pictures soon!

My husband didn't do much for Mother's Day either, other than keep the boys occupied and me supplied with hot tea all day. He did give me a swing CD and the trip to the nursery, but I would have done that second one anyway! :-)

A 32G Bless your heart. I was just happy to get any boobs :)

Did you get any macaroni/glitter pictures?

I did get a glitter card & a "hand print" plaque from the littlest of the two. The Eldest boy made a turtle for me in his ceramics class.
The turtle reminds me of the mush faced Lion in Wonderfalls. I love it soooo much.

*sniff* Gilbert was my first true love. (Did you know I wrote Anne of Green Gables fic? They're clean - I wouldn't do that to my Anne. And they are in my memories under their own header if you wanted something to read....)

HA HA HA!! Oh, man, that sounds like me letting the beagle lick the plates clean and then sticking them back into the cupboard. My cousin and I couldn't go through with it, either...

I was afraid my kids would get sick.

You should make a habit of stealing kids to force them to do your will. It's that or birth them. Why do you think I have some?

For your archives... ;-)

Orange Cheese Salad

1 small pkg. orange jello
1 cup boiling water
1small pkg. softened cream cheese
1 small can frozen OJ thawed
1 can mandarin oranges drained
Dissolve jello in water. Blend with cheese. Add OJ. Let cool. Stir in orange sections. Let set in fridge.

And voila! And it is yummy. heh.
