AHHHHHHHH!
Jul. 1st, 2005 10:19 amTension breaker, had to be done.
My reading list (some people call it a Keiser blade. No, they don't. They call it a Flist.) was getting out of control. SO MANY posts to read. I was missing some things I wanted to read, yadda yadda, badda boom. Not flocking things, not trying to hurt feelings, just cleaning up a little. Some folks I don't have similar interests with now, some folks aren't around much anymore, and so on.
But. This is MY reading list, and you can feel free to defriend (god, I hate that term) anytime you want without hurt feelings to adjust YOUR reading list. No harm no foul. If you want to stick around, comment, whatever, feel free! I just needed to get fit for the summer, you know?
SO. Anyone want to tell me a joke? Link something funny? I'd LOVE IT. :-D
Here: I'll get us started: The greatest job would be to write this stuff. I love/hate these girls so much.
Whatcha got?
[ETA more funny]: came across Tourette Syndrome Barbie. Disturbing and funny. Because I hate Barbie.

I need to go finish staining the wood for the new picnic table top, and then, possibly, get ready to go look at real tall ships in Tacoma, and William Mossis wors at The Museum of Glass Art.

Date: 2005-07-01 09:36 am (UTC)I loved the Go Fug Yourself link, though... I kept forcing Gabe (the BF) to watch Chaotic because I told him it was as close to a high school reunion of mine that he was ever going to get. I'm sure I graduated with at least a dozen Brit/Kev clones... Oh, the trashy was FUN (to watch, nearly 10 years later)!!

Also, did you make your pony icon? Because I need to know how to make one like that, except different. (Here's a bison, there's a bison, and another baby bison, sleepy bison, herd of bison, bison, geyser, ELK!)

Date: 2005-07-01 10:22 am (UTC)TINFOIL HAT!
And I *did* make the pony icon by cropping pics, making a border, cropping it to give me the blank space - I'm super lame and don't know all the tricks - then used my Animation Studio to line them up and voila! (If you know the pics you want, you can email them to me and I'll set you up. Just if you want. morrisona [at] sbcglobal [dot] net.)

Marcy's "Enchiladas"
We don't know who "Marcy" is, only that she thinks "enchiladas" is wacky Mexican talk for "shit on a shingle."
And: Mackerelease yourself. Embrace mackereality.
You win.

Date: 2005-07-01 12:12 pm (UTC)Brightened my afternoon, which is good. I had to take Nathan to the doctor this morning and found out he has pinkeye, first time for us. Now we have to dose him 3xdaily with an antibiotic gel. He screams hysterically, cries and gets to the point where he can't breathe and almost vomits. I have to hold him down and wind up getting the gel on his eyelashes rather than in his eye, so I don't know if his utter misery is worth it. So far we've gone through this torture twice. No amount of reasoning with him, bribery or threats have made a difference to him.
So we all needed some laughs!

Date: 2005-07-01 12:26 pm (UTC)SW is the main place I've been hanging, and those folks are PROLIFIC, so I'm just changing my READING LIST. I'm not crossing out friends, potential friends, or making and judgement calls of any kind. Just making adjustments to my READING LIST.
Again, you have always been a lovely person, write beautifully, and I'm sure I'll click over to your journal on occassion to see what's going on with you and the mini-Fers!

Date: 2005-07-01 12:33 pm (UTC)Can you turn the tables and tell him it's magic? That the drops (you could say pretend if that makes you feel better) will give him the power to see the future or something and make it a game? How frustrating and stressful, Anne!!
I'll see if I can't find more laughs...

Date: 2005-07-01 05:06 pm (UTC)On a brighter note, our little town held its annual "Country Fair" this evening in the Town Common, with lots of booths and performances. Both our boys managed to dunk the fellow in the dunking booth! We had strawberry shortcake with a homemade biscuit and locally-grown strawberries. Ron bought a red, white & blue tie-dyed t-shirt (made by the local crafter ladies) to go with his goofy patriotic top hat to wear tomorrow when we go to watch the parade. We also signed up with the Greater Lowell Association for Peace and Justice, and bought and signed a 2x4 for Habitat for Humanity, so we're feeling all full of the milk of human kindness...
And tomorrow, the big parade! What are you doing for the 4th?

Date: 2005-07-01 06:29 pm (UTC)What a fun day you had! We live on the border of three towns, so we can see three sets of fireworks from our front yard, and they are having them every night this weekend. Woot! No crowds. Lovely.
And I am super stressed about Nathan! Poor little fella. When I got my first pair of contacts (11?) it was a hard thing to get them in my eye: I kept blinking. The doc had me look hard to one side, then he used one finger to pull my eyelid down and pop it on. Maybe you could distract Nathan with a toy or something far in his peripheral vision to get his blink reflex off kilter?
Otherwise, what do you do? *shrugs* He'll eventually get better and be okay. *hugs you*

Date: 2005-07-02 05:26 am (UTC)(here's something I remembered: this is a journal! Which makes it your personal thinky space! So, if something interests you one day, and then another thing the next... why can't you give in? You CAN! And it's okay! And I'm trying to push the movement of calling it a READING list, and not a FRIENDS list to make it easier to read what I'm interested in today. Just because someone doesn't automatically comes up everytime you load that one page... Nothing keeping you from typing in THEIR journal and popping in, right? Is it weird that I do that?)
I give you hugs and pony cake!
