Phun Phor Phriday!
Oct. 28th, 2005 08:55 amI am giddy. GIDDY! Early morning meeting with the school - Mr. S was there with BULLET POINTS - life is fine and the boy's execution is stayed another day. PERHAPS. The boy, as in my son. Ahem. Life is good. Sun! At my window! Fat kitties pouncing on butterflies! At my window! And my coffee is black and strong. At my... elbow.
I come bearing links of hilarity and funny and ha ha making because it's FRIDAY! Wheee!
This is an old one, but it is still so funny... Worst Album Covers EVER. Tino may be the sexiest mo fo to ever stay in the closet. Except for Orleans. Rawr. The "Julie's 16th Birthday" is so creepy and weird and
crazydiamondsue? I expect laughter from you on that one. "Let Me Touch Him." AHAHAHAHA!!!! Christian pedophilia. Just me? Is that not the WORST?? Hence it's being on the list.
somecandytalkin? How many of these have you come across? Or do you have worse ones?
I about fell out of my chair laughing at this: DOG JUDO! AHAHAHA!!! Wait for it.... wait for it!!!! Heeee! I want to scritch the little doggies heads...
And finally, because as we all know I am broken inside... I made God his own LJ. It's for the RPG I play in, but still. God NEEDS an LJ.
god_yaweh_i_am He is all knowing and powerful and really, really quite bored. Maybe he made the rules a bit... tough... to get in? Hmmm. Things have gotten a bit too serious in the RPG for my characters, so we made a spin off this week for the sole purpose of having crazy story ideas. Or at the very least, based on humor and goofiness. Feel free to check it out:
a_list_celebs. By the end of the weekend, I hope to have it all organized so (If you WANTED...) you could friend the journal and have access to the bios of the players and so forth. Thoughts? Comments? Rotten apples? I still play in the other one, this is just... insurance for no angst.

And I KNOW that song!!! Wow. I am sooo grateful for your obscure 70s rock-band knowledge!

Probably, you would be Molly Hatchet poor... Or maybe not. Those bands were pretty interchangable. My guess is that whoever the poor man's Foghat was, nobody can remember them anymore.

Date: 2005-10-28 07:41 am (UTC)Dude. I LOOOOOOVE the Doobie Brothers. There are not many things aside from early Stevie Wonder that are assured to put me in a good mood.
That being said... MOLLY HATCHET!! Oh, man, I am SHAKING with laughter! Whoooo!! *climbs in my ol' man's bitch seat to hit the show!*

Date: 2005-10-28 08:14 am (UTC)See, the females in my family all played (sax, clarinet, flute) but only orchestral and never together. Me - I've got no musical talent - my Bar Mitzvah was the last time I sang on key, and that was only with months and months of drilling.

Um, I think my dad may have owned the "12 Top Hits" album. My favorite though is "All my friends are dead". Yeah, baby, let's get down and party!

That "Julie's 16th Birthday" made me shudder. Yeesh. I wonder what the heck is the story behind that one. Sadly, "Let Me Touch Him" could be the theme album for the Catholic Church pedophilia scandals that have so rocked the Boston area in the past few years.

Date: 2005-10-28 07:44 am (UTC)Mr. S emailed a spreadsheet, powerpoint presentation, and bullet points to the staff, we met early this morning, and he conducted a meeting. ROCK! And it went very well, they get that I'm not some dumb mom dropping my kids off at school so I can get my hair and nails done, then hit Pilates...
And they are FINALLY going to test his for disgraphia - I think that's why he has such a struggle writing. It's not explaining concepts, he just can't get pen to paper and make anything legible. It's incredibly frustrating for him.
WHEW.
That being said... "LET ME TOUCH HIM." AHAHAHAHAHA!!!

And God likes friends. You can tell people The Alpha And Omega is on your flist. Bwah ha ha!!
Por Primera Vez, Indeed! Tino!!!! I'll second that!
Date: 2005-10-28 08:03 am (UTC)Thanks for all the terrific links!!!
Your Question: How many of these albums have you come across?
My Answer: Not enough, Stoney. Not enough...
Got me some Tammy Faye Baker, pictured with the puppet she used to sing with that she made out of a Porky the Pig shampoo container. Got Don Lonne Talks with Teenagers. And Don Lonne Talks with Teenagers, Some More. Got one where the back says the guy dressed up as the Devil in the photo on the front put his mortal soul in danger by dressing like that, but it was for the good of the Lord, so it all got evened out. Got some Jum Jones (although it's in bad taste and pre Kool-Aid. I don't think he was recording many of his rants right toward the end time.)Got Jimmy Swaggart, pre- and post- ho. Got some freaky stuff, but those were some awesome picks, there. Gotta respect a collection like that. Thanks for showing me!! Got tons of holy roller stuff (including the Happy's and the New Rambos) but NONE of that. YET...
Julia's 16th Birthday, I'm so comin' for ya.
I'm glad you're giddy. I'm glad the meeting went great! I can't wait to check out your God site.
Happy Friday!

Date: 2005-10-28 08:07 am (UTC)Don Lonne Talks with Teenagers! OH MY GOD. I bet that is a GEM! Mainly because: who the hell is Don Lonne?
I have slapped the table TWICE now, laughing my ass off while re-reading your album collection. You should have a badge that says how great you are. HAHAHA!! Talks with teenagers, some... MORE?
I like how dressed up Julie's dad? husband? school counselor? is for her birthday. Yes, it IS a "sweet" 16.
I Love God...
Date: 2005-10-28 05:48 pm (UTC)That cover is gonna give me bad dreams...
:shivers, shakes it off:
Don Lonne has a lot on his mind...and teens love to listen to portly middle-aged guys wearing ties. Good! Thanks, girl! And we can have matching badges.
Yep. We're just That Great. Whatchagonnado? It's not something we could control if we wanted to.
You as Tammy Fae?!?! Heee! Any pics?

Date: 2005-10-28 08:32 am (UTC)The user info page describes how to get going, should you change your mind. I have to follow the rules we created - just because I know someone doesn't give them an "in" - so that everyone can play with new characters, mainly.
AND THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS TOO MUCH ONLINE TIME. Ahem. :-D *hides pants so you can skip class*

Date: 2005-10-28 09:24 am (UTC)Dude - the Julie cover. Dude. And Orleans!!! Bwah! Caza and I were looking through his Mom & Dad's LPs once and let's just say they didn't have Giles' stash, m'kay? There was the Old Line Road Quartet - which featured *5* people on the cover! (Sue can do some maths.)
*loves Mr. Stoney*
...you must find your way out of the gay man's ass...
Date: 2005-10-28 09:35 am (UTC)I did see the shout out! Our contract remains intact for ANOTHER DAY. Muwah haha! And the quartet with five... oh, that's too good. That's the kind of mistake that makes my dad sit and daydream in the sunshine for a half hour. I'll have to pass it along.
Mr. S RULES. You rule the SCHOOL however. *sits patiently at my desk with my Trapper Keeper - Dawson Creek 9000)
Jesus Chriiiiist. Run, Lemmiwinks! I TOLD YOU I was hyper.
