That might be the lamest subject heading in the history of subject headers.

  • First, a thanks to those that tried something new yesterday with my newest Coupling fic. It's my journal! I'm shamelessly pimping myself in my own journal.

  • Second, if you are still thinking about joining the Gud Summries FicaFUN - funathon? - click here to sign up! Easy peasy, not due until July 4th, 6 pages of Gud Summries to pick from, and you can do more than one. Keep them separate, please. Yes, I'm greedy and want more. We'll close up signups on April 20th, so you've got some time.

  • Third, this Poetry Month thing. Poetry is tough for me. A lot of it seems SOOOOO EMO. Yes, there's talented poets, etc., but I have a hard time liking NEW poets. And... maybe you've noticed this about me, but I tend to enjoy uplifting stuff. Not - "Jesus'll getcher in the water and cleanse you good" uplifting, just... You know. Things to make you feel good - happy. Here's my contribution to poetry month:

Langston Hughes - Advice

Folks, I'm telling you,
birthing is hard
and dying is mean-
so get yourself
a little loving
in between.

  • Fourth - does ANYONE ELSE think Johnny Sacks was wired at the wedding to catch Tony?? And I don't think Vito's... you know. No, not gay. DUH. I think he's going to turn R-A-T. Thoughts? Discuss.

Have a GREAT DAY today!! *wanders off muttering Shel Silverstein... "I cannot go to school today, said little..."*

We real cool!

Nice poem. I like Hughes. I was shopping for poetry last night and almost bought his book of haiku (that being my most beloved form of poetry). I decided on two other books instead, but will probably go back for Hughes eventually. :)

I don't think Vito's going to ... you know, either. I'm of mixed mind though of whether he turns rat or gets whacked. We'll see. I'm curious to see if Fin gets pulled into this, if anyone will find out that he knew about Vito being gay. And I have to say I was pretty shocked (and cracking up laughing) at Vito's little 'leatherman' outfit. I was not expecting that at all. But I was enjoyed it immensely.

I hadn't really thought about Johnny being wired ... very interesting. He loves his family and he wants out of jail and he's got major money issue right now, so it's possible. Hmm... Something to think on.

My SO and I were wondering at the end if Tony was puking blood or if he was supposed to have just eaten something with red sauce. My money's on blood. Not good.

Oooooooh, Hughes is one of my faves. Gwendolyn Brooks, James Merrill, two other faves. I enjoy the haiku, and I enjoy teh haikus you post, as well.

And Tony's pretty much gunning for grandkids and is pushing Finn to be his son in law (even though I don't think he'll stick around - he's gonna spook, and he's gonna spook HARD.) If anyone touched Finn, I think Tony'd do 'em like that. *snaps* Vito's pretty smart - he won't touch him.

I immediately thought it was blood - he still has stiches! And Muscles Marinara elbowed him in the incision twice. GAH. I had to look away. OUCH.

Dude, Langston Hughes is the greatest. Harlem Renaissance, hell YES.

Also I love April because I have a perfectly legitimate reason to shout lines from various poems in my apartment for no good reason. Other than, y'know, it scares the cat.

Wheeee!

{weak wave}

April gives me a good reason to feel guilty about not writing poetry, which is supposed to be my actual thing, you know.

And I learn once more, every year, that neither assigning someone else to do it nor staring at it while I hang laundry on the line is a reliable way to rid the world of a dead Spirea bumalda.

Julia, also there is pollen out there

GACK. I was COVERED in pollen yesterday from an invasive artemesia I'm testing for TAMU. Loooong shower. I'm itching just remembering it.

(I'm a bit too lazy right now to trudge out back and pull up the name. Let's just say it looooooves my hard clay and sun.)

It's just... they made a point of dressing and undressing him, you know? At first I thought it was so they could make the GQ/patent leather joke, but then again, that would have been a HUGE missed opportunity on the Feds part.

And Sacks has a need to get out, you know? Could be why they made a show of blocking his daughter's car, him crying... That seemed a bit out of character to me. Even though he's a sucker for his family.

Mmmmm Poetry. Love that stuff. Three years ago you'd have needed bribes and threats of violence to get me in the same room as a book of poetry, but now I love it. Especially the emo ones that make me cry in the middle of the night because it's all just so beautiful.

Shel Silverstein!

Birds are flyin' South for winder.
Here's the Weird-Bird headin' North.
Wings a-flappin', beak a-chatterin',
Cold head bobbin' back 'n' forth.
He says, 'It's not that I like ice
Or freezin' winds and snowy ground.
It's just sometimes it's kind of nice
To be the only bird in town.'

Hope I got all the apostrophes right... and the author. *eep*

VERY NICE!!

I'm not familiar with that one - the only Shel Silverstein I do know is all of his kid's poems.

"I do not want a tug of war
I only want a hug of war" and so forth. Toe wriggling fun stuff.

OoooOOoooh. Didn't think about the "in power/fall ill" thing. Good one.

(Oh, GOD I want Paulie to get wacked. Seriously. Makes me sick to watch him, which just means the actor is doing a fantastic job.) Oh, I am SO worried about Anthony! I think he's too lazy, actually.

God I love Carmella. And I love how Dr. Melfi is Robert Duval's consigliere in The Godfather, although uinwittingly so.

hi sweetheart! I'm late in getting back to comments, but you know I love you, so we're good. :)
From: [identity profile] likeadeuce.livejournal.com
1) I didn't see him on HIMYM (I'm supposed to get a copy eventually) but I understand he plays a smug sleazy anchorman. Doesn't that pretty much call for fic in which he was mentored by the great Ron Burgundy? I'm just asking. And if someone was to write that fic, it would pretty much have to be you. I'm just pointing out.

2) In a state of half-sleep, I found myself drifting off remembering all the "great" Primary songs like "I hope they call me on a mission" and "we are as the armies of Helaman." Since it's probably not a big secret that in my mental fanon Wesley: Watcher's Council::Me: Mormons, I suddenly had an image of lots of little baby watcher-wannabes singing Primary songs about how they're going to grow up and nurture their slayers and wipe the vampire scourge from the earth. Once again, if anybody was going to write those songs (which would be amusing to, umm, all the lapsed Mormon Buffy fans) it would again have to be you.

NOT that I am in any way bugging you to write these. I just thought I'd take the opportunity to plant evil seeds in your brilliant brain.

From: [identity profile] stoney321.livejournal.com
(Uh.... what's HIMYM?)

I write Ron Burgundy posts every Sunday! Hahahaha!! Oh, smarmy newsmen. How I love you.

I love that you've just mentioned re-tooling songs, for I have re-tooled the most politically incorrect song possible for tomorrow's post re: Easter. And after that goes up, the world will know once and for all how truly broken inside I am...
