So, I'm listening to music to get a "Connor Mix" made and posted, and while listening to music, I must have accidentally dragged two folders over instead of the one, because the Pee Wee's Playhouse theme song comes on, which leads me to download the Danny Elfman soundtrack to Pee Wee's Big Adventure, one of the best comedy movies of all time. (Shhhhh! I'm listening to reason!) From there I get to New Order (I know. It makes no sense.) which brings me to The Cure, and I'm grooving in my office, then Monty Python "Brave Sir Robin" pops on, and I think about the absolute hilarity of "That's...enough singing for now, lads," and how much I love that British men call young boys/subordinates "lads" which leads to the Chris Elliot movie "Cabin Boy" (I think only my sister Beth and I watched that one...) in which David Letterman is a merchant chomping on a cigar, and asks Chris if he's one of those "fancy lads."
And I really, really wish Connor's story arc wasn't so damn serious, because "All Things Dull And Ugly" is such a perfect (albeit snarky) song for his time with Holtz and the training of how all things horrible in their lives is a result of Angelus' evil. And I'm looking up Rube Goldberg machines and singing the "Breakfast Machine" song from Pee Wee's Big Adventure.
And writing a story about the Hall of Justice as a corporation with boring meetings about stock buy-ins.
This has been a look into the mind of Laura, brought to you by the letters O, M and G. (I should be put down, I think.)

I'm a loner, Dottie. A rebel. You don't want to get mixed up with a guy like me.

Also, I want a nap. Meh.

So take a nap! Throw a jacket over yourself and say you're doing another magic act, and this is your disappearing trick. :D

Hahaha, I will try this! I wish I had those menus that fold out, and I could stand them around myself. Or, er, a screen, since that would be easier and an adult version of what I'm talking about.

"Mr. Herman? Paging Mr. Herman. You have a telephone call, sir." *eyes camera shiftily*
Or, if you close your eyes at your desk, and someone wakes you up, sit up and say, "In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen."

Date: 2006-06-16 05:58 pm (UTC)"Did you get that memo on TPS reports and coversheets?"
"Yeah, I'm... I'm not going to work anymore."
And now I'm thinkin gof Apocolypse Now and I REALLY need to take my Ritalin. WOW. *cracks up*

Date: 2006-06-16 06:24 pm (UTC)One of my favorite parts of "Pee Wee's..." is him randomly coming across Twisted Sister making a video (and it's the only good song they ever made.)

<-- so this icon is meaningless to you, huh? WOE!
Date: 2006-06-16 06:47 pm (UTC)REALLY? Never anything Monty Python? Of any sort? That's what I cut my teeth on with humor - fortunately I had parents/family with good humor appreciation. ANd "Pee Wee's Big Adventure" is fantastic! If you liked his children's show, you'll LOVE the movie!!

Date: 2006-06-16 07:24 pm (UTC)We never saw Pee Wee's Big Adventure, but I do remember watching his Playhouse back on those lazy Saturdays when I actually watched cartoons and the like for my *own* amusement. That seems so very long ago. You know it's weird to think that Saturday mornings aren't quite the same now, cartoons aren't concentrated on just that morning anymore because you can get them any time you want! On multiple channels! Kids these days... so spoiled... we had to walk uphill both ways in the snow to get our cartoons...

Date: 2006-06-16 07:31 pm (UTC)I'm heading out to buy Pee Wee on DVD because my kids NEED THAT! One of my favorite bits from the Simpsons, after Marge tells the kids no more cartoons and Lisa - with all sincerity - replies, "but where will we develop our sense of irony?"

Date: 2006-06-16 09:07 pm (UTC)PeeWee's Big Adventure is one of my top 20 comedic films. Fuck, Jan Hooks kills me.
Tina: This is one of my favorite parts of the tour. Say hello to our residents, Pedro and Inez. Pedro is working on an "adobe." Can you say that with me? Adobe
Inez is holding a clay pot, of which she seems to be very proud. She has decorated it with lots of paint and glaze.
I don't know why. I laugh hysterically even when I think of this scene.
:goes back to lurking about waiting for a Conner music cd download::
