len-nox-ed - intr. verb
To be the subject of irrefutable evidence of tom-foolery, ass-hattery, sock-puppetry, and other malevolent forms of wankery in a detailed, heavily linked, and thoughtful presentation.

And I seriously need to not look at any more of it! (um... have we discovered who [livejournal.com profile] charlottelennox is yet? Just insanely curious is all...)

My money's on a chimerical entity, or at least a collective intelligence.

Julia, boy, I'm so glad I'm not in that fandom

Dude, no doubt. And I'll say that I've been a closet R/Hr and H/G shipper for a few years, but I've always just clicked on fics at the big sites, never got into threads, etc., so most of this wank was only stuff I barely knew about.

How EXHAUSTING is all I can think of. So much time and trouble for what? To be liked by nameless people? Jesus, she's the Paris Hilton of HP, without the catch phrase. =P

Whoa...

All of a sudden I feel I can really value the dramalessness and lack of ...that in my fandoms.

Dude, it's the most amazing example of online attention seeking possibly in the history of the Intarwebnets.

http://www.journalfen.net/community/fandom_wank/654718.html

The person who wote it up (10 chapters! Heavily documented!) just hands this girl her ass (but it's not wanky - it's not mean, the subject just totally hung herself with her own rope, is all.) It's really interesting to read, even if you have no investment in the Harry Potter fandom.

I know!! I want to see a follow up in a few months (translation to internet time: two days) ocumenting the fallout, the realizations, the hard-headed hanger ons, and the inside scoop on MsScribe's (new lj name: delawarean, or wtf) reaction.

I WANT IT.

I want a sockpuppet too. Everyone has one. Right?

I'm still not finished reading this stuff. I am so glad that the HP fandom is not on my list. This is just crazy shit if you ask me. Who has this much time to do all this stuff? I know people do, but seriously? Crazy stuff. I'm sticking to my Ats/Btvs/SGA/SG1/possibly Farscape/maybe Doctor Who if I get time fandom. *snort*

The unauthorized biography of Ms. Scribe has eaten my brain. I can not stop thinking about it, and that is after spending I don't know how many hours reading about it. It is completely fascinating to me because it hits all of my behavioural/psychological interests. I am fascinated by behaviour. And that woman was a master manipulator.

Ms. Lennox did a fantastic job of writing a very compelling story and backing up her hunches. She tells a very convincing tale.

I wish I had more insight into the fandom so that I could even guess who she is. CL is all kinds of awesome in my book.

Heee! My friend and I are wondering if she wasn't giving us code all along, as in mis-scribe, "wrongly written." Hahaha!

And ditto on CL and her awesomosity. :)

The whole thing makes me glad that I only lurk on the outskirts of the Potterverse. It was a fascinating read, though.

Hahaha to your icon!!!!!!

(And same here on the lurking. Mostly because I'm het or gen as far as HP is concerned, which is generally frowned on. :D )

hmmm. wouldn't this all be funky if it was someone's sociology PhD thesis? Like the whole thing, from the GET GO was orchestrated by the chick now doing the expose'? Just a thought, implausible, but still...a thought.

Okay, so let me try to wrap my clueless brain around this. Charlotte Lennox wrote a biography of a Ms. Scribe wank? Who is Ms. Scribe and why does she need a biography written? I mean, I went to the link but not being even remotely into HP, I am lost. See? This is why I need to stay away from fandoms that attract children. They're way too advanced for my feeble mind.

Dude, the wank is OUTSTANDING. MsScribe made up people that loved her, so she could get in with the BNFs and on the boards, etc. and make a name.

Including fake antagonists to fuel the flames that resorted to: a) race baiting, b) riling people up against a girl's mother who had cancer, c) getting people to leave fandom - like, not BtVs whining, but really leave, never come back, disappear from the internet altogether.

Oh, and a fake nanny, car wreck for sympathy, on and on. For almost FOUR YEARS. Wow. That's some desperation right there.
