Or Roll the Vote. Unless you're a little bit country, then Country the Vote. See why country music is lame? That doesn't sound right. In all fairness, neither does Zydeco the Vote. Although you would get way more points in Scrabble for that. Possibly a triple word score. I took advantage of Early Voting last week to avoid standing in long lines with Right Wing Christians (sorry if you're one - I don't like the eye rolling I get from my "Go Kinky" t-shirt.) Now, while I don't think Kinky's going to win, I vote my conscious every voting year. Which my dad mocks me for. Every voting year. I hate seeing voting like moves on a chess board. I vote who I want to win, and nothing pisses me off like someone telling me I wasted my vote.

NOT VOTING IS WASTING A VOTE. [/end voting discussion] Except that ANYONE BUT RICK PERRY is going to be a win. I hate that em eff. And I don't use that word often.

I gotta get moving today, and I found out that my satellite provider has Sirius Satellite built in! No, I don't feel dumb that I've had this for two years and just realized that Alternative Nation with my most favorite DJ ever (George Gimarck) has been with me ALL ALONG. I feel like Dorothy when Glenda said she had the power to get home all along. Which, that needs to be modernized. So Dorothy pulls an AK-47 out of her wee doggie basket and stock-butts Glenda in the gut for making her almost DIE. I mean, Scarecrow was assaulted! "They took some of me out and put me over there! And then they took some of my stuffing and put me over here!" "That's you. All over the place." Okay, now I'm seeing Ross Gellar as the Scarecrow and Chananndler Bong as the Tin Man. Which clearly makes Phoebe Glenda, Rachel is Dorothy (with a hairless cat instead of Toto) and Monica is the Wicked Witch of the East.

I voted for something I don't expect will pass just for the principle of it and even though I fear one of the unintended consequences of it should it pass.

I recall a conversation with a colleague some years ago when she told me she voted for Nader even though she knew it split Gore's support base and increased Bush's chance to win. However much she didn't want Bush to win, she felt supporting the existence of a third political party was more important. Then there was one of my BFFs who voted for the original Bush over Dukakis solely based appearance - she could care less about what each of them stood for, Bush "looked more Presidential" so he got her vote.

ACK! Voting because someone LOOKS presedential. Yowza. I do agree with the idea that supporting the existence of a third party is beneficial. Here, even if Perry gets the projected 37% (at last polling) of the vote, he'll win. HOWEVER: the other three candidates will be getting 63% of the vote, albeit divided up. That should show this yahoo that 67% of the state DISAGREES with him and his big money/corp. ways.

At least, let's hope.

And I'm FRICKIN' CRACKING UP at your icon, hahahaha!!

Yeah, I'd come to the same conclusion- a vine on a dome trellis, probably. It's not mandevillia, though (which I think might want drier air than Houston)- the assymetrical trumpets are wrong. So I'm out of guesses and through all my reference works.

I will say, though, that's a remarkably Seattle looking garden- the north side of Capital Hill, going down to the arboretum, is full of that kind of close-planted high contrast foliage and accent flower design.

Julia, feeling as if I've been kidnapped to the swamp planet this morning

Your list looks like my list- except I did toilets Friday, so I have to vacuum the ceiling around the bathroom fans instead. I was supposed to go buy leggings, et'c and send them to [livejournal.com profile] weird_cowgirl, but it's raining and thence the truck, it will not start.

the Mandevilla that grows in South Texas can be invasive in places.

ACK, I forgot to add dust the fan blades to my list. GROAN. That means digging out the tall ladder, and NOT making the bed until that's done, grump grump grump...

So Dorothy pulls an AK-47 out of her wee doggie basket and stock-butts Glenda in the gut for making her almost DIE.
Ha! That Glenda is so self-satisfied! Notice how she never has even a smidge of muck on her huge pink ballgown, and there were FLYING MONKEYS! Not the good kind. :(

But sockmonkeys = YAY and <3

I'm serious! Glenda with the not caring about anyone else but her minions and gowns and nails and tiara while Dorothy was taken in the air by FLYING MONKEYS who didn't have the benefit of their prehensile tails, because the WWotE was all about order and cleanliness with the trousers (I mock you with my monkey pants) and they could have DROPPED HER. Not to mention the liar bastard that is the Wizard. (Did you ever read Wicked by Gregory Maquire? I loved it - a goot satire and political commentary, imo.

SOCKMONKEYS!! :(|)

Early voting definitely sounds better than standing in line! I'm lucky in that even during heavy turnouts my polling place is never too bad that way. At most there's just a bunch of friendly people and I maybe have to wait my turn after a handful of folks. Today was one of the busiest days I've ever seen. [livejournal.com profile] liz_marcs says in her recent post that our turnout today in Massachusetts may break records.

So the BFF is visiting! I know you will have TONS of fun.

I think I saw those sockmonkey sheets in a catalog myself. They were darn cute.

I just saw Liz's post, which is fantastic! And as for how it is to vote here, our old neighborhood was just like that: the fire station three blocks down was where we voted. The volunteers that ran the operation always had cookies and things, so when Em was a baby (or before she was born when #2 and The Boy were in the stroller) it was fun for them and I'd be in and out within minutes.

I tried to duplicate that here in the 'burbs, and I waited in line with over a hundred people. Not fun when you're trying to keep bambinos happy. On one hand, yay turnout! On the other, this is one of the most solidly Red Counties in Texas, so I always got depressed seeing how many of the Christian Right came in to vote "morally." Which, don't get me started.

BFF!! I'm so excited! We weren't sure if she could tag along with her husband for his conference, so this is a surprise bonus! Plus, we're making plans for me to go out there in January and help her plan a garden for their new house in Tallahassee. (10.25 acres! She can keep her horse on her property!!)

Oh, and the sockmonkey sheets (Nick and Nora designs, which are my absolute fave) are from Target! WOOT.

STRIPEY SOCKS!!!

Know another reason why I love you? No, it's not Zydeco, although that one's close. It's that you wrote Channdler Bong. MS. Channdler Bong! Best Friends ep, ever.

I'm wearing my I VOTED sticker. I hope I voided the scary-granny-name-caller's vote.

Homemade bread! I have stew in the crockpot. Lots of carrots. I like 'em carrots.

NICK AND NORA! Those are great PJs, too. And Target - always a yes. Back to work! (Ish)

I just got back and saw the jammies for grownups, too! But they are fleece, which I am categorically against in Texas, because it's Texas. Also, I get tangled up and trapped in the bed. Because I am a dork.

Hahaha, I kind of want to write that episode of Friends with them as the Wizard of Oz. *makes plans to do just that*

NUMB CUNT. You shouldn't sit so much on your vibrating chair pad. You'll go blind. Or get hairy palms. (GO SEE MY SEKRIT POST, omg.)
