First the Ha Ha: The History of Mormonism (from South Park) This is never not funny to me. Because it's factually correct. (The clip, not the Mormon Church.) Dum dum dum dum dum!

Second, the OooOOooh: life size scrolling to illustrate how GINORMOUS a blue whale is.

Running around like a chicken with its head cut off. One armed-paper hanger. One legged man in a butt kicking contest. Two-peckered rabbit. That being said, I'm doing so good I may need to hire someone to help me enjoy it. :D [/Southernisms] Hopefully I'll have garden pictures soon, for those interested!

[ETA} because I completely forgot that I wanted to "record" this: the kids flew their kites this weekend, one a bald eagle - 6ft. kite span, the other a Japanese WW2 plane (marking under the wings that look like eye spots, we figured) and Sally FREAKED OUT. I tried taking her outside with me today and she's STILL nervously scanning the skies for the ginormous bird wot gonna et her up. *pets the pooch* *the 82 pound pooch* Ahahaha, poor thing.

Oh my god, thank you for the South Park link. I will rewatch that as soon as possible. But that reminds me, did you see the one they did on Scientology? HIGH-sterical. I was boggling at the brilliance at the end of it.

I'm doing so good I may need to hire someone to help me enjoy it.

Bwah! Awesome expression, and I'm glad to hear it. Yays!

Heee! That one and "I'm so much fun, I should be twins" are the epitome of how my family speaks. :)

And I DID see that Scientology one - HILARIOUS.

I got your email re: plants. THANK YOU. Another thing I meant to ask--do I need to go to a specialty garden shop to get any/all of those plants or will a Home Depot/Lowe's/Wal-Mart type place suffice? I can't wait to get some pretty, pretty flowers for my patio!

Just think how good it will feel when you stop tonight and look back on everything you did. Also, this:

I'm doing so good I may need to hire someone to help me enjoy it.

is one of my mom's favorite expressions ever. Southern to the core, that lady is.

I'm really looking forward to sitting outside on my new patio furniture with a minty limeade and a book - it's finally starting to come around, that section.

And you should be able to get the plants I listed at Home Depot/Lowes. Maybe not all, but most. The Cyprus vine is probably only by seed - it's one of those rare finds, but an old time flower that you can ALWAYS get seed for.

I have lived all my life with a blue whale hanging over my head (The Museum of Natural History has a life size model hanging up in the rotunda). No need to scrool.

And I am waiting for garden pics. Spring graden clean up this weekend, most likely

I actually got a little claustrophobic scrolling on that picture. EEEEE. So. Freaking. Huge.

I'm waiting for a few more things to bud, then picture spam ahoy! Good luck with your clean up! (And don't forget to stretch out your back!)

Oh, COOL!!! I can't wait to come see it and you, then! And I DID read your Rome post, but I'm unable to TALK ABOUT ROME as of yet. GAH.

Atia. Oh my GOD. I loved that show. Siiiiiiigh.

That South Park was hilarious.

Even with knowing a family member and several of her ward-mates, Mormonism remains a mystery to me. There are just SO MANY ILLOGICAL THINGS to take on faith...which I suppose doesn't work so well for the cynics of the world like myself. Plus there's the seemingly never-ending cheerful facade that's hard to break through (oh sure we're dirt poor since only my husband works and we have 6 kids under the age of 10 that I'm stuck in the house with ALL DAY LONG...but it's all thanks to God's blessing so OF COURSE I'm happy and OF COURSE I can't wait to get pregnant again).

Feel free to click on the tag "mormons" to read my opinions/posts about it. *g* And I'm like you: that's a hell of a lot to take on faith, my goodness!!

I remember when I first saw that SP episode, it had me in tears I was laughing so hard. Guess what? It's still just as funny. I *heart* South Park. :)

*smilenod* YES. Still SO FUNNY. They spoof the Mormons all the time, which cracks me up. (The Fourth of July one where they built the largest "snake" ever? Because real fireworks were banned? Hahahahahaha!)

Yup. With quartz rocks over his eyes like glasses. (Or sometimes, they were just in the hat and he'd bury his face in it. And could "see" the translation.)

Yeah.

Yeah, I STILL get pissed at how WELL we're trained to not listen to people. Because they're SATAN. And they just wanna make the crystal eye-glasses and Indian grave robbing and 13 year old wife-stealing sound BAD. When it's what God Wanted.

O_O

And of course anyone who WOULD want to make Brother Joseph sound bad was obviously OFFENDED by some trivial little thing like not getting the missionary meal rota in Relief Society. ...and didn't have a testimony to begin with.

...and has HORNS AND A TAIL AND A FORKED TONGUE.

Okay, I work with Mormons, and one of them tried to convert me the other day. I had never seen the South Park video before, but it is PERFECT. Bwahahaha!

Heeeeeee! See, I was raised Mormons. My family came across with the Martin Handcart company. So yeah - this cracks me up because they REALLY did their research. It's insane!!

I'd never seen that SP clip before! We'd seen the Scientology one, but this -- is hilarious. Whee! Thanks for that laugh.

I'm going to save the Blue Whale site for the kids this afternoon. That's very impressive. This summer might be a good time to take them whale watching. Humpbacks, of course. Ron and I did that the summer before Evan was born and it was fantastic. Although for the first time in my life I had a small case of seasickness! I think because I was pregnant.

Poor Sally with the kites. Dogs need their moms to protect them from the harsh and cruel world.
