Aww, Skidboot. RIP. (He had to be put down Sunday.) That just started my day off on a sad note. :( His owner had to go away by himself in the woods to grieve for a few days, too. Bless that sweet cowboy's heart.

"Life is too precious to be upset. If he goes blind, I'll hand lead him everywhere. I love this dog. If anybody has ever had a child, then they know how I feel about this dog." David Hartwig, owner of Skidboot.

Sally and I are going to go for a long walk, then she's getting lots of treats and cuddles today.

[ETA] *Throws hands up in disgust* That's it. Taking a mental health day.

"Doesn't reflect the current administration's thinking."

Well, considering that the current administration thinks that animals and forests get in the way of making money that allows them to buy more diamond-encrusted dickwipers, I suppose we can't say that that statement is untrue.

You're the second person on my flist to mention a pet dying today. "sigh"
And, of course, the wildlife aren't doing too well either - thanks George.

80%? How does anyone even begin to think that's acceptable? This administration continues to astound me with their compassion and forward, big-picture thinking. *headdeskforever*

Aw, I'm sorry to hear about Skidboot. That man and his dog were amazing.

The other story I'm avoiding for now to protect my sanity and blood pressure. Sigh.

Aw, now I'm melancholy too. I kept thinking about Officer Buckle and Gloria (did your kids read that book?) while watching the video about Skidboot. Give Sally a cuddle from me, please.

Awww, skidboot looks like my Riley! She has some of those characteristics in her personality, too. Cattle dogs rock! I know just how David feels about his weebit.

Sick husband at home, Skidboot R.I.P., and idiot current administration horror. I am bummed out on so many different levels right now. I need to make some comfort food right this minute...

Rest in peace, Skidboot. May there be plenty of rabbits to chase and balls to catch in doogy heaven.

Skidboot was one heck of a dog.

And yes. The second story makes me simmer with rage too.
