#1, I have just returned from dropping [livejournal.com profile] southernbangel off at the airport, and we had a fantastic weekend. She's going home with a full belly (Mmmm, Mexican food every day = \o/) and sunburned, but hopefully happy. :)
#2, I have turned her into a fangirl of HP, which is AWESOME.
#3, she didn't run off with my husband, [livejournal.com profile] marenfic, but she TRIED. Oh, she tried. Hahaha.
#4, we saw Blades of Glory, and while I laughed because Will Arnet and Will Ferrell make me happier than a pig in proverbial droppings, Jon Heder and Jenna Fischer were... meh. It's no Anchorman. "I'm... I'm kind of a big deal."
#5, because I've gotten several emails from people wanting to make sure I'm aware of the PBS 2-part documentary on Mormons starting tonight (7pm CST), YES. I am aware. :D I was going to post about it, but I didn't want to break away from my guest to get on LJ. (Aww. I'm all thoughtful like that.) WATCH THE PROGRAM! You can be sure that I'll have a post tomorrow about it, so there's your warning. *g*

Confidential to [livejournal.com profile] entrenous88: I'm concerned about something in that article you sent to me where the reporter said of the church: "admirably forthright about their religion’s history." I've yet to EVER find that to be true. Remind me to tell you about the lecture series my dad invited me to about the Mountain Meadow Massacre.

Kids are home, homework needs to be tackled, and I need to take a deep breath and dive into my book Middlesex (as well as the bad!fic [livejournal.com profile] dancetomato sent me, wheeee!) Have a WONDERFUL afternoon, all! <3 <3

Hey, glad you had a fun time with your company.

That PQ Converter I posted this weekend....the one whose serial/registration was dead.....well, I uploaded another one. It's IMTOO and not too bad to work with. This file has all kinds of converters... I feel bad for posting faulty equipment.

IMTOO Converter. Read the .txt file first. And, go ahead and register each converter type with the key generator included, so that when you want to use them down the road, it's not expired or something...

Let me know if you have any problems with this. I've used the mov avi converter to convert a .mov file to .avi without problems. But, I do have some other converter files that I can share if you end up having problems with this.

Oh, totally -- that was the reason I sent you the article, that whole first paragraph which seemed so pro-Mormon Church (I may not have been too clear about my reaction).

At any rate, I was surprised that there wasn't way more skepticism on the part of the NYTimes writer. When he said the part about bringing to light things as a show of good faith, I thought he was going to follow by saying, "and the Mormon church has not done that."

Weird!

No, I got your reaction. I'm right on board with you with buhzuhment as to their kind treatment. (And I have theories as to why that is, btw.)

I'm VERY INTERESTED in this show!! AND YOU! HI, MY JESS!!! *hugs you to bits and pieces* I miss you! :(

Yay! I'm going to look now to see what time the show airs on our station.

AWwwwwwwww, HI! <3 <3 <3 I miss you too! It was so nice knowing you and Lee were having a weekend o' fun; still, I was all, awwww, no emails from my Stoney, sad! But now you are back in the emailing/posting game, so huzzah!

Btw, I'm so happy you're going to read Middlesex. That was one of the best books I read last year.

*clings to you like a baby monkey :(|)*

I'm very excited to start reading Middlesex... It's been on my list of things to read for a while, so I'm finally getting to cross it off the list, hurrah! (And I quite enjoyed - and ached throughout - "The Curious Incident..." Very well written book that hit close to home.)

SMOOCH! SMOOCHITY SMOOCH!

Hi Lee! :P

#1 I am so glad you had fun! And fed her right.
#2 OMG are we going to get Lee HP squee?

#4 I think I have confessed to you before that I am not much for Ferrell. Or his type of movies. (Though I LOVED Stranger Than Fiction. But that was out of his box.) But I *liked* this one. Plus I think I ship those two. Ferrel and Heder, I mean. I thought Heder was great.
#5 Ha! I look forward to the post.

I've heard Middlesex is great. Glad you had a nice time! <3

<-- heeeeee!

We had a GREAT time. And boy, did we eat some Mexican food and drink many drinks, whoooo.

And I know, I know, you're not a Ferrell fan. (I've heard terrific things about Stranger than Fiction - I'm sad to say I've yet to see it. There's only so much time, you know?) But I have to say that I do NOT understand people loving Heder. I think he's never going to get beyond Napoleon Dynamite, personally. I find him incredibly unattractive, and I thought he was very flat - not a lot of comedy acting chops, imo. But apparently I'm the only person that felt that way, I'm finding.

Lee recced Middlesex, and I've heard from a few others, too, so I'm very much looking forward to reading it! (Oh, side note; I thought of you often while reading "The Curious Incident of the Dog at Night-Time" and thought it was a PERFECT book for you. I highly recommend it, and actually planned to post about it, as it touches on some topics that are very important to me.)

Mexican food and drink many drinks, whoooo.

My kinda party!

I've heard terrific things about Stranger than Fiction - I'm sad to say I've yet to see it.

Oh no! I thought of you the whole time I watched it, and was wondering if that's where you got the idea for cookie porn. Because there is a cookie porn scene moment, I swear to you, hon. It's an excellent flick; I still like the concept better than the execution, but I pretty much expected to, and in many other ways it was far better than I expected. So, high rec, here!

The thing is I hated Napoleon Dynamite. With a passion. I can't stand it and I can't stand him in it and yeah. So, yeah, maybe he's flat, but that worked for me here. Though I did think there were some nuances!

The Curious Incident of the Dog at Night-Time

I almost bought that on booktape once, but think was voted down by other car trip members! Cool. I need to write that down before I forget.

Again, glad you and Lee had such a good time!

I'm glad you had a great time with Lee. Even if she is a well know husband stealer.

I am looking forward to your thoughts on the documentary tomorrow, I'm sure it will be fascinating.

You've made another HP fan! And had a great weekend! Wonderful!

I wondered when I would hear you talk about Blades of Glory, since I know you're such a huge Ferrell fan. There are some ice skating fans on my flist that I thought would be more into that movie too, but it has not caused the buzz that I assumed it would. Interesting! It's not up my alley at all, either way.

I saw in the paper today that the documentary on the Mormons was produced right here in Boston by WGBH, and the speculation was that the motivation to create it was ratcheted up a little higher by homegrown sentiment against our departed and *unlamented* ex-governor Romney. The documentary is supposedly unbiased but will not spare much toward the Mormons.
