I just made a batch of brownies, and they looked... weird. The batter. I stuck them in the oven, all grossed out by how... mealy and granulated the batter looked. I was wiping off the counter/putting things away when I saw the FLOUR on the counter. *headdesk times a million*

I pulled the pan out, added the flour, whisked it in, and I will probably have to chisel these summbitches out of the pan when they're done. At least the ice cream base I made earlier turned out okay... (We're having brownie bottomed sundaes for dessert. All made from scratch. Mmmmm, comfort food.)

Hey, send me one of those sundaes, m'kay?

(I once used salt for sugar in a sugar cookie recipe. Needless to say, they were awesome.)

*sends it through the pneumatic tube* FWOOMP!

Ahahaha! Did you make ornaments and paint them?

LOL. Yeah, adding the flour could help. ;-)

Enjoy those sundaes! We've been having banana splits this week. Chris wanted them on Sunday so I picked up some hot fudge, bananas, and whipped cream. We already had caramel and vanilla and strawberry ice cream. Talk about a little bit of heaven. Yum.

Oh, bleurgh. They look like blondies. I haven't taste tested them, yet. I think I'll get The Boy to do it...

MMMMM banana sundaes! Yum yum. That sounds so good right now!

They were faboo, plus with the banana we can pretend they're "healthy". ;-)

Sometimes the strangest things taste good. :-)

I have a friend who's chocolate cake is to die for and her secret is that she adds a cup of mayonnaise to the mix!

Oops. My inner pedant forces me to change that to "whose chocolate cake". :-)

Hahaha.

Oooh, I have a cake that uses mayo in the recipe! It's the most moist, delicious cake. Mmmmmmm.

Ditto this one! She won't make it for me all that often, darn it. :-( Even puppy dog eyes don't work.

Once I made brownies and left out the flour. So I made them again and used salt instead of sugar. So I made them again; by that time I was out of butter, so I used...5 year old crisco.

Next time I made brownies I left out the flour again.

I...don't make brownies any more.

I hope yours turned out okay!

O.O

Yes, I think using a mix is in order. Oh, you poor thing! I hate making things and having them turn out badly - it's such a waste of food! (Um, that's one of my weird things.) And they didn't look very pretty (more tan than brown) but they tasted fine, so...

We covered them in ice cream so we didn't have to look at them. :)

Ha ha ha! I bet when you covered them with enough ice cream they tasted just fine.

I once used soy sauce instead of Worcestershire sauce. Or was it the other way round? In any case, you can imagine it wasn't a success...

Oh, they tasted GREAT with all that homemade ice cream on top. :D

Soy sauce? haha, yeah, I bet those don't work as substitutions... The worst is when you don't realize your milk has turned and you pour that in something. *gag*

You do not suck!

Though this is exceedingly funny. But little was lost--you rememebred the flour in time.

I wonder what the flourless mixture woudl have done in the oven, though...

Anyway, ice cream makes everything better. So do cheese and bacon! ...Thinking a little further about this, though, maybe ice cream makes on catergory of things better. Not sure how I'd feel about a broccoli and neapolitan ice cream quiche.

(And I've done precisely what you have done, except it was my keys that I left out of my pocket, and I didn't understand that weird empty feelnig in my jeans until well after the door had closed. :( )

Oh my goodness, I am the QUEEN of typos in comments, purlease.

And you have described my biggest fear: being locked out. *bangs on the windows*

I almost (almost!) let those flourless brownies bake just to see that very thing. :D I was going to pass them off as "gluten free" if they turned out disgusting. Heee!

I once put two banana breads in the oven, and then realized I had forgotten to add the eggs.

I snagged them out, mixed in the eggs as best I could in the pan, and baked them. They tasted pretty much the same! O_o

I hope your flour-less/full brownies turned out a-ok!

I pulled the pan out after it had baked for a minute or two and whisked in the flour. They weren't pretty (tan, and not brown. Huh.) but they tasted fine! Um... they didn't lift from the dish as easily since I mixed in all of the greasing/flouring I did before pouring in the batter...

I've done that with eggs, too. Sheesh. But they tasted the same? Huh! Why didn't I get you to make me banana bread while you were visiting? :(

Heee, maybe because I was a sniffling nose-blowing wreck, and you didn't want me to spread my diseases to your household?

But I will make you banana bread the next time I visit you! *beams*

Hahaha. That must have been a subconscious thought, then. :D I'll just chalk that up under our big list of plans we didn't get to. *beams back*

Oooh, yes! And there needs to be waffles when you come back, too!
