IF MY CHILDREN EVER EVER EVER DO THIS WHILE I AM AWAY I WILL GROUND THEM UNTIL THEY ARE MARRIED WITH THREE KIDS!!

([livejournal.com profile] a2zmom: you might want to keep an eye on your youngest. This is RIGHT up his alley, ahaha.)

*okay, that is totally freaking cool, and I have a crush on these high school boys. Lock me up, because I'm too bad to be free.

And someone please bring me some pain killers and muscle relaxers. I moved a HALF TON (literally!) of compost and manure today and I am enfeebled.

I was too tired for a bath! I took a loooooooong shower and collapsed on my bed and watch Food Network. :D I just sent the mister off to get some sushi for our din, then it's drinky drinky time!

(And I would too! Even though I would murder my son if he did that to our house.)

That was AWESOME! Though, where the hell were the neightborhood girls? I would totally have been on some of that rooftop slippy slide action when I was a stoopid teen. Broken neck be damned, I was immortal, too!

Actually, as an adult, that makes me afraid for parents everywhere. It was terribly inspirational...

You moved half a ton of compost in this heat and humidity?!? My husband's cleaning out the '68 Chevelle, and it's all I can do to drink a beer and fan myself...

Yeah, right? Those boys must live on a block like the one I lived on in high school: all boys and me and my sisters the only girls. (I loved that block like flowers love rain.)

We used to jump off our neighbor's roof onto the trampoline, then flip into the pool. I get cold sweats thinking of doing that again. The broken necks we could have gotten!! One guy in my school actually died trying to recreate that when he was drunk. :(

I did! I need a full body massage, nachos, margaritas STAT. I am EXHAUSTED.

Oh hell, that looks like a BLAST! I'd probably end up being mangled, but I'd totally try it!

Oh no! Poor, aching body. *sends meds*

Oh, to be sure, I would TEWTALLY do it. But I'd skin my kids alive if they rigged something like that up at my house when I wasn't there and had all their buddies risk their necks, too!

*loads on on yer meds*

I showed my daughter, and she is going to send the link to all her friends. I told her to include a disclaimer.

It looked like a total blast!

Danger Will Robinson. ::puts down danger sign::

LOL We were joking that there will have to be construction instructions attached to the friend's emails.

I just showed that video to Zachary. He got an evil grin and said "Remind me to do that if you go out of town".

I'd like to know how they calculated how far their bodies would travel before ending up in the pool.

You deserve to have a cabana boy give you a full body massage after all that hard labor.

Ahahahaha, I figured he'd think it was totally awesome. And the Mister and I were wondering what this kid's physics grade looked like, ourselves!

Mmmmmm, yes please! Hell, make it 2 cabana boys. :D (I'm still crippled this morning. OUCH.)

I noticed one of them in a sling in the beginning.

But on the other hand, think of how well they're doing in those calculus classes. Math nerds are too cool!

We saw this on America's Funniest Home Videos last week-end, though of course the fact that they built it while the parents were out of town was NOT in the intro.

I'm thinking they excelled in physics - or they SHOULD be if they're doing this in lieu of their homework. :D

Oh, and did you notice that after the first run they parked a van under the slide for more support? :| Can you imagine if that broke apart? I'm such a mom, I can't help it.

That slide is damn cool but I couldn't stop wincing. What a parents nightmare!

Hope you feel better, and get a nice rest!

*clutches you* YES! Their homeowners insurance if anything had gone wrong! The lawsuits!! (I may be scarred from a neighbor who made all of us kids get our parents to sign insurance waivers before we were allowed to jump on their trampoline...)

I feel sore, but it's a good hurt. We're off to soak in the pool for a few hours, that's always good for what ails you. :D

OMG, that totally looks like fun...for youngsters who still bounce, that is.
nds you some of my ibupofen, a soothing cup of tea, and a handsome masseur*
Gosh, and I thought I worked hard today, but I only helped to load 53 bales of hay onto the truck, and unload and restack them in the barn. You win!

From: [identity profile] stoney321.livejournal.com
HOOOOOOOOO. I don't know - bales of hay are no picnic to move, and that's a BUNCH! All that twisting and tossing? You need a back massage, I'm sure! (And are your hands ripped up? I always ruined my work gloves and got blisters anyway.)

Here, I'll share my ibuprofen and the masseur. :D

All I could think about while watching that clip is the liability of the homeowner should any of those kids get seriously hurt. My god I'm getting old.

Well, I'm right there with you, because that's the first thing I thought of, too! Not just that but how dumb those guys were for putting ALL OF THEIR NAMES on the end, including the kids that showed up at night time. I can just see one mom finding that and writing them all down and playing telephone tree with all the parents.

(I also wondered what the hell the NEIGHBORS were thinking!)

OK, Ron said that looked incredibly cool and fun. But would we ever leave our kids alone long enough to get in that kind of trouble? Aha ha ha ha ha! NO.

Can you imagine leaving your kids alone for TEN DAYS???? Ye gods.

Date: 2007-08-26 07:32 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] stoney321.livejournal.com
My parents NEVER left us alone for more than a night - like, them going out, not LEAVING.

And yeah - it does look cool and fun after several of them go down it. I was terrified for that kid on the first run.

Hahaha, it reminds me of ME when I was in college! Which is why I'll kill my children if they do anything like this. :D

(And thanks! A good long soak and a massage = right as rain!)

I was terrified somebody was going to break his spine the whole time. Though it did make for one hell of a physics test.

*clutches you*

SERIOUSLY!!! Oh, and when that one kid missed the pool!? I gasped.

(And I can just see them turning this video and the "engineering blueprints" to their physics teacher for extra credit. *g*)

From: [identity profile] lumenara.livejournal.com
I don't know if they get bonus points for improvising with the van or lose points for not bracing the slide in the middle. Eeeep.

And yeah, I just kept expecting someone to miss the pool-- I saw a lot of them landing wrong-- so when that kid did, I was all, shit, that's it, broken bones now. And then the "he's fine" screen. I think someone needs to be smacked upside the head.

I have no kids. Why am I such a mom?
