There may be pigs flying on Thursday
Dec. 3rd, 2007 09:24 amWhy, you might be asking? Because apparently, Mitt Romney is going to "discuss his religion" on Thursday in AUSTIN, TEXAS (of all places) to "quiet" the religion question in his U.S. Presidential run. (Come on Clinton/Barak ticket!)
Yeah, right. He's going to talk about how America was founded on freedom of religion, that he believes in Jesus, and let's all get alone *million dollar grin* Don't you believe it. For those who might want to know what the hell he REALLY believes, here are links to old posts I've made about Mitt and the Mormons, Inc, [ 1 ] and [ 2 ]. And let's not forget that the leaders of that religion (of which I used to belong) tell the members: "It is wrong to criticize the leaders of the church. Even if the criticism is true." ~Dallin H. Oaks, one of the "General Authorities."
Also said by the Mormons: "the greatest threat to our way of life is intellectualism, feminism, and homosexuality." THREAT?! Yeah.
Happy Monday. I need donuts - just basic glazed. Maybe with chocolate. And wool socks for my toesies. (And for those curious, yes, the book is still going strong - 58K and going!)

Date: 2007-12-03 04:47 pm (UTC)And I'm amused that Gmail pulled up a sponsored link to DeseretBooks' publication of Mitt Romeny's "unusual story" of his life. I can sum it up: born rich, became richer, believes he'll be a god of his own planet one day. THE END.

Date: 2007-12-03 04:54 pm (UTC)I'm actually really kind of wigged that he might be in the running for president. And the damn democrats don't ever seem to be able to pull together enough to actually do *anything*...
Dear gods.
*shudders*
Just...please, please no. I hope this 'debate' or whatever the fuck it's going to be brings out a *lot* of press about his background and previous actions and just scares people off.

Date: 2007-12-03 05:04 pm (UTC)I lived under him while he was mayor; I faint with horror at what he'd do with the presidency.
Nation's mayor my ass.
Romney is a whole other world of fear.

Date: 2007-12-03 09:41 pm (UTC)We both went out and bought boots, for lo, we did not have any, and that clearly can't continue in this state. Mine are probably way nicer than they have any right to be, but I have been assured that they will remain DRY and I'll still be able to drive in them, both of which seem key. Mr. Nous's are nice and also probably too nice, but seem very unassuming in comparison.
Also, he seems not to have the, "OMG, WE'RE SPENDING MONEY! *cowers*" reaction that I have. He's just like, "great, these seem like they'll last for a good long while, *pays and wears out of store*" whereas I'm clutching mine to my chest and making small eep-ing noises. o_o

Date: 2007-12-03 09:44 pm (UTC):O He must be very confident with the massive non-NYC rent leaving his pocket no more and is all happy about spending money on things not rent-related, YAY. But I'm like you and would be all frugal and prudent and worried and eeping, too. Follow his lead! Then double check the savings account. Hee!<3

Date: 2007-12-03 09:49 pm (UTC)Haha, totally. The boots do seem like they'll last for a while, though, so that's helpful to tell my eep-ing self. We'll see if I can convince myself to wear them out of the house tomorrow (usually it takes, like, a few days before I'll take out anything brand-new and wear it with impunity).
