I've been in radio silence for several days because my dog killed the internet. Just for me and mine, though. Although, I will say that I feel AT&T should share some of the blame for making a flimsy modem/router that can be undone by a wagging tail. There should be scientific tests!!

I FINALLY got my laptop in, and I love it. I will neither confirm nor deny that there have been makeout sessions with my hardware. (She needs a name. Something punkish.) It took forever to get everything moved over (see: Sally Dog's Tail o'Doom) and the handy tool of "mozilla backup" - you can basically move all of your tabs, features, themes, bookmarks, RSS feeds in one file - didn't work. Finally figured out what the problem was: I installed the newest version of Firefox on the new PC. Went back to 2.0.15 and voila, everything was there. I'm leery of upgrading back to 3.0, plus, I think it looks weird. Does anyone else like it? Hmm.

Anyhoo... sorry for not commenting/replying/responding. There have been some things of excitement, namely me meeting all the producers and directors in the area at a big to-do a few nights ago with my agent. (Can I just say how bizarre and awesome that sounds??) I was at a "Women in Film" festival and saw some amazing shorts, most from around the globe. Dovil, it was like you were there with me as there were TWO New Zealand features, and honestly, they were two of the best that night.

While I had no internet and the outside temps were climbing, I caught up on some shows. Okay, why I never watched "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia" is a mystery, because that show is freaking awesome. So squirmy, like "Curb Your Enthusiasm" but for a younger crowd. Absolutely hilarious and non politically correct. I also have a big yen for "My Boys," and I don't care - I love the natural interaction between the friends, it's fantastic. Also, (and this may be only of interest to [livejournal.com profile] moosesal) the new season of The Two Coreys is back on, and they've completely changed the format - it doesn't feel scripted like the first season does - it's more like a grainy, gritty documentary. They had a big falling out at the end of last season, and it shows. Also: they're in COUPLES THERAPY. It's so slashy, it's not even funny. They started yelling at each other for not helping the other when they were being molested, and I swear to God, Feldman was talking about Michael Jackson in code. DUDE. Complete and utter crack. Sunday nights on A&E.

I joined a gym (well, the whole family did) and have a meeting with a personal trainer today. He's evidently a hard ass (rawr) and I'm looking forward to it. It's getting too hot to work out outdoors like I prefer, so this is a good solution, plus, they have a water park there. !!! Who doesn't like water slides? They're slides! I'm so happy I got my knee fixed. Can't wait to do the other one. WHOO!!

What's up with everyone? Did I miss anything?

Coreys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shit. I knew it was coming back on. I'll have to check the bedroom DVR and see if recorded. I think I kept the season pass turned on. I hope so!

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is hilarious. I watched some of s1 but kept forgetting it was one. I have 1 and 2 downloaded to watch all at once when I have time. The show is so cracky.

And finally, I just this morning before reading this downloaded Firefox 3.0 at work to try out. I'm not as much of a power user here as I am at home, so I figured I'd test it on little things. I want a feature that allows me to reorder tabs, dammit. I was searching add-ons this morning and can't find anything that does that. There's stuff that let's you decide where to open one, but not to rearrange them once they're open. *sigh*

The first ep is 12 - I think they're reairing the four that have played so far on Sunday afternoon, so you can catch up then, I'm farly certain.

They don't have anything to reorder tabs? I thought I saw something yesterday... Colored tabs? You can arrange things by color - so you assign each tab a diff. color. I could be wrong on that. If you find anything, I wanna know! (And I'll reciprocate if I find something.)

From: [identity profile] moosesal.livejournal.com
Ooh. I'll check colored tabs. I'd skimmed over it because I thought it was just to color code, not to shift them. I'll have a looksee.

I'll definitely make sure I'm all set-up to record the eps again so I don't miss any. Coreys! I luff them.

I've seen previews for "My Boys" and thought...you know, that actually sounds like decent writing. But I barely have time to watch TV anymore (we get home so late.) I have "Weeds," "BSG," "Lost" and (yes, I'm a dork) "Supernatural" that are must watch shows, everything else falls to the wayside. I've watched "It's Always Sunny," too, but I can't seem to ever keep up with its airing times.

Yay for agent and Women in Film! I can imagine the level of out-of-body awesome that must feel like.

I saw on...something...probably a clip's show...that bit about Corey² and the everything but a sequined glove mention of who his molester was and was all...DUDE.

Bad Sally! But yay for new laptop. I have new nursery pics to post at some point and my life is just pretty much baby-baby-baby as we count down the next few weeks. Although there is nipple amusement in my last post. *cryptically nip-tacular*

Honestly, the dialog between the friends is FANTASTIC. I love that she's a real tomboy and a writer and funny and does dumb things. It all feels natural. Sometimes the need to match her up with someone feels forced, but then the writers get back on track. But it's totally my crack. I might upload all the eps - they're half-way through season 3.

Oh my GOD Feldman. he totally gave his butt cherry to Jackson. <-- I want that on a teeshirt.

I wanna see the nursery! Oh, email me your address (I can't find it) because I have baby things for you... NIPPLE. I will read that, yes I will. :D

I will email you nursery pics here in a bit -- we got the painting done and the crib up but the majority of decor *tosses scarf over shoulder* won't commence until after the show next week. Address sent! Yay baby stuff! *squeezes you hard*

So cool, the meet-up with your agent and all the producers, etc.! Fun, exciting, glamorous and good for your career -- can one ask for anything more?

We upgraded to the new version of Firefox but have yet to take advantage of anything much in the way of features. We are very basic users. Why then did we upgrade? *shrug* Ask my husband, he took a notion to do it one night and here we are.

I want your gym! My gym does NOT have water slides. My gym FAILS.

I installed Firefox 3 on this laptop to try it out, since I'll be getting my new one in by the end of the month. And um... it's ok. The way the browser finds visited urls is interesting. Like the name of my flist is 'I predict a riot', so if I just start typing 'adis723.li...' it'll show up that way, but it'll also show up if I start to type out 'I pred...'. Did that explanation make sense? It took awhile to get used to that, but I think I like it.

A lot of my favorite add-ons were already updated for FF3, but a few still aren't. Tab Mix Plus wasn't when I first installed it and I nearly wept with sorrow, but it's there now.

I'm also not that crazy about any of the compatible themes (I'm using Silvermel, which I do really like, nice and clean, but it's THE ONLY ONE I've liked).

Overall, I'm comfortable with it, but honestly, I'd wait a few weeks if I were you, just to give it a chance to level out. /insane Firefox BLATHER

And YAY! for meeting producers and directors, remember, I'm almost 5'10" and totally willing to be your wrangler if you ever start doing the convention or any other media circuits. I'M JUST SAYIN'.

Freaking water slides, Vin! And a rock climbing wall that I am itching to try out.

And yeah - that description makes sense - my whole thing is the layout changes and colors, because I'm a dork. I think you can't get an update for del.ico.us on your browser plus the tab mix plus that you mentioned, so I might hang on to 2.0 until that comes around. See: I'm a dork. It is not blather - that's the stuff I wanna know! <3

HEE. I will totally need your height to bust through crowds so that Jared and Jensen and I can address the crowds at conventions. Hahahaha!

Do not despair, the delicious add-on was updated a few days ago. I'd cry if I didn't have my handy delicious buttons. CRY TEARS OF EMO PAIN. I'd still say wait though, just cause I'm sure there will be more updates since everyone on the site is begging in comments to all the developers that haven't updated some of the more beloved add-ons.

With the theme I'm using I'm not seeing much in the way of visual differences from 2.0 to 3.0, so I reckon that's the big trick, though it took me almost an entire day to find a theme I was comfortable with.

Date: 2008-07-10 06:13 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] stoney321.livejournal.com
Oh!! That's good to know.

I'm not using anything but the basic theme - I've honestly not checked them out. I should do that. Wait until development addresses current concerns, check.

Was very happy when I saw that it had been updated (LJLogin, I have a few journals to keep up with).

I have a couple of others I use enough that they are missed on FF3, but that's fixable, I think.

Ack, doggy tail o'doom! Heh. Glad you got it fixed.

I upgraded to Firefox 3.o and have no issues, but then i have the totally stripped-down, no frills version, as i don't like 'bells and whistles'. The only problem i had was that, up in the bar at the top where you type in a url? I had that set in the older version to not remember any url, 'cause i hate how it tries to finish what you're typing and also, i don't like to advertise where i've been. So i had to search around for a fix for that, as it wouldn't shut off. But it was easy to find and easy to do, and i'm happy with my upgrade.

I know that some people upgraded and then bailed fast as there were some bugs - probably they're either fixed or getting fixed now. The 'help, my firefox is fuxored!!' forums are easy to use and lots of people on there with lots of fixes, so...

Have fun at the gym!

I tried Firefox 3 but I went back to #2. Three disappeared all my add-ons.

I watched a couple of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" but nobody has a Philly accent and that's a major irritant for me when it's supposed to be in Phila.

I wish I had a waterslide right now.

Me too, plus, I saw that 3 has an option pre-selected to automatically update without asking. I took that off and went back to 2.0.

You know, even though I really like that show, I completely understand. Nothing bugs me more than a show based in the south or Texas and it's such an obviously fake accent. ("Joy" on My Name is Earl is the best accent I've heard, but that's because she's from here.)

Lapto name: Tough Cookie? I suck at coming up with punkish names. Make something funny out of your last name, maybe? My sister's friends all call her "Cooter," no joke.

I always wanted to see "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia." I had a great time in Philly in my teens, so I'm partial to anything with the city in it, and then it turned up in a keywords search on IMDb for "brother-sister incest." NO, I DO NOT KNOW WHY, BUT I MUST FIND OUT!

Wait, wait, wait. On Corey Haim and Corey Feldman: BACK UP. They were molested? When was this revealed?! (I've never seen more than ads for this show) What the hell? What happened? What?!

Cooter has promise, actually... Cooter McGee? L'il Cooter? I'll work on it.

The show is hilarious and it really pushes boundaries, so I think it's right up your alley.

They don't go into details!! But there were rumors of Jackson having a "relationship" with Feldman for a long time; Feldman was called to testify at his trial a few years back, in fact, but he was tight lipped about anything improper.

I'm curious to know what happened to Haim. I want it to be someone like Robert Downey Jr. on a heroin bender when Haim was only 15 or something. Or maybe just read a story about that... Yes, I'm going to hell.
