My workout mix
Oct. 6th, 2008 04:07 pmI've had a couple of people ask for this, and I'm sorry it's taken so long to get up. It's uh... big. Currently I'm walking about 2 1/2 hours 6 days a week with that bumping up to 3 1/2 hours five times a week, so I need a lot of music. This is the newest mix I've made. I replace it every two weeks, or sooner, depending. (If you're wondering why I walk so much, it's because I'm raising money for women with breast cancer - I'm walking 60 miles in one weekend. Feel free to make a donation, should you feel so inspired. It's an amazing organization with every single penny going directly to someone's care, not an administrator.)
I had to break this down into groups, because uploading individual songs would have been redonk. Here's my theory on what I listen to: I like to either rock out, feel like a badass or sexy, or shake my butt. If I can laugh while doing that, it's like Christmas and Halloween made into a cake shaped like ponies. Which is why I've got some Flight of the Conchords and Monty Python here. And South Park. :) I don't want emo music, or classical, or anything that makes me slow down/stop working out. Pick out what you want, toss what you don't. (And let me know if you're taking so I can keep track, por favor.)

Date: 2008-10-06 09:27 pm (UTC)Looking at your music selection, I realize you might get a kick out of Party Fun Action Committee (http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=27807827), which is a parody group that makes fun of pretty much every hip hop and R&B style that there is, plus whatever else strikes their fancy. It's not on their MySpace page, but if you're ever DL-ing stuff, you should see if you can find Mental Storm, which is a nerdcore parody (but in good humor as the guys behind it are nerdcore-adjacent) or Back N Da Daiz, which is a parody of every single one of those "Remember back in the hood how we did this and hung out with so-and-so" songs. Only weird.
Anyway, AWESOME mix. :D

Date: 2008-10-06 09:49 pm (UTC)And just a word of warning, I have the PFAC album, and I hadn't been to their MySpace page before just now. They have a song on there that I realize is supposed to be a parody (natch), but it seems kind of homophobic. I'm not sure if I should be offended or not... Just letting you know. :p
But "I Shoulda Known" is hilarious...

Date: 2008-10-07 01:58 pm (UTC)Totally agree on 'Oops (Oh My)'. It's like sex all folded up and poured into your ears like melted butter and honey. Not to mix metaphors. Anyway, your description immediately made me think of another song - have you ever heard 'Don't Be Shy' (http://in.youtube.com/watch?v=fbJkfxr4vvA) by Rouge? It's got a nice beat and Dr. Zeus is on it or produced it or something, so who knows, you might like it :)
