Packed, list double checked, maps are where they should be, P90X stuff stowed away (no rest for the weary!) I have a cooler full of beverages and cut veggies (I'm the meanest mom ever, I'm raising my kids to be Rod and Tod Flanders. "Yay, Imagination Christmas! I got a pogo stick! I gotta bicycle!" *pantomimes*) and lots of movies for the DVD player in the Family Car. My stupid Vista-run computer doesn't want to make CDs that work in my car anymore, so I'm going old school with individual CDs. LAME. Let's face it, I'm going to have a steady run of Itchy and Scratchy's theme song on repeat after a few days...

The kids and I are taking the Family Truckster thru the deep south to Farkland (Florida) with a bypass in Birmingham for some Civil Rights edumacation. Back in a week and change, don't break the internet while I'm gone, and if the Worst Thing happens, I want dovil to sockpuppet me so every one will think I faked my own death. (You can divide my things amongst yourselves. *g*)

i was born at Eglin AFB in Florida. therefor, i have the right to tell you the *TRUE* name of northern Florida - LFA

LFA = "Lower F'ing Alabama" (and i censor myself because, again, afraid of Edward and Voicemail lol :D)

Enjoy, though - most of Florida is actually quite fun. avoid the Palmetto bugs, which are really just extra evil demon-roaches on steroids.

and if you take any pics that you want share... but that is only because in my less sane moments i think i miss the South... oh, and hey - i'm pretty sure Birmingham *also* has a space center, so you can go to two if you want!

Well, at least you aren't packing educational movies for them to watch. I have to ditto the warning on the palmetto bugs. Those things are scary as hell. Some you might have to hit with a car.

What program are you using to try to make cds? Because if it's iTunes, there's a fault in the last couple of incarnations of it that Apple has refused to fix, help people with, or even acknowledge, that makes it almost impossible to make a working cd off your iTunes playlist, all that happens is you ruin a cd-r.

oh! when i first got on the interweb at the grand old age of my late thirties, i ended up on a site where my teenaged daughter hangs out. and OH, we had so many people thinking my kid made me up and was setting me up for a big death scene so she could get attention! we have the same vocabulary...although my spelling is better....and i actually had to meet some of those people face to face before the wizes would vet me.
