(There's your Spongebob quote of the day. Also, why is it that I had my LJ's name at Smitty Werben Jaegerman Jensen, #1, and NO ONE GOT IT? That saddens me.)

So, people who know me know that I looooooove being there for people. It's my way of saying, "Can I buy your love with either food, wine, or assistance?" Just my way of saying that. Lol.

My new buddy (the one with the brains and pool, I need to come up with a nickname for her...) called and asked if I could pinch hit and pick up one of her kids from the high school. Absolutely! She then asked me if I would mind terribly if I was their "emergency contact" for the kids in their various schools. I was really touched by that. OF COURSE, was my response, then I laughed as I realized that being an ER contact for a friend's kids is the suburban equivalent of being a Mafioso's godparent. Hee.

I'm about to dig up my entire garden out front and re-do it. 1) I am crazy pants and 2) I love digging. Also, I feel like it's a jumble, and I want a more cohesive look. Eh, I'll probably give up half way through and just sit with a mojito and a book.

And I have a new internet name for my buddy: PoolBrains. Sometimes the simplest solution is the best one. Ha ha ha.

YOU DID?! <3 <3 <3 <3

You can often hear that name called out in my house. Quickly followed by, "HE WAS NUMBER ONE!"

The thing I love about Spongebob is that it is ALWAYS ON. There are like four channels on our cable that play it, and most of them play it in blocks of several hours.

It's good for when you've watched too much America's Best Dance Crew.

Awww, that's so nice that your friend puts such trust in you! That's very cool. And PoolBrains works well, I think!

I'm more inclined to Brainpool, of only because I'm a comic book nut.

As I mentioned below, it does show where the priorities are, too... I may have to rethink the name!

how does your garden grow, mary, mary?

and i do remember that song.

what do you want to change about your garden? lots of fall flowers now? you and i have a much longer growing season. i just planted more peas and corn, and i'm harvesting tomatoes by the basketful. most of the 'maters are from pittsburgh. as in, the plant that ate. we had one 'mater plant that kind of exploded all over our yard. seriously. over 6 foot tall now. i think this is where the former house owner must have buried all the trick or treaters over the years.....

I'm wanting it to not look so cottage garden-y, and a bit more sleek. Swaths of color that flow from one to the other instead of pockets of color here and there. Eventually, the backyard will have a pool and I'm doing a very simple plant design there, so I think it should be a flow from the front to back, that's all.

And yeah, we'll see how far I get before I decide the two don't have to match, lol.

we just moved into this house right before thanksgiving....and it had a lot we had to do to it. so we have a *bleck* rock front yard. which will soon be a grass yard with a shade tree.

how much room will you have left after the pool? and do i have swimming priviledges? :D i know, right after i'm well enough to travel. meaning, never.

My mind went directly to Brainpool, so does that make you more left brain and me more right?

I find that having the keys to six houses on my block is the equivalent of a NYC super. Do you have any idea how often teenagers lock themselves out of the house? It's hilarious. I really like the trust, though. And the access to eggs when I run out in the middle of a cooking project. Yes, I call and ask for permission first.

Brainpool shows you which is more important. Clearly I need to get my priorities straight!

Oooh, when someone gives you keys to their house! The likelihood of you ever needing to do more than go in and water a plant or let a pet outside is minimal, but YOU HAVE THE KEY, SHOULD YOU BE NEEDED. Maybe this could be worked into the Lousy Superhero concept? ;)

Ahahaha, I love that you have access to eggs when in need. And you're good to ask them beforehand!

Man, there are so many random things the Lousy Superhero could wield. A universal remote, for one.

I've been asked to go turn the coffee off at two different houses this week! The school year has begun.

You bought my love with your funnyness. So never stop being funny or I take this all away.

I'm so glad that you have a PoolBrains friend, an intoxicing combination, though don't do what I just did and mispell it to say PooBrains, which is PoolBrains annoying younger sibling.

I say mojito/book, because I like how you have your front garden and also I'm very lazy.

LOL. I love that you let me buy your love. I would like to state for the record that you gave me a "damaged" discount, which I appreciated. A little duct tape and you were as good as new! As long as no one tried to really sit on you.

I think I might have to switch it to Brainpool, which sounds like a smart secret organization that takes over things and makes them awesome.

Also, I am very lazy. Which is why I'm pouring a glass of wine and trying to decide if chunks of cheese and toast is a satisfactory dinner for growing children...

The suburban Mom Mafia is a lifeline for us all and I am so grateful to both give and receive help in that network. 'Tis the season to fill out those emergency contact forms! PoolBrains/Brainpool sounds like she's becoming a fast friend.

I've been going it alone for so long that it's really nice to be a part of the
mafia, lol. She's really greT. Smart, funny, doesn't get offended, very fun to be with. I haven't had a close friend in hugging distance inso LNG, I can't remember!!

Plus, she's a skydiver!! I'm sure I'll get her into Buffy in no time. ;)
