I'm feeling a bit blue today (I blame it on a lack of sleep + head cold that won't quit) so this website is cracking me up. (click the words to refresh the page) Incidentally, it's against Congress' rules of decorum and debate to yell out inflammatory remarks like Joe Wilson did. Just as a by the way. And as a just by the way #2, Wilson was also the guy that thought that uppity illegitimate love child of Strom Thurmond should have shut her trap about being who she was because she "diminished [Strom's] contributions to our country's existence."

I enjoyed (mostly) last night's ep of Glee, although I don't see what Will (the teacher) sees in his wife. It's not about the background they've created for the character, it's something about the actress that plays the wife that is just off. I don't get a maniacal golddigger quality from her. The Guidance Counselor's actress is a far better actress.

And off topic for y'all, but hilarious for me, last night's ep reminded me of my (soon to be) brother in law doing a lip-synced performance of Technotronic's "Jam On It" for his high school. And no, he's not gay. Of course they all thought he was, after that. LOL.

In other news, I have too much to do, not enough time to do it, including trying to figure out a way to hook up with a friend tonight while being a "single mom" as my husband is out of town, working on my book (I haven't in months, I just feel rather hopeless about it) getting my house back to cleanliness, becoming a famous actress while not being able to network properly or devote enough time to taking useless classes (sorry, but they exist to network, not to make crappy actors better) and not get freaked out by the fact that I have my first solo skydive on Saturday, causing me to miss my son's first cross country meet.

I'm crawling back in bed now. Wake me when things get back to order. And someone send me a catalog for wives, I think I could use one.

I think it's the weather making me feel a bit down. It's all overcast and humid and it's making me feel like crawling back into bed and making my husband super jealous by having an afternoon nap. I obviously need one of those catalogs, too, it would probably tell me just not to say anything about the nap...

Solo skydive!

I walked my daughter to school and broke into a fever sweat. A nice COOL breeze would have been welcomed, that's for sure. Afternoon nap sounds like it needs to be on the agenda.

SOLO! Plus 6 hours of class time to learn how to do it!

Is your son still doing well in school after a few weeks have passed?

Good luck on your solo jump!

In other amusing news, Joe Wilson's opponent has raised over $200K in the last 24 hours. :D

He is! And he's been asked to be in all AP classes, instead of just math and science, which is HUGE as English/Writing classes have been frustrating for him. (Not the material, just the physical writing. Hooray for computers and typing!)

Oh my gosh, I just read that about Wilson's opponent. AWESOME. Thanks for the well wishes, I'm hoping I don't go SPLAT, too! :D

YAY for him.

My husband teaches AP Physics and Math. He also has experience teaching kids on the spectrum. Let me know if yours ever needs any help!

That Joe Wilson thing is great.

I'm loving Glee - I think the wife is more of a stuff-a-holic/hoarder type personality rather than a gold digger, she's definitely got the crazy going on, though.

Isn't that site great?! (And a little frustrating when it hits on a truth.)

I really enjoy Glee, too. I used the term Gold digger as a nod to the song choice, but yeah - she's a materialistic climber fo sho. But I can't see any chemistry between Terry and Will at all. The actress that plays the wife (Terry) just isn't jiving with me: she's a little dead eye for me. Everything is played at the same level, and it's still not enough for me to buy the actress as the character.

Very true. If you're gonna go for the lie, like she did, it's got to be more crazy/bigger risk factor than every other decision you make.. Maybe it'll get better on that part, otherwise it just makes it easier for me to want Will to get together with the Guidance Counselor. The writers made sure that that one is handed to the audience on a platter. (I think my issue is more with the ham fisted writing quirks like that, but overall I think that it's got great potential.)

My sole complaint is that I wish the songs were dubbed a little better or that they made it a little more convincing that they were actually performing. My heart swelled when they rocked out Don't Stop Believin in the pilot, as it has been Scientifically Proven that one cannot be unhappy and hearing that song, but teach the actors to look like they are actually playing the instruments. Last night's Gold digger performance was in bad need of cleaning up. Show wise I remain entertained.

The main singing chick (i'm terrible with names) did a great job with her solo of looking like she was actually singing, but I'd agree with you on most every other scene.

Thank you!

I'm looking for someone that specifically folds laundry and has my sense of humor. I think I need an a la carte menu for all the stuff I want...

I love the actress who plays Will's wife, Terri -- Jessalyn Gilsig. She played crazy Gina on Nip/Tuck and Tammy Taylor's sister on FNL! And she was in this great little Canadian movie Hockey Mom with a heavily bearded Jason Priestly. /gushing

BTW - I think my fav Joe Wilson line on that site is "Joe Wilson travels to Canada to buy prescription meds"

I loved her on FNL and thought she did a bang up job on Heroes, too. But... that's a totally different kind of acting gig on all fronts. I just don't buy her on Glee in the role they've cast her. It's either choices she's making as an actress, or direction she's getting; either way, I'm not sold here.

Hahahaha, sure! Think of it this way: the movie "Panic Room" didn't work because who on earth could buy Jodie Foster as a person that panics and freaks out? She just looks smart and capable.

I had intended to watch Glee as a Tivo-delayed thing during the day, thinking it was not Ron's cup o' tea, but last night we were beat, needing something to divert us, and that was coming on, so... I made him watch it with me. And he really enjoyed it! I don't know if he'll watch it with me every week but it was fun this time. I agree re: the wife. She's so very, very awful, and not in the hilariously fun way that the cheerleading coach is.

I hope that you feel better soon. The germs will be scared right out of you during that solo dive!

It's just fun and light. And I think we can identify with that outsider having that one thing that we love that the "cool people" sneer at, right? (Even though we were the cool ones, Anne. WE WERE THE COOL ONES! *cries* hee.)

I'm feeling way better, thank you!

Oh, and the lady that plays the Cheerleading Coach is a FANTASTIC actress. SHe's in so many wonderful, funny movies. Her imrpov skills are legend.

I think the problem with Glee is that the characters are just a bunch of quirks and not at all believable. The cheerleading coach manages to sell it anyway (fav line - But I don't menstruate. Neither do I) but no one else does imo. The wife is the worst because the character is so stupidly over the top, I can't believe anyone would date her much less marry her.

I think the characters need a little tweaking and less stereotyping, and it'll be fine. The wife's character is written well, I just don't buy the actress playing her.

The Cheerleading Coach is one of the best improvers in television/movies. She's fantastic. See: all movies by Christopher Guest. :D

will, i think the lead's name is? does seem to wear a 'welcome! walk on me!' door mat on his back.

LOVE the glee's musical numbers, though. (yeah, i'm old and all, but i was in the touring, dancing choir in my high school years.)

and you keep on jumping out of perfectly good planes! you go, girl!
