It's not unusual for a Pee Wee Herman moment to happen daily in my house. I'm good with that. DID YOU HAVE SOMETHING YOU WANTED TO SHARE WITH THE REST OF US, AMAZING LARRY?? I digress. It's super windy and nasty out, and for those that don't know, the wind is my natural enemy. It's a hair thing, and a headache from the wind on my ears thing. And also that it's a total douchenozzle. If the wind were a person, it would totally be that jerk that punches you hard on that one tender spot on your arm, borrows money, then insults you in public. YOU WIN AGAIN, WIND, BUT NOT FOR ALWAYS.

This video is maybe the most hilarious thing I've seen in fourteen minutes. (What can i say, I have funny stuff happen all the time in my house.) The thing is, it is a SPOT ON parody of every single Wes Anderson movie, his preferred shots and cuts, and whoever that guy is doing Owen Wilson should get dinner bought for him, he's perfect.

I'm going back to watch the health care summit. Oh, I'm also not getting email notifications, so I'm not trying to be a jerk and not reply, I just don't know it's happening. Also, I'm watching the health care debate, so... I've got that on the table for now. Pretty exciting stuff. Also, I'm on a horse. (lol)

For us it's "Make me!" Pee Wee voice: "I don't make monkeys." We used to have Saturday pancake pajama breakfasts when Pee Wee was on the air.

*shakes fist at wind* I have to walk to the co-op for coffee and milk. Ick.

Oh, man, that video is spot on. We need to work on our Owen Wilson voice.

Isn't that video great? LOL at "I don't make monkeys, I train 'em!" I *LIKE* you. and "Why don't you take a picture, it'll last longer!" get tossed around, too.

STUPID WIND. I'm debating going to the market for some feta cheese. I might just sub with the goat cheese I already have. FEH to you wind, FEH.

I hope you stayed home. My hair was all in my mouth and nose and I had to go into three stores looking like I slept under a bridge and liked it there! Aaagh!

Awww, now I want to watch The Royal Tenenbaums. And yes, the Owen Wilson voice rocked.

Also: There are thousands and thousands of uses for corn, all of which I'm going to tell you about right now!

I'd be funnier, but I'm super tired. OH!! I made the biscuits!! I totally forgot. Made them yesterday, and yes, super light and fluffy and not cakey (which has been my issue) and Jonah had two. You were right, that recipe's a keeper.

Inez appears to be holding a clay pot that she seems very proud of... Oh, Jan Hooks, I love you.

YAY FOR THE BISCUITS! Aren't they delish? I was very pleased, and mostly because of the ease in making them.

That was hilarious and completely brilliant.

I am not sure if you have seen this yet. I read it this morning and it made me think of the post you made the other day regarding the people who are always right and need to inform you.

Goddamit, what is this Newspeak? Hate to be a mansplainer (talksplainer?), but this thing needs to be edited for those of us who are outside of this community.

I'm very sorry about the tone. I just finished a very tiring, very late class about editing and I always had a very opinionated view on the way many feminist and cultural studies texts are written.

Basically, I believe that they are written in a needlesly hermetic language, which completely undermines their educational purpose. You cannot make me rethink my attitudes if I am too busy thinking about your language.

I understand and know too little about cinema to appreciate that clip! Also, no Pee Wee Herman in Poland. But all's well, because I can quote the Mathplanet show at you guys.

Oh, you didn't have a show about aliens who traveled to Earth in search of a code and solved mysteries using math? You poor, poor creatures...

I happen to like Wes Anderson (my husband loathes him), but oh yes, that was Wes all right.

Wes Anderson sounds like

He should make a boy-band called Wes-life. It would be mega ironic. (Gen Y guy here, don't ask me why I know that band reference... DON'T JUDGE ME!)

I got here via the Sparkledammerung and wanted to say that was bonza. That's an old Aussie word for "great". No actual Aussies use it much anymore so I try and maintain it.

This Wes Anderson parody is brilliant, it's like it really is a Wes Anderson film instead of a cheaply made parody made in somebody's backyard. The production quality of poking fun at Wes made me laugh more than even the Spider Man gags.

Hello! And this parody makes me laugh so hard because it's just spot on! And considering that Bottle Rocket was a pretty cheap movie, I think it looks perfect. :D I think the slow turn as he delivers the Big Line in front of the fireplace is what cracks me up the hardest.

Welcome aboard!

Unrelated to that **fantastic** video, I'm traveling to Dallas in a couple weeks with a friend. What sort of suggestions would you have for spring-break style shenanigans?

And that is a REALLY good Owen Wilson voice. I almost want to say he dubbed over the lip syncing...

Oh, man, I'm a suburban haus frau, so what I know about what the "kids" are doing for funtimes is limited to hanging at the mall? (Seeing as my "kid" is 12.) Er... Deep Ellum used to be cool? Idk.

Goodness, now I feel like a baby. I was thinking more what sort of interesting cultural things might be in the area, or museums and such. Our friends down there only talk about brisket, and really can't seem to get past all the delicious food...

I'm already jogging in advance for the 37 pounds I'm sure I'll gain over the long weekend.

Oh, LOL! "Spring Break Shenanigans" made me think of clubs, etc. of which I am clueless. Museums, however!! you MUST go to the Sculpture museum downtown. If y'all are near the trains, you can take that downtown and get dropped off one block away. The DMA (Dallas Museum of Art) is right next door and is pretty swell.

I do know that Barcadia on Henderson is in a cool neighborhood with loads of delicious eateries and bars.

If you want to see the cultural event site that put Dallas on the Map, that would be the 6th Floor Museum, where Oswald "shot" Kennedy. (There are all manner of theories about that, however.)

And if you want a brunch of awesome, go to Ozona on Greenville for their champagne/omlette brunch of decadence and awesomeness.

Oo, that brunch place sounds AWESOME! I went to a place in Baltimore once that had a live jazz band every Sunday, an all you can eat breakfast buffet, and all the mimosas you could drink. One of the best atmospheres for a relaxed, suave Sunday morning. Ahhh....

Ozona huh? I think that's on my list now. And I think I'll chalk the sculpture museum on my list too...
