All Saturday I moved flagstones, rewired my landscape lighting, dug into our crappy clay soil (I have pictures - it's like cement. This is why I keep trying to remove so much of it.) and had to dig up several perennials to move/divide/etc.

You think that'd be tiring enough, but it turns out something I ate/ingested/alien pod I breathed in decided to add insult to injury and I spent all Saturday night (no, really) throwing up things that my neighbors might have eaten. I mean, after a few minutes, I had nothing left to offer the porcelain gods, but they weren't appeased, the bastards. From 11pm until 5 am, every hour on the hour. I spent all day yesterday trying to just keep water down and to try and sleep. Finally, at 3am this morning, I chugged a half liter of Gatorade, took three aspirins (my head was pounding) and willed my body to keep it down. And woke up at 10 this morning, weak as kittens and five pounds lighter.

Bleurgh. Today is all about dry toast, liquid, and maybe sitting in the sun to try and feel human again. I have no idea what could have caused this, the only thing I ate that was different from everyone else was a glass of wine. SURELY IT WASN'T THE WINE???? It would never betray me, would it?! (For the record, it was a funky ass bottle of Coppola's weird experiment wine [Alicante Bouchet, 2007], that someone gave me because I can't stand Coppola's wine, ergo, I didn't buy it for myself.)

The Mr. stayed home today to make sure I was back on track. And to do laundry (shh, he doesn't know that, yet.) So if I've not responded to your comment, email, phone call, etc., that's why. I didn't want you to hear "Hi-oooooooark!" Because that's disgusting.

Send melba toasts, pls. (Oh, and I wanted to wish those who celebrate a Happy Passover!)

Poor baby!! Damn those alien pods, anyhow. Hope you're feeling better.

We finally have a pretty sunshiny day today. We start digging the garden Wednesday. Eeeee!

I swear, I don't remember the egg exploding into my space helmet. I'm going to have spaghetti later, though...

YAY GARDENING!! I demand pics. Especially of Jonah's grubby hands digging into the ground.

Gingerale is my favorite for bad tummys. Or sprite. I wish I lived closer - I would make you some clear broth.

you got hit with the Death by Vomit bug, huh? it's been making its way around here, too. I have several friends who had it they all said they had never had a bug like that before. Glad you survived!!

I had some gingerale, but I couldn't keep it down!!! :((

I wish you lived close, too. I needed some clear broth and head petting. And then you could have watched Southland with me all day and patted my hand. (Lol. I'm so self-serving.)

Man, so weird!! no one else felt like that, so I just assumed it was from something I ate. Gah. I'm glad I survived, too! (And yeah - I have NEVER thrown up like that before. Not even after a night of pounding margaritas, Irish Car Bombs and smoking Menthols. And if THAT doesn't tell you something...)

Good heavens. It's possible it *was* the wine, you never know.
*sends ginger ale*

Gleh, I kinda think it was. Which makes me SO SAD you don't even know!! (At least it wasn't a wine I loved, because I can't even LOOK at the bottle at this point.)

Mmmm, gingerale. *leans*

Hee, yes. It's better to be sick of the sight - literally - of something you dislike than something you adore.

I am waiting for Southland from the library. I must see what everyone is raving about! I am also rewatching SPN from the beginning - those boys were babies when they started that show! Even their voices were kind of high. And I am finally watching the few eps of Glee that I have. That is the best show! I used ep 1 as a babysitting tool on Friday. A 2 1/2 year old and I did ALL the singing and dance routines right along with the cast. A grand time was had by all. Except for the cat, who just thought we were crazy.

Oh no, not wine sickness! But as you say, you don't drink it usually because, if you're like me, something that gave you 'I wish I was dead' hurling will never darken your house again. e.g. Bacardi since 1974; kebabs since 1984. I was also felled by ye virus from the Outer Limits this time last year, which was no fun with a broken ankle. 12 hours of the buick finally halted by Pepto-Bismol.

*carefully soothes forehead and sends virtual chicken sandwich*

Oh man, Southland is OUTSTANDING. Especially when you realize that it's written by women. Not that it should mean anything, you know what I mean, it's just - it's a gritty cop show! That Hollywood is producing. And it's produced and written by chicks! I love it.

OMG, I couldn't stand the smell of rum and coke for YEARS from a night of overindulgence (back in '91.) Took me a decade to be able to be around those two. Blech.

Oh my goodness, as if the broken ankle wasn't enough, Universe! Poor baby!

Mmmm, chicken sandwich. I'm so hungry, I can't even begin.

yes, the Death by Vomit bug is making its way around here, as well. People keep saying 'flu', but that isn't what it is.

Poor you, I'm glad you're feeling better. Take it slow, please.

Yeah, I don't know what this was, but I didn't have any chills or fever - just the belly bleurgh.

Take it slow? What's that? :D (Thank you.)

I would rather be shot.

Maybe the experiment of that vintage is poison?

I would rather have been shot, too. AND I THINK THAT IS THE EXPERIMENT, TOO. (However, it did lend me an entire day to wallow in bed and watch Southland. Later today I'll catch up on your posts and we'll talk shop. DUDE. I couldn't love that show more if I tried.)

I just really think that's it, too. The problem is that I only had that and two bottles of really good wine that were over $60. I went for the cheap shit and look where that got me??

OH NOES!!! Pls to be emailing me and getting it all off your chest, should you feel the need. I need to rewatch 2.01 as my dl'ded version was borked and I have to be thorough...

Wine would never turn on you so, even Coppola. Something floated in on a dust mote and infiltrated your system. Or Coppola sought revenge for your disdain. Toss-up.

Feel better. 7-Up for what ails ya.
