For those who watch Big Love and want to discuss it, my review (and insight) is up at Hey, Don't Judge Me. :) I mention in that review that I think some of the writers of the show might be following this blog, because they hit on the whole "pyramid scheme" layout of the LDS church that I've been saying for a few years, now.

My husband, who travels every week for his job, was told to get to the airport THREE hours early today, because of all of the Super Bowl travelers. And that was for the "Preferred" status flyers (he's that obnoxious guy that zips ahead of you because he has "priority seating." Hey, you go through airports as much as he does and they try and cut you some slack.) Regular schleps were cautioned to get there four to five hours early. DAMN. That's when a Kindle is great, I'm just saying.

The kids went back to school today after almost a week off due to bad weather. Except for #2, as the school had a busted water main this morning, and classes were pushed back until 12. I just want my quiet mornings back, is that so wrong??

I started up a new workout program today, TurboFire, one of the Beachbody/P90X workouts. Holy frijoles, it is an ass kicker. It's mostly because I am NOT good with choreography, and this is one of those "dance based" workouts, and it's crazy fast paced. I did a lot of jumping jacks when I missed the "knee cross elbow elbow cross cross KICK!" steps. Fortunately I was able to laugh at myself, and push through. Hopefully I won't be such a cotton-headed ninny muggins for the next 16 weeks.

I really, really want a brownie, but I promised myself that I would be super healthy for these first 5 days, to kick start my metabolism, which has slowed to a crawl. Bathing suit weather is around the corner, yo, not to mention my cross-country road trip to amazing American hikes. Hummus and bell peppers it is, then. =/

I had, like, four things I wanted to post about today, and I'm too fried to think of them. Durr.

When do y'all head out for your road trip? We're thinking of making a trek to OK this summer to see a friend in Tulsa and to see Sue. If you're around thought we might pop down there too. Of course, we have no date yet for this hypothetical trip.

You can always pop down and see me! Also, [livejournal.com profile] dovil and I are heading out April 11th, and spending the weekend in Vegas the 15th - 17th. If y'all can make Vegas, come!

I would LOVE to come to Vegas, not only to see you but to see Mr. Barry Manilow! But alas, that is Palm Sunday weekend, so no go for me. *sad face* I think our trip would be late June, early July.

I bragged on your cooking and hostessing skills. I think DT and Essene should see you FIRST and then bring me some Laura cookies back on their trip to OK. What? I like this plan.

Using my Stardust icon in honor of your upcoming road trip. Vegas!

I'm sick and wrong, but I'd probably pick hummus and bell peppers over brownies. I just discovered hummus, okay?! And I'm in love. LOVE. My parents were NOT adventurous eaters. At all. I'm the one introducing THEM to new foods.

I looooooooove my Kindle. I never travel, but I'm looking forward to doing so just so I can use my Kindle in the airport. I'm weird.

VEGAS! Aww, and the Stardust is no more, so sad.

I love hummus, but when you have a sweet tooth.... BOO.

I love traveling, too, for all of the fun reasons: dressing up, security lines, wee (and bad) foods, that huge smile you get when you get off the plane at your destination, AND MY KINDLE.

I knew that the Stardust was gone, but had forgotten that it was and asked my mom to get a picture of it when she was there 2 weeks ago. I was a little heartbroken. I want to go in September for my birthday, since I haven't been since I was a young teenager.

I don't get sweet food cravings too horribly often, but when I do the boyfriend usually has ice cream I can steal. Salty/savory is my weakness. I could go for some french fires right about now...

I got my Kindle for Christmas, and I'm pretty sure it's the best gift I've ever been given. I've read 7 books since then, and I'm on my 8th. I have a feeling I'm going to read A LOT this year.

Not yet, the Husband came home with some from my favorite gormet shop, lol. Once THAT'S gone, though...

I don't mind waddling with you through the national parks while I hump your oxygen tank on my back. Plus I've been medicinally prescribing ice cream to myself to combat the god awful heat - but no worries, because I've been eating 50 gallon cartons of it while walking on the treadmill at it's lowest setting - I'll be super thin and marathon ready in NO time!

Hummus and bell peppers sound really, really good! Especially with a brownie for dessert.

By 'quiet mornings' you mean secret drinking time, don't you.

Oh, D, you know me so well.

And you'll be surprised at how cold it gets in the mountains in April, you might want to bring a light jacket, if you weren't planning on it. And a bathing suit for my house. And drugs for my nose. WHAT.

I was going to bring my entire wardrobe, a pack mule and a Sherpa just for all contingencies.

As soon as I enter water I involuntarily piss myself. That's going to be okay, right?

Now I want hummus! One of Jonah's faves. I put extra garlic in mine and then he and I breathe on each other. Good. Times. (I made brownies TWICE during the snowstorm. I know you don't judge.)

When "True Blood" comes back, will you blog it? I want to read your reviews, but I don't know the source material (although I read the Jersey Shore recaps for the hair.)

Mmmm, hummus. I like three pepper hummus, spicy nomming! I don't judge, girl, I made cookies and a cake and 7 layer bar cookies myself. THAT'S JUST GOOD STEWARDSHIP OF OUR FAMILIES.

Oh hell to the yes, I'll blog it. I don't know if I'll do it True Blood style, but it's SO FUN to be so crazed... (Aww, I heart you, Sue-girl, I do.)

Nothing better than pretending to be all sad as the fruit of your loins trudge back to school and then doing the dance of joy as soon as they're gone.

I can't wait to start working out again. Assuming my arms and legs ever stop hurting all the time. Blech.

I pretend it's sad making every day. And then I party like it's 1999.

I'm sorry you've had such a bad run of health lately, R. Here's to hoping 2011 is exponentially better.

Back to school today for us, too, though they say more snow tomorrow/wednesday. We shall see!

I can *never* do the dance-based workout things. I end up doing a lot of high-knee jogging in place to keep my heart rate up while i goggle at the tv and try to figure out wtf. I'm much better at boring stuff like crunches and leg lifts.

Ditto re: snow on Wednesday. At this rate they'll be in school until July like it's Hogwarts, or something.

My kids haven't had a full week of school since Christmas, what with one thing and another. I think we all (even the boys) want to get some sort of regular schedule going. I was so very glad to see them all troop out of the door Monday morning...
