Two more weeks of this summer camp frenzy in the morning, and then life better settle into utter boredom. Mmm, sweet, sweet boredom, how I miss you.

I got stood up by my dad for Father's Day. Typical.

There was a lot of excited shouting in my house last night due to Game of Thrones. RECAP/DISCUSSION/FLAILING here. Come talk to me and hold me, omg.

I have just enough Red Velvet cake left over from yesterday to split evenly with the kids, or lie and say it was all eaten. *scale hands*

Red Velvet cake is totally good for lunch, right? Eggs, milk, flour... [Cosby joke, hurr] OK OK I'LL EAT CHIPS AND DIP, TOO. I'm a health nut, what can I say.

How is it just 2pm and I'm already exhausted? Ugh.

[ETA] OMG HOARDERS IS ON ALL NEW TONIGHT. (And it just won an AWARD, so now I feel justified in my fascination.) Ahaha. Ahem.

I'm sorry about your dad.

Eggs, milk, flour... [Cosby joke, hurr]

That's what I say! Also "Dad is great! For giving us chocolate cake!" XD

Bah, I had a feeling he was going to flake on me. *shrug* That's how it is w/ my folks.

CHOCOLATE CAKE IS GREAT. Om nom nom!

I am all for cake for breakfast, lunch and dinner - chips and dip for between meal snack. And, really, if your father standing you up means more cake for you, it's a win/win, right?

The unholy heat is leeching my energy. 15 over 100 degree days already. WTF, weather?

I like the cut of your jib. And your dietary rules.

We have a massive storm front rolling in (please, oh, please) and it's gusting like crazy outside. One on hand, yay cooler temps! (It's only in the 90s!) On the other, WIND GUSTS.

OMG what IS IT with San Antonio?? It's like we are in a weather vortex that only allows extremely HOT weather in!! *cries* We need rain. =(

Wow it's only 99 right now. Dare I dream??

Eh, I had a feeling he was going to flake. He's been in a funky mood lately I think.

OH WELL MORE CAKE AND GOODIES FOR ME THEN, RIGHT? <3

33C?! UGH of meltiness!

We've had the warmest winter EVER! They're shipping all the winter clothes to the South Island - it was t-shirt weather on Sunday - THE END IS NEAR! But not until I get to fleece a whole lot of people of their money first.

I too make annoyed faces in the direction of your father. Plus I burn down his house and cut the brake lines on his car. Too much? Too much.

I've never had red velvet cake but it always sounds nice and vaguely porntastic, I do not know why, or why my brain is broken like that.

LOL.

Mmm, red velvet cake is delish - it's a cocoa based chocolate cake (very dense) and traditionally has cream cheese frosting on top. NOM NOM NOM, it's pornasticly good!

ETA to your ETA: HOARDERS! I love that show, though I am convinced that at least one of those people was nothing more than just a giant slob, lol.

On the bright side it always motivates me to tidy up my house afterward. Picking up cups, used sanitary products, flattened dead cat carcasses, you know, the usual litter that accumulates.

I LOVE HOARDERS. My house gets so clean before i let myself watch it. (I secretly believe one of the two people they showcase every ep is also just lazy. The other one is usually a perfect example of the mental illness that leads to hoarding.)

Oh, but cat carcasses, that's not garbage! IF YOU THROW THEM AWAY THEY WON'T THINK YOU EVER LOVED THEM AND CAR CRASHES COULD HAPPEN.

Wait a sec! Aren't you supposed to be lolling about in your new pool? What is up with that? We got SNOW in the mountains up here last night and it hailed and rained here. Unbelievable!
Your Dad is obviously off his game - missing a father's day with you and your cooking? Totally his loss. He doesn't deserve you I say!
Red velvet cake is at the very top of the food pyramid last time I looked. At least on the one that I own. Mine says a small piece of red velvet cake is required daily for a healthy diet.

I was! But I only got to float about after taking one kid to golf lessons, another to tennis, and a third to swim, then picking them up in reverse, dropping off friends, getting laundry going, writing up a 4000 word recap of the best show on TV, finding time to eat...

So yeah. I got in 30 minutes of swimming laps. :D

SNOW. See, that's what you get for moving to the mountains. (I actually love the mountains.)

Like an arch has a keystone, there's a keypoint to a pyramid: there is the Red Velvet Cake.

What is it about summer that it winds up being more exhausting than the rest of the year? Every summer I think that I'll stand up and declare, "We are doing NOTHING this summer!" And yet I know that would drive me crazy too. Come to think of it (while I take up your journal space in trying to figure this out), I think I blame the "crazy summer syndrome" on the fact that there are many separate activities that have to be coordinated -- we still have lots of down time, but also lots of comings and goings. This seems more tiring than one big thing (school). That's my current theory anyway.

Sorry that your dad stood you up. Did he have something come up or did he just not feel like visiting?

I think your reasoning is sound. COuple it with the mental state of "it's summer, ahhh!" and as you nestle back into the hammock, the red phone rings warning you of Danger. Lol. Oy, two more weeks of craziness, then it levels off.

He said someone in the house was sick, so... *hands* I ever know with him. There may have been an awesome baseball game on that he didn't want to miss. *eye roll*

I love Hoarders, I use it to scare the crap out of my kids. It usually works pretty well to make them clean up their rooms. The one last night was just so terribly sad though, the old woman in the midst of all that filth and only one of her nine kids was fighting to get it cleaned up?

The rat guy was pretty sad too, all those rats for company and to stave off grief. I felt so bad for him when they drove off with the million and one rats he had living in his walls and he broke down in tears.

I'm sorry I didn't reply to this earlier! Sometimes my inbox gets screwy.

Oh, Hoarders! It's so fascinating to me, and it's also heartwarming when you see people get help in the end. (And I've started recapping them at HDJM because I need to talk to people about it, zomg!
