Is it just me? Is everyone swamped? Or is it just so hot all you can do is flop in a dark, cool spot? 112F outside yesterday, without any kind of heat index. This might be the hottest summer on record for us here. Damn. Because it's just disgusting outside, all of our schedules are jacked up. Everyone sleep in until well after noon and then we're all up into the small hours of the night, when it's bearable. I wish I could garden at 11pm - I have so much cleaning up to do out there, it's not even funny. Sorry neighbors, I know it looks awful.

Hoarders was on last night, and oh, that poor daughter of the man that hoarded paper (and kept his GAS STOVE BURNING to provide warmth!!) Good hell. So I'm totally BFF with Dr. Zasio and Matt Packard on FB now, so I'm pretty famous. (LOL.) I've heard back from Dr. Tompkins on his board, and there's a tiny bit of a silver lining in that situation, those of you who watch the program. (It's all in the recap.)

Sue's True Blood recaps continue to be a huge draw because she's so funny, and I see all of the traffic Liz is getting for her Spartacus recaps (I mean, just the intros are so damn funny. JUST HER INTROS.) Be sure to hit those magic "Like" and "Google +" buttons when you read and help some sisters out.

Sam has continued her Hunger Games recaps with Catching Fire and she is one of the funniest people I know. She's also new to all of this stuff, so be sure to help the younger generation out with love and support, grandmas. (Ahahaha.)

We are so close to our goal for the month, so every time you click, link back, or email links for your friends you're helping some chicks realize their dreams of being internet famous. Ha. But really, we would love to be able to have this be "what we do" and since a few of our writers have babies that need feeding, this could be an awesome dream job. WE THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT.

Imma jump in the pool and escape the heat for a bit. Then crawl into a closet and sleep for hours. Basically I'm turning into a vampire.

It is so hot, Laura!! WHY?? Although it's only 97 right now -- blissful! At least in my house.

I have made a big bowl of sweet'n'sour bean salad (with green beans, butter beans, wax beans and kidney beans, mmm), done some original writing (some, very wee) and now I'm sitting on the couch watching "Nemo" with the boys.

I endorse your goal of getting us one step closer to internet fame and I suppose being funny is how we're going have to do it, since the 1 cup thing has already been done...

It's either our humor or selling crack, Sue, we're going to have to pick.

It's only 92F right now, it's a veritable cold front! Technically this is cool enough for me to clean up stuff in the garden, but I'm soooooo tiiiiiired once I'm out there, I can't do anything but flop around.

NEMO. That was on constant repeat in my house with Miss Em. I love that movie. Good for you for getting some personal writing done, YAY! I should look into doing that one of these days...

I knew it had to be hot somewhere, because it is so cold here; barely in the 60s. My heating turned itself on.

Could delay the zombie apocalypse if they're all melting and humans are staying indoors.

Its just too damn hot to go out and do anything, Stoney! Why is it always hotter in North Texas than it is here in SA? I've always wondered about that. We could go to a water park but they are PACKED and we don't exactly have the money. My father-in-law has a pool we are welcomed to and we've been but its a long drive to his house.

Argh, your Hoarders bandwidth is exceeded! *shakes it* *tries again later*

I was horrified at all the wonderful vintage books, magazines, and other ephemera that Ron was ruining. He collects these true treasures, and then he piles them into filthy places, climbs on the piles in his dirty shoes/feet, allows rodents and insects to nest in them, and exposes them to the elements via open flames and leaky ceilings. He's destroying the very things he claims he loves (including his daughter, but that's a whole 'nuther sad story.) I was relieved to read on the A&E message boards that Matt & co. had recognized the collectibles and put as much of it as they could into protective boxes.

That poor daughter. Cancer and dementia or no, I wanted her to punch her atrocious father right in the face.

ACK, I KNOW. I'm trying to get in touch with my web host so we can bump up our bandwidth, or I'll have to move us to a new host. SORRY!

No apologies necessary; it ain't yer fault! I'm able to see your Hoarder reports now, and they're excellent. I didn't realize that you're a poster on A&E Hoarders' message forum. What's your name there? I've never posted there, but I read the threads faithfully. I think it's kind of a shame that family members of the featured hoarders often come onto the forum and lambast posters who say anything negative about their relative. I don't agree that posters should go overboard and say things like "Hoarder #2 should be hung up by his gonads." But expressing one's honest belief that Hoarder #2 might need to be placed in a good nursing home for his own protection, for instance...I think one should be able to post neutral comments like that without fear that Hoarder #2's granddaughter/wife/cousin is going to suddenly appear and snarl at you. There don't seem to be any moderators there, though. I think the forum needs its own set of therapists as moderators, to explain to the posters how speak to each other like mature adults!

BTW, have you seen the latest Twilighty incarnation? Hot on the heels of Mormonism-Disguised-As-Vampires, we have...UNDEAD AMISH!
