Glee last night...that was weird, what the girls were doing in their routine, right? With the weird arm pumping and waving? Or maybe it was just because of the choppy editing, IDK. ANYWAY. Recap is up! (The recap's drink is CRAZY delicious. Have you discovered honey liqueurs yet? HOLY CRAP. Nom.)

I am going to be offline mostly because after two months and change, I am FINALLY going to take my laptop in to get the LED screen repaired. (Couldn't do it myself because a) I don't trust wholesalers for LED screens and b) I don't have a clean room, and if you get anything like, say, cat hair behind it, you're going to see a big magnified hair forever. So.) Dr. Laptop thinks he can fix it in one day (I actually suspect the lamp is the problem, not the screen/cable) Thankfully I have a netbook for basics, but it's not the same. My husband just wants me to buy a new computer, to which I scoff. Wasteful! Mine is still great, the processor could stand an upgrade, but otherwise, it does everything I need. ALSO I HAVE A ONE OF A KIND CASE, and I'm not willing to part with it. I always get comments on it when I go to coffee shops. I <3 my laptop.

Oh, and I need to upload some pictures once I get it back. I made a Kindle cover over the Thanksgiving weekend from an old book I bought at that shop, Curiosities. The book? "I Was a Teenage Dwarf." Ha! (I removed all the pages, I didn't cut a hole in them. I'm not 100% satisfied with the way it turned out, but it looks cool, so... Eh, first time making one, so not too shabby.

OK. Workout, clean up, and then a date with my resident drummer, as he'll be leaving to live the life of a corporate rock star soon. *snerk*

So you think you're so hot because you made a Kindle cover out of a book? I challenge you to make a cover for a Nook Color (for me)!

HAHAHAHA!! I'll put up pics so you can see how I did it, if you'd like to make one for yourself! ;D

Urk, good luck with the screen! I hope it's an easy and cheap fix.

Definitely want to see the pictures of the Kindle book cover you made!

I hope so, too. I know this will be cheaper than sending it in to Dell, which... boo, Dell. BOO.

Hooray!! I'll post them ASAP.

The Troubletones were doing a dance move called Waacking (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waacking) because the Glee choreographer is actually pretty awesome and knows his shit. Pretty appropriate for singing a gay anthem like I Will Survive, although I didn't think it mashed up that well with Survivor.

See the shit I don't know? I didn't know there was a name for that. But I have to say, the editing or something made it seem odd, it was too choppy. Like this looks awesome. And this is something I'm familiar with.

I couldn't get a bead on anything last night, but then, I'm also taking notes as I watch the episode for the recap, so maybe I need to watch again? IDK.

The editing was SHIT last night. I couldn't believe it, this is the same dude who brought us The First Time, which had some really clever editing.

On Tumblr, someone screencapped a shot during "Control" where you can see a couple of cameramen on the stage while ND are performing. Good work there. *facepalm*

MINOR SPOILERS FOR GLEE

When you're watching a group performance, the camera needs to pull it back and let us SEE it. They could pull in for little moments like when Tina and Mike saw his dad, or when Mercedes and Santana passed the lead back and forth.

I thought the editing in The First Time was wonderful, actually, so yeah, that's a head scratcher. And it's the same editor? Not director?

HOLY SHIT, ahahahaha, that's hilarious! Come on, guys.

(The episode gets total bonus points for Tina/Mike getting to actually have moments, so that was nice. Plus singing!!)

I'm not entirely sure if it's the same editor but I do know that the director got his start on Glee as an editor (Bradley Buecker) so I'm usually excited for his work because he gets character beats. There's a Glee behind the scenes piece on youtube about his editing work on Glee and he uses the Kurt/Blaine "you move me" scene as an example of editing. He directed Never Been Kissed and Original Song. I expect good work from him so I have no idea why it was such a mess this episode.

Aaaaand then I go on imdb and see he was also working on American Horror Story while producing Glee. Stop overextending yourselves, Powers That Glee. You lose focus.

(Tina and Mike getting to do stuff is AWESOME. And their storyline didn't make me hate them, which is great since that happens so often when a neglected character gets focus.)

Over extending, GOTCHA. That would make sense, then.

And honestly, directors in TV don't have a lot of power, the producers do. SO they may have overridden him on editing, which is a shame, if so.

You have laptop withdrawal and I have jury duty. Who do you think I feel more sorry for? Yes, that would be me...

I hope you get the laptop back soon as soon can be and I'm home in time for happy hour. Maybe I should put a flask in my purse just in case.

LOL, I have Jury Duty on Monday, and I'm excited to do it! The only times I've ever been called was when I was 9 months pregnant. =/

Oh, I hope so, too. They have an average turn around time of 24 hours, so that's pretty boss.

(Flask, DEF.)

Aaah! Chosen and then off to happy hour so we could see a band that cancelled with no notice. Six hours downtown, three on the drag and I still haven't had a stiff drink...

Tomorrow I am on a jury for the first time in forever. Wish me good sense,
