First, Sam posted her recap of Sherlock Holmes last night on HDJM, and if you're wondering if you should read it, I'll help you: yes. You loved her Captain America and Thor recaps, so you'll love this one, too.

ION, yesterday, I drove 40 miles into town to go shopping with my sister and knock off the last of my x-mas purchases. And guess who has two thumbs, a sinus infection and no wallet? THIS GAL. Awesome. Truly a spectacular moment in my life. DERP. We still had lunch, so that was nice. Also, she bought it for me, which is extra nice. HEY I ARE YER BIG SIS THAT IS DUM FANKS. I this many *splay hand*

The Mr. and all of his male family members left this morning for a hunting trip (read: poking sticks into a fire and drinking scotch) until Friday so it's a perfect time to do nothing and let my leg hairs grow. I MEAN GET EVERYTHING READY FOR THE HOLIDAYS.

(You know that really just means watching movies and doing nothing, right? Right.) Jeez, I need breakfast. Come over and make me eggs, pls. I'll repay you in booze and smiles.

ETA OMG, I hate the new comment look. HAAATE. Also, I lost my default of Dystopian, and it wasn't showing up in journal options, and my comments were in my fancy journal look, not the basic Dystopian white background, nice comment titles. SO HERE'S HOW I FIXED IT:

1.) Go here: http://www.livejournal.com/manage/settings/?cat=display ADD TO THE URL: &usescheme=dystopia HIT SAVE AT THE BOTTOM LEFT.

2.) Click on JOURNAL STYLE at the top of your screen.

3.) Click on CUSTOMIZE YOUR THEME

4.) Scroll to "Disable custom comment pages" and select YES. SAVE CHANGES.

Worked for me, I have no idea if it will for you, but it's worth a shot. ETA 2: Now I've lost the ability to have "parent" to threads! So...I can have nice, huge open threads on white, or I can hit parent. FFFFFFUUUUUUUU. I just made a dreamwidth. I'm Stoney1. JUST IN CASE. LOL!! I know the feeling. That's another reason I don't really do much over there. I go over every once in a blue moon and import my LJ to it. I haven't figured out the crossposting thing yet.

I don't really want a new place either for I am old and set in my ways. GET OFF MY LAWN, YOU DAMN WHIPPERSNAPPERS!!!!!!

Not to mention the fact that I have like, 3 or 4 RL friends and everyone else I know and like/tolerate are all on LJ!

If you check out my user icons, I keep the journals that I got them in the descriptions of every one, like [by iconominon] etc.

I don't understaaaaaaaaaaaaand the LJ changes. I just don't. I don't know why when I'm here in your LJ I can have my nice scrolling list of icons, but my default is now ugly, impossible to use on my phone, and beyond impossible to pick an icon when sorted by picture based on upload date.

I think I'm going to have to change my LJ style if they don't reverse some of these changes.

I do have a DW (flaming_muse, I believe), but I'd be more likely to leave fandom than leave LJ.

And you can't pick icons if you reply to an anon comment, which is cruddy, and no more subject headings for comments? Talk about messing up people's RPG journals!!

I would be wary of changing your styles - I had to dig around to find how to get Dystopia back (for when I'm commenting) but ugh.

I can't ever see me leaving LJ, but cross posting might be an option if people bug out over there. I've been here too long and am permanent, in every sense of the word. =/

Part of the reason I picked the style that I did for my LJ on its last redesign is that I could force it not to use the style on my entries, because it makes reading them so much more difficult because of how narrow it is. Yours is very readable for me, but mine is not. So if the default page is unusable for me then I have to change styles entirely.

I hate redesigning my LJ. It's not that I do anything fancy, but how it looks is very important to me in terms of how I can read the damn thing.

Cross-posting is a good option for people who aren't me. ;)

I'm batch three into a five batch holiday baking spree. We're going down to the Valley to visit my grandparents and every single extended family member living (joy. rapture.), and my plan is to shove cookies at them to take the pressure off of being social.

I love to bake, so there's that. There's also a couple of gallons of Maker's Mark coming down with us, if my mother expects me to be in any kind of a social mood at all this weekend. You keep the wine, I'll take the whiskey. *shameless*

You know you can import all of your entries and tags and everything to DW, right? Only cause I know you're saying you won't move if you don't have to - you can import everything and then if/when you start to crosspost it'll be easier to keep organized. Just saying.

That's what I've been doing for ages - crossposting from DW. It's a doddle and I've only had problems on about a half dozen occasions usually when LJ is suffering a DDOS attack (understandably)! *G*

I feel safer having a presence on both sites - if one is down I can usually access the other. Tho' I admit this final LJ shennanigans does mean I'm lapsing back to a free account there and just paying for my DW one.

Ugh, all I know is on any comm/LJ in S1, I can't even comment or load my icons probably because I have so many script/cookie blockers on firefox. Which shouldn't hinder commenting, but well, the update sucks.

(And I am getting SO EXCITED for Sleep No More! I can't wait to do a big write up for HDJM, not that they need the publicity, they're the talk of the town, but that I'm just excited for it.)
