The world is coming to an end.  How do I know?  Because it is only 85 F in Texas, and it is almost August.  By all rights it should be a triple digit day.  So natch, I think the world is ending.  (Isn't Bush as President foretold in the book of Revelations as a sign of the apocolypse?)

Everyone is eating lunch, so I have come in to play on my mah cheen.

Tristy (not her real name) and I decided the worst way to die is:

BTW: Tristy's husband lived in West Africa for several years and witnessed this.
The worst way to die is being covered and subsequently eaten by a horde of
driver ants from Africa.  They're about an inch long, and they move in a
foot-wide/a hundred foot-long procession over the land and can cover and
eat anything in their path that can't get away fast enough.  The cause
of death is suffocation by invasion.  Imagine your lungs completely full
of ants.  AAAAAAAAA!  I read about these jerks in my insect book when I
was about 6.  Mr. Tristy (not his real name) said he saw them in Africa, and he said he could hear them before he could see them: you hear this loud
clicking/scurrying noise, and then here they come.  STAMPEDE!
So that beats being eaten partially by a shark and drowning from your wounds.

I welcome all challenges to this scenario.  Now back to happy fun outdoors day.  Wheeee!

I think being suffocated and stung to death by killer bees comes in a close second, but the ants are definetly first, *shudder*

"Killer bees" snork. I always think of John Belushi singing blues.

Drowning is waaaaay up there with me. Anything that reuires non-functioning lungs freaks me out. I think I could handle being shot or stabbed. But throw in animals, fire, or water, and I'm freaked. Or what about catching on fire while escaping a grizzly that was gnawing on your torso, then plunging into an ocean? (For your sake, add surfacing only to be swarmed by killer bees.) Hee!

In the words of Ralphie: Dying Tickles!

There was this crappy movie I saw once, can't even remember the title... he was in a pit and the walls caved in on him, breathing dirt into your mouth and suffocating would be pretty nasty.

Or even being buried alive, waking up and finding yourself in a coffin. I read a book on the history of torture (yeah I am disturbed lol)...any way

There was this king who asked this guy to develop a torture device for his enemies, it was called the brazen bull, it was hollow and made of entirely bronze. The victim was shut inside it and it was heated over a fire. Nasty! When the king was presented with it, guess who he tried it on first? The inventor!

Naughty you for being on the 'puter! Here's how sick I am. My husband and I went on a castles tour in Germany for our honeymoon, and I made sure to go to ones with nasty torture chambers. Whee! I can't remember the name of this one device, but you string a person up, lower them over this pointy thing (position it on bottom areas) then plunge them down onto it. But that's not the best part! Then you flip a lever and it opens up to reveal pointy tips on the ends. WOW.

One of the people killed in the Salem Witch Trials was pressed to death. They basically placed huge boulders on his chest until it crushed him. It took about 48 hours. Christ.
