crazydiamondsue brought to my attention that The Daily Dot mentioned a piece of crack-fic I wrote a while back, pairing Edward Cullen and Sarah Palin. :D

They don't have the correct link to my story, but I thought I'd share that because I've had a long stretch of rottenness and self-hate (well, self-strong dislike) and that made me laugh and feel good.

Wait, what? self-hate, even dislike? Stoney, without ever meeting you, I think you are one of the greatest women there are. Just a few high points: You authored at least two of my favorite fics/verses (TBOY and where there's smoke), you tell great "recovering Mormon" stories, you took your life back from an abuser and independently created a new life for yourself and your children, you are a master gardener (Earth mother) you have kept online fans for YEARS and you are besties with the Muse - one of my idols. I admire you greatly, and am more than a trifle envious. I know that this kind of fact recital from a stranger doesn't really count for all that much, but YOU need to look at what you have done with your life, and develop a little appreciation and respect for the great role model you are providing your kids, if nothing else. (Besides, anyone who is a wine expert should just be at one with the universe, imho.) Quaff a bit, look back a little, and revel in the cool woman you have become.

I really wasn't phishing for compliments, I PROMISE. I think everyone goes through periods of "ugh, why am I not doing better?" at whatever, and there has just been a LOT of stress in my real life for a long period of time - it just wears on you. (And then when you can't hide in your fandom as a form of happy escape because people are determined to make sure you know that they think you're an asshole or whatever... It just leaves no room for fun times.)

BUT THANK YOU. Thank you very much, you are incredibly sweet for sending me this supportive and thoughtful comment. It *does* count for a lot, actually. :) *hugs hugs hugs*

Self-dislike? Despite everything life has thrown at you, you are one of the strongest, toughest, most kind-hearted people I have ever come a across. You have chosen to be the person you are, and no matter how effortless it looks to us, I'm sure it isn't always easy for you.
