I did not watch the Oscars because I loathe Seth MacFarlane. I am happy to see he made a complete ass of himself, even if I'm not happy that some people were mortified by his words. (Ugh.) I watched The Walking Dead, instead! Here's the recap and discussion post, and I would love your opinions on a theory I postulated over there. :)

Also up at HDJM, Liz's thorough and very funny recaps of Spartacus. Vinnie's extremely popular SPN recaps and she's also picking up Cult, for those of you that are watching that?

I am so close to finishing this huge fic I started last month I can taste it. (Tastes like chicken.) 79K and growing, wtf??

Holy smokes, it's almost 2 and I haven't eaten yet, WHOOPS.

I'd never heard of Seth Macfarlane and so had every conceivable horror inflicted upon me. It was offensive, crass and yet still really really boring! Buh?

Isn't he the worst?! He's responsible for "Family Guy" and its spin offs, and I would happily dance with glee if those were taken off air permanently. Chelsea Peretti, a comedienne that I loooove, saw him out and said, "Hey, you're the unfunny Matt and Trey." Hahaha.

He thinks he's edgy, but he's too mean to know how to make edgy comedy work. Also, he's just not funny. It's insulting as a funny person to be lumped in with him. ;)

I can't tell you how reassured I am that you don't like Seth McFarlane. I feel the same but have been quiet about it for a decade because I suspected it was another symptom of being terminally uncool or Weird About Comedy.

Since you are provably neither of those things, then I can say this: the man is not funny.

Julia, I think the word that fits him best is "creepy"

Oh, I fucking LOATHE him. Hate hate hate. I don't think he's funny, interesting, or talented. He has a formulaic show that is all about plugging in references and letting them do all the work for him. NOT CLEVER AT ALL.

Creepy, yes. He's a combination of all the things I don't like in a man.
