I can curl into a very small ball, promise.

NOTE: There are no April Fool's Jokes here, because I am not a fan.

OKAY, TV FRIENDS. Okay. Last night. Game of Thrones. O_O Walking Dead. Come talk me off the ledge, omg.

Oh, and did someone say the return of Dr. Who? What about Supernatural?

And seriously, if you're not watching Vikings, then you're probably not into hot Nord boning and being on ships. Which is a pity, because those are both great things.

I am so damn hungry, I can't even. Two shows in one night, when they're both SMART and VERY DETAILED shows is about impossible to get out without feeling like a frazzled chicken at the end. *flops*

ETA Can I just say how TIRED I am of reading in fanfiction about men being "emasculated" by showing emotion or doing something domestic (like laundry)? I have read so many damn stories lately from young women writers that say a guy is being "girly" or throws like a girl, or is being emasculated by having been shot in the knee and their guy friend carries them (how the hell is he supposed to walk? His friend has supernatural strength, FFS, that's being smart).

Stop insulting your gender. IT IS NOT AN INSULT TO BE A GIRL OR TO DO THINGS GIRLS DO. JFC grow up.

"What are these...bullet casings? You have bullet casings in your underwear? Steve, I don't even know any more."

Steve gives the flirty grin.

Danny sighs and removes the casings before putting the underwear in the washer.

I assume, from the "his friend has supernatural strength" thing, that at least one of the fandoms being addressed is Teen Wolf? Because I could see most of the Teen Wolf characters thinking "damn, this is emasculating" as someone else carries them, because boys.

But if it's the narrator commenting that the action is emasculating? Fuck no. Do not pass go, do no collect $200, come back when you've grown the fuck up.

You would be correct! Although i don't agree that the boys on TW would use "being a girl" as an insult, what with Derek's alphas both having been females, the Hunters have females as their leaders.

Mostly I just want people to stop freaking saying it's an insult to be a girl.

Outloud? I doubt it. But I could definitely see Stiles worrying about not being "manly enough" for his love interest, or Scott accidentally traipsing into "Allison, stay here, I'll protect you despite your clear capability as a Hunter" territory...
But it's been a while since I watched the source material, so I may be judging them more based on teenage boys I know. /shrug

Yeah, pretty much.
I had a professor at college who told the story of kicking around a soccer ball with his girlfriend's niece and joking that she "kicked like a girl". She then kicked the ball directly at his head, and when he woke up he found out that she played on her college's varsity soccer team.

Yay for so many recaps! You are a SUPERSTAR for doing two from one night, Stoney!

Vikings is totally on my list, what with the priests and the invitations for joining and such.

My brain is FRIED today. Thank goodness I don't have Hoarders tonight!

Vikings - just from Tumblr - looks awesome. I have the whole season saved on my DVR waiting for some time to watch. HAHAHA, the priests and the joining, YES! <3

I watched the pilot for Vikings and thought, "Meh" and haven't been back. Maybe I'll give it another shot...

I was realizing over the week-end that I'm not really following *any* shows right now (except Jeopardy! which we DVR because I can just about manage to sit down for those 20 minutes to watch/shout out responses as a family). It's making me feel quite disconnected to the pop cultural zeitgeist of this moment.

My max attention span for tv seems to be about 30 minutes these days - I can't seem to settle in and pay attention. I think it's because I'm so busy and stressed with life stuff that when I sit down to watch something, Fashion Police is about all of the mental power that I can muster for a whole hour of viewing. My husband thinks I'm being too hard on what's out there right now and not giving them enough of a chance (like with Bates Motel - that pilot actually made me a bit angry: I thought it inexcusably stupid given both a. the inspiration/subject matter and b. the show producers and my husband thought it wasn't great, but had potential).

There is so little TV I'm watching now, it's bizarre for me! I've just not had the time nor energy, so I totally get it.

I have Bates Motel DVRd but haven't watched it. I usually like to start off a new show with three eps at once so I can get some idea of the arcs. That's one I'm not sure about, either.

Buffy always said it best. From Helpless:

Buffy: You're not getting the big picture here. I-I have *no* strength. I have *no* coordination. I throw knives like...

Giles: A girl?

Buffy: Like I'm not the Slayer.
