Now that it's turning cooler, I want delicious things to nom on like cinnamon rolls and orange-ginger rolls. Fortunately those both come from the same base and guess who has two thumbs and just made said base? THIS GUY. I'm playing around with my sourdough starter cast offs with this particular recipe, so once I can make sure it's successful, I'll post the recipe with anyone who wants it.

I have been SO HUNGRY this week, like, I'm eating myself out of house and home. It's all good stuff that I'm nomming, it's just NEVER ENDING. Clearly the answer is that I need to go to Cane's and get a #3 for lunch. (Why? WHY DOES FRIED CHICKEN MAKE ME SO HAPPY? It just does.)

I saw a fancy sandwich of: brie, chocolate and pumpkin on challah bread and I about passed out, it looked so good. I need to figure out how to recreate that. (In other news, the BFF - who is now vegan - is coming for a visit and I have NO IDEA WHAT TO FEED HER. I mean, cheese! Pancetta! CHEESE!? EGGS!!!!! Gah. I'll be sure to stock up on nuts and celery, I guess. BOR-ING.)

It is almost Halloween, which means it's almost Almond Joy Theft Day! HOORAY.

What else do you like to use your sourdough for? Inquiring minds etc..

(The starter?) I use it for pretty much all bread baking. I use my starter in place of yeast, unless I'm making a quick bread like biscuits or rolls. (Then I use both!)

Ok well this makes me happy, because I had only seen pancakes/waffles recipes besides the bread and the pizza I came up with. And for whatever reason I cannot toss out starter. I know it is says split and throw x amount and I just...cannot do that.

But I can make CINNAMON ROLLS BITCHES!

*insert manic laughter here*

oh...hey....I bet it would do really well for english muffins! Because those are a bitch to make with gluten free flours, unless you are totally going for the texture and weight of cobblestone. MMMmmm hockey puckssss.

I bet it will be fun to stretch your vegan meal making skills. That's what I always tell myself when attending a free roaming vegan/gluten free/vegetarian potluck! I haven't come up with anything tried and true but at least I get an A for effort each time.

It's still too warm and muggy here for baking. I can't wait until it cools the heck down and I can be in soup and bread and stew and chili mode again.

(This is the friend that does the ultra marathons, doesn't eat meals, and practically lives on bread.) I make a mean kale salad and roasted beets, so there's two dishes! :D

A huge storm rolled in up here and is sticking around for a while. We're supposed to drop into the mid 40s by tomorrow! YAY!!

She doesn't really enjoy food, right? I don't get that at all.

40's? Lucky you! We had rain come through but now it's 80° and 90% humidity. Yuck.

This is correct, not a fan of food. UGH. HOW.

Oh, that weather is the WORST! Here's to hoping cold dips down your way soon.

I just went vegan, too! May I suggest anything over at Oh She Glows? The author creates some amazing amazing stuff, and there's a handy index to make searching easy. And of course, when in doubt, a 4 bean chili with Fritos and fake!cheese is a good fallback. :D

Oh, thanks for the website!! (This friend is notoriously hard to cook for as most of her diet consists of bread, beans and diet coke. =P)
