Flist? I just spent a ridiculous amount of money on 6 bottles of wine (AFTER a discount for buying 6 and AFTER a discount for using a debit card) and I ain't even sorry. Life's too short for shitty shoes or shitty wine. Buy the best you can. And with the way the Mr's business is growing, I did just that. :D

Speaking of, he's pretty much going to be gone for the month of April, so there will be much sleeping on the diagonal that month. I anticipate getting a LOT of rest. \o/

My children no longer need me. I mean, they DO because I'm the magic fairy who buys food and clothes and blah blah, but they are happily engaged in their own lives for the most part, and they rarely want my attention. *Unless it's for money, clothes, food, blah blah. I am surprisingly not sad about this. I am not one of those mothers who cannot imagine life without their wee ones. ALL I DO IS IMAGINE IT. Ahahahaha. I kid. Kind of. Those of you with teenagers/college age kids know JUST what I'm talking about.

HEY GUYS IT IS SUNNY AND WARM AND I HAVE THINGS POPPING UP IN MY GARDEN! It's making me happy. Oh! And I'm going to film little shorts on my new MacBook Pro for Mastering the Garden and put them on YouTube. I can't count on my local film crew, and I'm getting upset at seeing all the gardening mistakes popping up all over once again (ahaha). So if you have a question for me, post it in comments and I'll see if I can't make a video for you. :D

At this stage in the parenting game, I wouldn't know WHAT to do with a 2 year old! (I'm kidding. I love 2 - 4.) :D

I WILL ENJOY IT! *clinks glass with yours*

I FORGOT THAT THEY NEED ME TO DRIVE THEM PLACES. *headdesk*

OMG, my garden is waking up and I'm excited to see buds and blossoms and all the plants I'm going to heartlessly murder in a few days, HOORAY!! (Pernicious little buggers who are growing where they oughtn't)

Yes. Yes I do. Oy.

As far as gardening goes, I need to know how to divide up the daylilies that are about to eat my house without killing them all.

Anytime someone tells me that I'm going to have Empty Nest Syndrome I just want to laugh and laugh. NOPE. I AM NOT. I love my kids, I want them to be successful, and I would like to successfully go one night without a sink mysteriously filling up with dishes, etc. etc.

Oooh, I would even be able to do a demo for you! Super easy. DONE.

Oh my gosh, as I sit here shivering in my bedroom because the wind is blowing so cold outside (we have another run at polar weather coming in this weekend) I am SOOOOOOOO jealous of your garden shoots! It looks like we might get crocuses by Easter if we're really, really lucky. This has been the longest, coldest, craziest winter I can remember. I won't even be able to put in any annuals this year (hubby is out of work so no $$), so instead of planning my planting, I'm just planning to mulch everything with woodchips we already own and watch the perennials that managed to survive the winter when they finally start to come up next month. Please post pictures of your lovely spring happenings to remind us up here in the tundra that life exists somewhere!!

THIS IS WHY I LIVE IN TEXAS. This right here: winter ends abruptly and then is DONE. I am so thin blooded, I just cannot with the cold! I love me some hot, hot, hot temps. MMmmm. My friend in upstate NY was saying how sad it is that all of the plants seem to be three months behind schedule. :(

I WILL SHARE PICTURES, YES!

I lived in Southern California for two years, where I met and married my hubby. I hated it. HATED it. I love the seasons too much and we had to move back here. SO when I get whiny about the weather, he reminds me that it was my decision to move back here (and be close to family, not just because of the seasons) and that we can move back to Cali anytime, lol.

Happy wine! I've been "self-medicating" lately and a glass of wine brings all the relaxings.

I'm really looking forward to the gardening shorts. I would like to know: How to choose the best potted seedlings and plantlets at the nursery?

Oooh, I will happily talk about how to choose the best plants at a nursery! EXCELLENT TOPIC. <3

I had...much more than a glass of wine last night. *drinks lots of water today* hahaha

I am getting the gardening itch. It's time to start digging and planning and planting!! I have to start my vegetable garden all over again because I lost my plot to the new barn last year. I was very sad, because I just about had the soil the way I wanted it. But on to new things. Going to plant salad things and lots and lots of peas.
The plants in my patio planters are sprouting, the daffodils are about to bloom, and there is new growth on my roses. I love this time of year.

From: [identity profile] stoney321.livejournal.com
Oh, it's so frustrating to have put all of that work into making the soil so lovely only to give up that land! (But now you get to play in a new spot! WHEE!!)

MMMMMMM, PEAS. I love peas so much. Homegrown peas = there's nothing like them.

I am excited to plan a new garden, armed with the knowledge of what worked and what didn't!
Also planning to plant a butterfly and bee attracting flower garden. The local paper is offering bare root perennials at a very good price as part of a drive to encourage more gardening.

Oooh, what a cool thing your paper is doing! I hope loads of folks show up.

...after you've gotten what you want. :D
