ever since I got my new MacBook, meaning I lost Seamagic, I forget to post to LJ. That little purple icon on my desktop was my connection here. =/

It's been a while, let's see:

• Life is stressful, but it's always stressful


• Life is awesome, but it's always awesome


• I read the Captive Prince books (trilogy, only 1&2 are out) and really enjoyed them, aside from them being somewhat rapey, but that's what you get with a slave fic, right? I didn't read the fine print. But! I still really liked the world building and am invested in the characters, so I'll be reading #3


• I wrote about playing Hip Hop during church (when I was a Gospel Doctrine teacher) and that might amuse you. :)


• I tweeted the new ChuckD song, got retweeted by him, and am now being followed by loads of Hip Hop twitter accounts, and I feel like this gives me street cred, lol /whitewoman


• I posted a recipe on my blog in which I get increasingly frustrated and drunk (because of who I was cooking with. The recipe - one pot pasta - was super straightforward and easy)


• I need a haircut. I also need a buddy who lives on my block so I can go have lunch and talk gay protagonists while sipping mojitos =/

Dude, today has been a DAY, and it is all I can do not to crack open red wine on the sheer suggestion of your icon alone. (A friend lost her father and nephew in a car accident this weekend. My mind is blown. I cannot begin to imagine how a person weathers that.)

So, in sum, wine for dinner, and I'm headed over to read about you and Mormonism, because that'll put a better spin on the day :D

That's just one basil plant! I let them go to seed in that bed, and I haven't had to buy basil in years. <3 (Plus critters don't like to eat it, so it's a good guardian to other plants in the garden)

Man, we DO need that neighbor! And I would totally drink margaritas with you, so I'll bring the BIG pitcher. :D

Anyway, Semagic don't work on Mac? That's a sad state of affairs since that's the best thing that ever happened to LJ in my opinion. I love that little program. :-P

I read the book Brute by Kim Fielding (shapinglight here on LJ). I love her work, so when she had this one on sale some time ago, I couldn't help myself and bought it. Then it collected dust in my bookshelf for a long time, and now... I've read it. :-) Even put a review up on Goodreads for it. ;-)

Hello hello! I keep trying to post a comment on your blog but failing miserably. I think the site doesn't like me! But I did read your most recent recipe and it looked delicious. And it was so funny. I'd buy a cookbook of yours if you ever put one out.

I really loved the Captive Prince series and hope that the third does indeed get published, and that the story isn't left hanging.

1. I just read the story about how you may or may not have disgraced the church with your choice of music, it made for an awesome read; even awesomer would be when I actually get to hear what that music sounds like. :P

2. All the best with your new hair cut! I still recall some of the hairdos you posted on that perpetually-at-the-top-of-your-page post, although at the same time I'm STILL trying to figure out if the sentences you made describing the photos go above or below them. (Would be glad if you tell me)
