Have I missed something?  My seven year old daughter was invited to a party, and included with the invite was a GIFT REGISTRY CARD.

Seriously.  Is this not considered gauche?  Tacky?  Of the "no?"  Wedding?  yes. Birth? yes.  8 year old's brithday?

Any thoughts?  Opinions?  Gripes?  Maybe I'm just out of the loop, but dude.  Have the gimme gimme gimme's reached a new height?

Never heard of anyone sending a Gift Registry Card before for a birthday party. I find it of very bad taste, btw. For weddings or birth is fine, since it's actually a help for the guests to know what to buy. But for an 8 year old? No way is that acceptable.

WTF?

Okay. So I'm not crazy, right? Some people have interesting ideas, huh? Comes off as REALLY grabby to me.
I'm liking you more and more, Mari...

No, you're not crazy. The crazy one will be the girl's mother. I imagine it's her the one with the bright idea of trying to impose someone into buying what she wants, 'cause men generally leave all those details to the wife.

Thanks, I like you too.
