It doesn't even make sense, because in her rant she specifically says that in a personal LJ one should be allowed to post any graphics one wants, with or without a cut, right? Am I reading it right? And then she uses for an example about clicking on a cut your Mayor/Snyder MANIP, which according to her favored plan (which, actually, makes some sense) would only be applicable to comms.

Maybe I'm not understanding her plan. WHATEVER. I'm not really following this kerfuffle, because I don't have bloodclaim on my flist anyway, nor anybody who regularly uses big graphics, so it doesn't matter to me!

Well, I was baffled and all, "it's her, right? Right? I mean, you can see she's crazy, yeah?" when she butted in to EntreNous's comment on RPS in my big RPS thread a ways back, replying to ME and telling ME I was hypocritical for not liking to read Nicky/rehab RPS and started calling me names and I was all.... huh?

I fucking WRITE RPS, ding-dong? I'm not a hypocrit for having reading preferences! WOW.

I'm just... amazed at the wankery. It would be hard to not have a civi iscussion with Ladycat, when she was so soothing and petting her. It's when anyone questions or challenges her that the wankery explodes.

I'm gonna play Advocate D'Satan here, and say I'm not sure that was meant to be a dig at you -- Mayor/Snyder (anyone/Snyder, really) has been a fandom joke for "what's the most crackassed ewwww pairing we can think of" for a long time. And even if it was referring to your actual story (which was funny as all hell) she didn't say anything beyond that she wasn't interested in the pairing, so she wouldn't click it.

It could have been a sly dig, but my Occam's razor is saying that it was probably more foot-in-mouth than intended cutting, largely because it seems like in this discussion she's repeatedly demonstrated that she doesn't understand how she could be offending people with her words, which makes the sly part seem unlikely, as that requires a degree of skill with recognising when you're coming off as an asshat.

Oy vey. I read her post and the comments at that point yesterday, and had to put down the laptop because I just couldn't handle the absurdity of some of her comments. I don't even know how I found the post, random linking most likely. She isn't on my flist and the bloodclaim community isn't either. But that is neither here nor there. I completely missed the snide ref to you. I have just done some additional reading and have a bit more backstory now. And wtf. Considering how she really wants to paint herself as nice and considerate, I really boggle at the fact that she can't see that her comments are extremely inflammatory. Without knowing any backstory, my first thought was that she is a clueless conservative - and I now must qualify that, because I do know conservative people that are not so clueless, and GWB notwithstanding in the US, though I don't get the mindset, I have found that there can be some worthwhile dialouge when conversing with people that don't get my point of view. It may be rare, but I love a good exchange of ideas. And now this is getting wayyyyy off point. I know nothing about her, but the "less fortunate than I" mantra just pissed me off. Add the snide, bitchy ref to you? Call me judgemental, but I do have an opinion now. And though I do often hold of on posting such opinions, I'm not this time.

And hurrah for new shoes. :D I had a lovely talk today with a work friend about the therapy in buying new shoes and handbags. Heh. Always a good thing.

So, I read her 'rants' and well on her last post my fingers began to itch so I commented with this:

I was truly, truly going to stay out of this, for several reasons, including the fact that I don't know you, I simply know of you. That said, to preface my actual comment I'll say this: I have broadband, have for years and I like graphics, I make graphics, graphics are good. However, I do believe that when posting to an LJ community LJ-cuts should be used for all graphics, no matter the size, whether the comm. rules dictate it or not. I don't think it's a matter of anything but simple common courtesy. But that's my opinion and I respect your right to have an opinion as well.

My real comment is that I find this: Don't like it? GET THE FUCK OUT! extremely fucking amusing. You posted a rant in an un-locked, public forum. On the internet. By not disabling comments, screening comments or blocking anonymous users you invited people to share their thoughts, thus implying that it was what you wanted. When it seems that you only wanted cheerleaders, not debaters.

If I want to put a big ole picture of Warren getting freaky with Giles in my journal, than NO ONE can stop me. They can defriend me, but they can't stop me.
