"It's the most wonderful time....of the year!"

First day of school.  My house is quiet. I read my paper front to back without telling people to stop flicking/yelling/punching each other.

My son threw up before we left.  He got more and more quiet as we got to the school.  Saw a buddy, ran off after kissing me. He visibly gulped when he saw h is pretty little teacher.  My daughter was up at 6 this morning, bed made, everything ready to go, hands folded in her lap.  She saw me coming up the stairs and asked if it was time to get ready to leave.  There was much squeeing and bouncing as she saw her friends at the entrance.

I have my house to myself!  My beautiful flagstone patio is calling to me to bring a cup of coffee and enjoy the birds, the breeze, the silence.

I CAN DO ANYTHING TODAY!!!!!  WHOOPIE!!!

That kid. Everyone has told him how important 3rd grade is, so he was really nervous. I don't know why: he's at the top of his class and is brilliant. Just first day jitters. My preschooler starts after Labor Day, as well. Free at last, free at last! (Hee!)
