Happy Monday!
Apr. 16th, 2007 08:41 am- Being finished with painting my kitchen cabinets
- how they look
- the sound of my wee water fountain
- hummingbirds!! Drinking from my wee fountain!
- the delight in picking up a snail and chucking it over the fence to the waiting mockingbirds (they're afraid of Darthanne, and rightfully so)
- the smell of my bearded irises
- and roses
- and alyssum
- today is Sally Von Schtupp's 3rd birthday! Awww. (she's getting a "cake" made out of chicken and rice - shaped like a dogbone, heee!)
- Music like this song (Last Night, a cover by UPenn's a capella group - no really! They're awesome.)
- and this one (Two Step by Dave Matthews Band - one of my all time favorite songs EVER on the EARTH because of the freaking amazing double toms [/drum nerd])
- and this (You Know My Name by Chris Cornell, because 1) he has one of the best voices in rock and 2) it makes me think of James Bond in his sexy tight baby blue swim trunks and OH MMY GOODNESS, that's a good thing to think about.)
- upcoming visitors like
entrenous88 this weekend and
southernbangel next weekend!! - blue blue BLUE skies
- my scale
- long walks that almost wear me out (it's the "almost" that makes me happy)
- this new "diet" we've got the boy on - oh, the CHANGE! It's fantastic, and he's happy = mom's happy
- my new wee desert terrarium - Jess, one sedum is called burrito!! Heee!
- going to San Fransisco in July to meet up with
germaine_pet and others to see James Marsters declare he's gay and love a RENT BOY in a play!! - I mean, it really could be just that line working for me. Hahahaha.
- This picture
-
poshcat's birthday! Okay, it's not making ME happy, but hopefully it's making HER happy - the promise of a brand new day with no mistakes in it! [/Anne Shirley]
What's making YOU happy? Oh, before you go, a Poll! I need help, zomg.
I signed up for a Kink/Cliche Ficathon, with the following four kinks:
- ass play
- blow jobs
- drug use
- prostitution
I can use all four, or a combo, which I'm good with. But, who to write ABOUT? (Note: this is NOT a parody, and I won't write the SPN guys. There are loads of people who write them better.)
[Poll #967436]
HAPPY MONDAY!!!! (Oh, and my icon is also making me happy! Has anyone written Jake/Farmer Ted fic? OH MY GOSH. Maybe I should write Coreys RPS for this ficathon.... *claps hand to mouth in excitement!!*)

Date: 2007-04-16 02:02 pm (UTC)So ... you know I'm completely incapable of writing something, even something as inane as "See Spot run." without someone holding my hand? I got Fake Rake (yay!) and I'm at 2600ish words with no end in sight. Could you look at it and let me know if I need to real it in or keep going? (http://luthor-kinney.livejournal.com/6948.html)

Date: 2007-04-16 03:41 pm (UTC)But the picture saved the day 'cause damn that's funny. And thinking of Chris Cornell's voice, 'cause damn it's fantastic.
P.S. In the interest of quid pro quo on the happy, you must go check out this picure (http://erin-obrien.blogspot.com/2007/04/miracle-of-yul.html) of Yul Brynner. Never in a million years did I imagine myself saying this, but here goes: damn, that man was hot.

You must send me photos of your cupboards! And your garden! *longs*

I took photos!! I'm trying to get my scanner reinstalled so I can share! (I'm all old school with no digital camera...)

Date: 2007-04-16 04:33 pm (UTC)Thanks for the Chris Cornell song. I forgot I wanted that one after I saw the movie. *downloads*
You're right-his voice is among the best. I've listened to him for years (obscene amounts of Soundgarden).

Date: 2007-04-16 06:16 pm (UTC)I just have NO INTEREST in writing SPN. It's not because I look down on it, or anything like that, it's just... established. (And Jensen went to my rival high school, so I can't see him in that way, because I remember his natural voice, heh.)
HAYDEN AND EWAN, my OTP! *bliss*

Date: 2007-04-16 04:40 pm (UTC)I cannot tell you how fun that sounds. I'm honestly not much of a Marsters fan (Spike, yes), but THAT. Would just be amazing. Can Vinnie be the rent boy?
I'm happy because my Charlie Brown maple tree has leaves!! (It lives in a tub on my deck, and it was the Saddest Little Tree at the nursery last spring, which meant I could afford it. :-))

Date: 2007-04-16 06:18 pm (UTC)Ahahahaha to your "Charlie Brown" maple tree! *sings Christmas songs next to it, after decorating with Snoopy's prize-winning ornaments* GIve it lots of compost and mulch to keep those roots fed and sheltered!

Date: 2007-04-16 06:04 pm (UTC)Things making me happy today:
I saw "Mamma Mia" yesterday and I can't stop singing ABBA songs. Which is awesome because I love ABBA about as much as I love Air Supply. I may have a new crush on the actor who played Sam Carmichael. When he wore the spandex suit at the end? HEL-LO.
I am no longer bleeding like a stuck pig. My hoo-ha is no longer on notice.
It is absolutely *gorgeous* outside---blue skies with not a cloud in sight. I want to be outside. *plots*
Did I mention ten days? Okay, good.
My mom's birthday is this Thursday so I'm going to see them this weekend. Yay, parent time! AND she signed us up for a cooking class on Friday night so that should be funfunfun! For real.

Date: 2007-04-16 06:25 pm (UTC)How great was Mama Mia?! Did you have fun? More importantly: DID YOU SING ALONG?
I'm so glad your haunahauna isn't leaking your womanly essence any more! You know that's a punishment, right? Go make me a sammich, woman.
Oh my GOODNESS tell me all about this cooking class! (Question: should I make a banana pudding when you come? Or Texas Sheet cake? Discuss!)

Date: 2007-04-16 11:11 pm (UTC)can I ask you a gardening question? I know zilch about gardening so the plants in the planters box on the side of my house have died. I've lived here 3 years now so I guess thats pretty good. Can you recommend a plant(s) that I could put in place of the dead plants that don't need a lot of maintenance besides the regular rain baths they get? because I hardly ever remember to water them :D
