Notes on the Hauter Experiment
Oct. 22nd, 2007 08:39 am- Anyone recognize the subject heading? That was my FAVORITE BOOK to check out in the Sixth Grade - and I have been looking for a copy of that for years that isn't 70 bucks. Geez.
- My right-wing Repub. Mormon uncle sent me an email this morning about Why I Should Vote For Mitt Romney. After I stopped laughing, I sent him a bulleted list of Why I Will Effing Not (And why you shouldn't either) Maybe this will get him to stop sending me his propaganda... (like the one about how the Koran's 9:11 verse is all about An Eagle That Will Destroy The Desert. No, it's not. GOD I hate that B.S.
- My husband has quit his job and is moving to another company, which means he is taking a 10 day vacation in between, so we are playing this week! \o/
- After watching this clip, I kind of want Steve Martin/David Letterman fic. Not explicit, just funny. And kissing. I DON'T WANT TO HEAR IT, OKAY? I know it's wrong, but I don't wanna be right.
- My sister had a party this weekend, and it was fun to hang with hilarious people. Why did we move to the suburbs and away from all the coolness? Oh, right. Damn kids.
- I've decided to do NaNoWriMo this year to finish up my Mormon Memoir. See #2 for why I think I'll be able to finish. :D
- I can't stop singing that flipping Indian Music Video's "lyrics:" Minor bun engine runs Benny Lava. I poop on Oliver. *head desk*
- Watched 28 Weeks Later last night and found it to be almost as terrific as 28 Days Later (which I know is an unpopular opinion.) The opening 15 minutes about gave me a heart attack - awesome.
- If someone could bring me a chocolate glazed donut, I'd appreciate it.

Date: 2007-10-22 01:42 pm (UTC)It's very odd, the bopping around while getting dressed and singing, "We want to see you pee on us tonight! We want to see you pee on us tonight!"
I think I need to find the original song and download it for my workouts.
SRSLY.

Date: 2007-10-22 02:12 pm (UTC)I've been working on an idea that I realized last night while having a con-fab regarding world-building with my husband (after he got back from the mavs game) that this is going to be a multiple book deal...something that actually stands a chance at publication.

Date: 2007-10-22 02:30 pm (UTC)2. Oh God, Mitt Romney barely governed my state (Mass.) never mind an entire country *facepalm* It'd be great if Obama or Hilary could win, but the problem is that because they're black and/or female, if the democrats elect them as representatives, we will LOSE to the republicans. I really really hope we can get a strong democrat for our representative. I've had enough of this 8 years worth of republican BS :P
3. Yay for hubby time!
4. You're a riot :)
5. Glad to hear you had fun at the party!
6. It's awesome you're going to do Nano.. I wish I had time *sigh*

9. Sorry, no donuts here, I'm in World History (we're talking about the Seven Years War, good stuff :P)

Date: 2007-10-22 04:00 pm (UTC)You uncle hadn't figured out your politics yet? Or was this one last ditch attempt? My own aunt and uncle have started sending me Christian emails, including some intelligent design stuff cartoons meant for the kids. I just promptly delete them. But it makes me sad that they seem to be getting more fundamentalist in their old age.
Now you mentioned that video I have the tune running through MY head again. Thanks a lot...
*goes off humming*

Date: 2007-10-22 08:34 pm (UTC)I think my uncle forgets that I COMPLETELY DISAGREE with his politics and religion. (Weird how those two are intertwined now, huh?)
Oh, and I forgot to name that book in your journal: "Which Lie Did I Tell?" It's fascinating and funny. Which means it's perfect. :)

Date: 2007-10-22 05:54 pm (UTC)6. Awesome!! The Mormom Memoir FTW. I read an article in People while at my parents' house about a woman who escaped from the FLDS church. I think she was married to a Jessup? I think that was his last name? Apparently she's written a book and the article was an excerpt from the book. She's. . . kinda a blah writer. Your book will be so much more awesome than hers.
9. Uhm, yes. I'm allllllll over the map today mood-wise (emoness! anger! diediedieJosh!) so I'm craving chocolate like crazy. Emotional eater what?

Date: 2007-10-22 08:37 pm (UTC)I started last week for some weird reason, so I'm about done with my crazy mood swings. I meant to call you yesterday, but I was so tired from ripping out the grass in the front of my house and building two stone stairways. (It looks so good!! I'll share pictures soon.)

Can't vouch for the quality of it, but hey...
And please can you send me a copy of the email for why not to vote for Mitt? It's like - i *know* he's a horrible choice, but i don't have any solid *info*. I wish some of the activist groups i'm a part of online would start talking about *him*. The thought of him being a presidential candidate makes me shudder.
28 Weeks Later! It's awesome! Robert Carlyle!! Yay! I liked the first movie a lot, too - very different from how an 'American' movie like that would be, and that was made it good, in my mind.

Date: 2007-10-22 09:06 pm (UTC)I really liked both of the 28 movies. It's just such a frightening concept. Which translates into AWESOME.

Date: 2007-10-22 09:53 pm (UTC)From Missouri to Texas is a very long drive, and my car is still out of commission, or you could totally have all the chocolate glazes in the box of donuts on my kitchen table. (My brother made the mix, and I only like the jellies)
Did you hear that Stephen Colbert is officially going to run for President? He announced it, like, three days ago...
I've never seen "28 Days Later," let alone "28 Weeks Later." :-/ I have one friend who will never forgive me for this, as she has the biggest crush in the world on Christopher Eccleston and thinks zombies are the best thing ever. (There were zombies in this, right?)
