Guys, I just got up. Thank goodness The Boy doesn't have early morning cross country on Fridays, or I'd be in Horrible Mother zone. I guess I was a hell of a lot more tired after this week than I realized. (Um, the Mr. came home last nigh from a business trip, so we don't have a repeat of "nutella in a bag" for lunch, or something. I think. At least I know everyone bathed last night...)

I'm all out of sorts and zombiefied (sans a liking for braaaaaains) so I want to do a random poll. --O-- (I'm too tired to put my arms all the way up.)

[Poll #1276146]

[livejournal.com profile] germaine_pet is in town on business so we're hanging out tonight with tequila, good food, and loads of smart and funny conversation, because Lynne is awesome. So I've got that going for me, which is nice. *streeeeeeetch*

[eta] All the nos to Writercon are making me sad in my heart-meat.

COFFEE!!! Coffee is always the appropriate answer. Though, I must not be as much of an addict as I thought given how ridiculously easy it was to cut myself off from it when I found out I was pregnant. And that I've survived (and not killed my husband or my son) in the interim.

*pouts* there is no hot chocolate. Some of us can't have coffee, Stoney. Some of us are now crying at our desks because we've been excluded from the fine world of hot beverages (I'm pretending tea isn't there right now). *stamps foot* Hot chocolate, Stoney. Hot chocolate!!!

I wish I could go back to bed. I have to be up by 8 tomorrow, which is normal, but I like the option of laying in bed doing nothing you know? But places to be, things to do.

Oooh, I like the option of sleeping in, too, and Sunday is my only day that it's feasible. I have to be up at 6 tomorrow as The Boy has a meet at 7am. *cries* Let's take an afternoon nap. I'll arrange the pets, you slip in and spoon, k?

Poll of RANDOM. You made me flash back to last weekend at the Fair! I think perhaps I got sick because I didn't eat enough fried foods...Yes. That's it. ROUND TWO. Bring on the Fletcher's. And Carnies. Hells YEA.

waffles.

Date: 2008-10-10 04:05 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] stoney321.livejournal.com
See, the fried foods are what help you grow nice and strong. Or it puts hair on your chest. Either way = BELLE OF THE BALL.

Fletcher's corny dogs. Seriously, is there anything better? NO. (They do ONE MILLION DOLLARS in sales at the ONE STAND in front of Big Tex. Man. That's a lot of corny dogs.) I want to try the chicken fried bacon. That's the best part of the fair, all the redonk foods!

In conclusion: WAFFLES.

Seriously- I would go to the beef barn and see if I could talk someone into leasing me a yearling polled shorthorn bull for next spring, with a guarantee to return it fat, happy, and with the owner's choice of one heifer and one bull calf, because I am just that desperate.

Fairs for me are places of insane levels of work, almost no sleep, incredible cold and heat (usually on the same day) and constant wheeling and dealing.

Julia, and the beef market makes the stock market look sane and I'm tired of half angus calves and no purebred replacement heifers.

Oh, I am so happy to know that the dish was a hit for you!! (Haha, I actually worried that you'd be all *gross face* over it. Heee.)

Kindle reading: the new edition of "The World Is Flat," Slaughterhouse Five, a mess of Discworld books (like, all of them - converted files, ahem) and I just dl'd "Generation Kill."

What about you? Does there need to be an email with an attachment? *shifty eyes*

Mmm, improbable fried things. They had deep-fried Coke at the Arkansas State Fair last year. I could totally get behind some fried cappucino. *whispers* Um, what if I want to touch carnies? Where's my ticky box?

Forget I said that.

Have big fun with Lynne!

ETA that I was thinking about the Nutella-in-a-baggie incident just the other day as I scrabbled around desperately for child lunch items on grocery day.

hahaha, the fried coke debuted at the Texas fair a few years ago, and it was TOTALLY good!! The fried cappuccino was delicious. Fried pastry with cappucchino ice cream on top and a coffee syrup. So... you know. Round about, but soooo good.

Hahahaha, last year I had [livejournal.com profile] southernbangel and [livejournal.com profile] marenfic with me at the fair, and we saw this one carny that was actually hot and GOT A NUMBER from a really pretty girl. It was apocalyptic-level craziness.

HEEE, you remembered the Nutella story? Bwah!! Oh, dads. bringing the cringe/lulz since the creation of marriage.

I was so looking forward to WC 2009, but sadly my funds are now earmarked elsewhere. And, as truly funny as I think wearing Jonah on my chest and talking about improbable lube would be, I respect the childfree and those who wish to be childfree for the weekend...plus Vin's going to WinCon instead, and we would be unable to be LJ Trifecta.

Kiss Lynne on her beautiful rosy cheeks for me and pour out a shot of silver tequila on curb for me. (You can totally catch the tequila in your mouth before it hits the ground, I'm all about the gesture.)

Corny dogs! That is all.
