LOL, it's just an excuse for margaritas, it's not like in Mexico this is a big holiday, BUT HEY-O, I LIKE SUMMERTIME DRINKS, so that works out just fine in my book! [Pfft, so they kicked some French butt, as long as it means 'ritas are half price all day, VIVA LA MEXICO!]

Also things I like: tamales (I have some on deck for este noche) salsa verde, poblanos roasted and stuffed with dee-lee-shous-ness and CHEESE. Cheese on everything! YO TE LUB QUESO. Soak it all in tequila and jam it down my gullet, OM NOM NOM.

But before I can become a bloated, wobbly mess, I get to record a fun radio ad this afternoon and I would like to state to the cosmos yet again that I LOVE VOICEOVER WORK. Love it. 1) no makeup required B) shorts! and lastly: people tell you you're awesome and I always like that, I'm funny that way.

In conclusion: LAST NIGHT'S LOST WAS AMAZING. That is all I'll say here, no spoilers, and if you talk about it in comments (and I encourage that!) PLEASE put "Spoiler" in the subject for folks, because it's the Right Thing to Do.

MAS CERVEZAS, AQUI! AHORA! Well, in a few more horas. [/Spanglish] I would like to hear The Most Fascinating Man On Earth on repeat today. STAY THIRSTY, MY FRIENDS.

But isn't Sun still in the hospital with a gunshot wound in sideways world? Things are getting REALLY weird and different over there.

Yeah, they're all three still alive there!! I'm not getting how they're going to tie the two together, or if they even are. I kinda think not. Which means that they're still alive. :D (And maybe that means Juliette has yet to show up? That would be pretty slick if she's in sideways world, too.)

Yeah, I was expecting Juliette to be the blind date Sawyer had.

And I'm wondering why Desmond ran over Locke.

Someone else said they thought Juliette was Jack's ex wife. I love that idea!

And as for running over Locke, I'm guessing it's so a) he could have his near death experience - earning a glimpse into Island-land like Charlie & Desmond (push the button, you should have believed me) and b) so he could meet Jack.

I think THAT is why he doesn't REALLY want to be saved - he can see what his body is being used for with NotLocke.

Ah, Spanglish. I love pidgins. But not as much as I love creoles. Still, you need to come to Bilbao to hear Euskanol (Spanish/Basque pidgin) - it sounds like a Hungarian trying to woo a Spanish girl in badly mangled Japanese.

Also, I wanted to ask you: when you go on camera, do you blink incessantly? I recorded a review with Anna during Easter and I noticed I blink like a maniac on the video.

It's funny you mention that about blinking, because YES. But my problem was my frakkin' contacts drying out under the lights. So my new fix is to not wear any eyewear when on camera, lol.

It's weird - back in Colorado, Cinco is EPIC celebration - practically the whole week is spent (mostly drinking) downtown partying. Out here by D.C. ... practically nothin. Crickets chirp while you sip your Corona (hey, at least a case was on sale at the liquor store.) I'm making my melt in your mouth carnitas (toast pine nuts and your spices first, add chopped onion and lime and chiles, 2 Negra Modelos and a pork loin, simmer for 3 hours and let the whole house smell intoxicatingly good, make the neighbors jealous, then slurp it up with some tortillas, black beans and maybe some corn. Food of the pork eating Gods, I tell you.
Lost is awaiting me on my DVR, I have caught snippets of conversations about people being weepy or pissed or how they usually are after a good episode...

It's pretty epic here, but it's not a US celebration-style thing in Mexico. It's a marketing campaign for Mexican beer, basically. (I mean, the day *is* important, it's just not like St. Patty's Day, but with refried beans. *G*)

And your recipe for carnitas is making me VERY VERY HUNGRY, AY YI YI!!!

I'll tell you this much about LOST: it's one of the best they've ever had, hands down. I loved it. It broke my heart, but DAMN, that's good TV.

GAAAAAAAAH. My DVR cut off the last five minutes of it, so I had to watch the whole thing over to see the very end. Hurley losing it was just the final heartbreaker that I missed the first time around. The Jin & Sun show (and the Des & Pen show) had some of my favorite moments. So. Sad.

Reading some other comments, my money is on Juliet being sideways Jack's baby momma. The blue eyes on that kid could belong to nobody else.

Had to watch it on demand, I meant to say... No fast forward, so had to suffer through it all again :(

The previous episode had me bawling because Sun and Jin were reunited; this one had me bawling because they killed them off, but at least they were together. (Even if it was a rather Titanic moment, eh?) And then Hurley... oh man, that started the waterworks all over again.

You really don't think they'll somehow tie the two worlds together? Hmm. I guess it would be easier just to let it go when the real one is resolved, but then why stage so much in sideways land? I do love when characters run into each other, though. :)

PS: So help me television gods, they better kill Kate next. I have never liked her and now she's standing on my last nerve.

Hahaha, apparently my father (via my crazy-ass showbiz-tastic grandmother) knows the Dos Equis guy and he's not even a little bit Hispanic. That's all I can think of when that commercial comes on, now. Having a family involved in show business can ruin a lot of the little things, like being able to not know or care about show tunes, but hey.

I am jealous of your delicious foods! All I got to do was take one of my final exams, and now I'm not even getting out of bed so's I can catch up on sleep at the same time as catching up on blogs and things.

I was so sad when I learned that the Crying Indian that hates Pollution (give a hoot, don't pollute!) wasn't an Indian at all. NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

From: [identity profile] nijireiki.livejournal.com
Pffff, being Indian ruins all that kind of fun stuff, too. I am at the point where I can't fathom paying for turquoise or feathers or rain sticks, because that very same grandma is also the crazy American Indian Movement grandma. "Stop burning sage and playing those damn drums! Talk to me in English, I don't speak Lakota!" etc. etc. (We are not even Lakota.)

My family, we has characters.
