since I posted, like, three times yesterday. BUT THEY WERE ALL IMPORTANT POSTS.

Top Chef: Texas, the recap is live! (I'm so amused that they went to Highland Park. Lovely racist, snobby community there. Better not show any Mexican-Americans enjoying the food there - maybe because none of the chefs can do the food justice? IDK, but I'm bothered.)

But some of that food was redonk, and I wanted to nom it.

Okay, yoga, and maybe some writing. I am just burned out, I think. (Almost 130K last month, not including LJ. THAT IS A LOT. I think I used all of the words up. =/)

Wait! Find some words to tell us the outcome of last night! Did you find out any more details?? You had way more excitement than I did, now I want to know how it went!

I didn't find the mom this morning, so I'm waiting for Emily coming home to tell me - I instructed her to tell the friend to put me in her contacts and WHAT HAPPENED?! (I'll post an answer when I get it, HONEST.)

Is it okay that all the women in that Top Chef tony Texas neighborhood looked plastic and ridiculous to me?

Oh, that's because they were. The brunette was the prettiest, but yeah, she's getting gooood treatments here. :)

Ooh, I should watch Top Chef tonight after making my lazy tomato meat sauce (aka use up my remaining mushrooms, shallots, and basil).

I read a bit of the recap and since I LOVE cilantro, I think you might have inherited the "cilantro tastes like soap" gene. :-( Meanwhile I'll be making pasteles next weekend with the family using like, the super version of cilantro which looks like long leaves and is pronounced sort of like kulantro but I don't know the actual name of it, only that you can smell it from five feet away, it's that strong.

(omg 130K. That's amazing.)

YOU SHOULD. I would be very interested in your thoughts on the lack of participants of color in all of these competitions. It's seriously bugging me. I mean, they were in SAN ANTONIO. It's a vast majority of Mexican-Americans, not many gueras y gringos. Por que?

I TOTALLY have that gene, and even wrote that it tastes like soap in my recap, hahaha. I can tolerate small portions, but a big handful of fresh cilantro and I'm out of there.

(Gah. We'll see if I have anything to show for it outside of HDJM. THIS FIC IS KILLING ME.)

Well there was the QuinceaƱera challenge! I still don't understand why they aren't doing Top Chef TEXAN CITY so they can revisit the state again at a later time. It's a huge place, I mean, they had Top Chef LA and San Francisco and not Top Chef CALIFORNIA.

That gene must suck. :-( I'm tetchy about some foods and there are some things that can make me outright ill (mayo forever) but I'd be hosed if I couldn't enjoy cilantro since it's used in Puerto Rican cooking all the damn time. I already get side eyes for my hatred of avocado.

(At least it's turning into words! And you will have people giddy at so many words omg. Meanwhile I am experiencing the most evil of writer's block so I'm happy for anyone to get to write. I write out like, a single word and think I'm a hack. Blegh.)

OH THANK YOU FOR REMINDING ME OF THAT, I completely forgot with the Tejas Rodeo of old white cowboys. Seriously, I feel much better.

Houston is STILL pissed about being left off.

No mayo for you, got it. It's used here in almost everything, too, it's very common in Mexican food (and Tex-Mex by that degree) but I'm always hyper aware of it. Or I pick a bunch of it out. BUT. It's necessary in salsa. Ay yi, I loved Puerto Rico when I went. NOM NOM the food. WAIT YOU HATE AVOCADO? Okay, we balance each other out, then. :)

(But I am hating my words and they feel so CLUNKY to me bah. What is your block? Do you need me to tell you lovely things about your fics to inspire you? I am really good for that. *G*)

Did you go to Puerto Rico? I am so mad that the rice they sell in Puerto Rico is 10X better than the rice we get in NYC. But it's good in that I'd be eating rice constantly if it tasted like Puerto Rican rice.

I do love the Christmas holidays since I count it as TIME FOR THE FOOD OF MY PEOPLES. We make awesome pasteles too and we couldn't make them last year so I am so excited. Everyone in my family loves avocado. I am the rebel loner.

UGH my block. I don't even KNOW. I can think of cute ideas but I try to write them on paper or go to my computer and it's like my brain fizzes out.

I've never written a kink meme prompt but someone had a great one about a fail!lap dance and look, my serious OTP for Blaine is Blaine/Fumbling About Stuff in Particular Kurt so I was like, YES, this is a great idea, wrote barely 300 words and can't write any more even though I want to. It's so sad.

I can't write any long fic at the moment either because I need to finish the finale of my NYC 'verse and when I try working on other things, I get so guilty that I can't even let any new ideas happen. It is baaaaaaad.

I just begged on my lj for drabble prompts to attempt to kickstart something in my head.

I DID. I hiked and swam and ate and saw and made my kids speak in Spanish the whole time and my son spoke in Vosotros to an elderly couple who I thought were going to steal him away, they were so charmed. :D I miss the COFFEE.

Do you want a second set of eyes to poke and prod? I'd be happy to, if you wanted, and no worries if not. (And I NEVER write long fic. Like, once. And it was 25,000. This is out of control - I mean, it's being beta'd by FM, so it's not sloppy, she'd beat me up, but still. I've never done this before. And Now I'm all blocked up, too.)

Drabble prompts, I missed that part. (And Fumbling Blaine is my CRACK. There's not enough of it.)
