Holy crap, Oblivion. I've needed a new game to enjoy, and man, I found it. I still think Fallout 3 is the best game of all time (for someone who has never played any modern games before - last game I played extensively was original Zelda - it does the best job of building up skill set, etc.) but Oblivion is pretty boss. It's a MUCH larger world/game experience, so that's a massive plus. But trying to figure out how to play is not intuitive. There's kind of too much available too soon, imo. But I'll get it! Even if I die every few hours.

Who watched RHoNJ last night?! Good lord, that Kim G is the worst! I would love to actually meet her and give her a piece of my mind. Instead, I'll share it with you in my recap. Lol. Also, I can't be the only one that saw "Cats" in the holiday decor of the Wilkies, can I? So so tacky. I hate that kind of X-mas decor. Simple and heartfelt is best, imo. No gilt feathers and dancing motorized life-sized Santas, pls.

And now for a rec I've been sitting on for a few weeks. flaming_muse has been writing an A-MAY-ZING Kurt/Blaine first love/boarding school fic for a bit now, and I've been fortunate enough to be reading along as she's gone about it. Guys. I really think it's going to be THE story that people talk about, love, rec for a long time. It's sweet, earnest, and so perfectly captures that first time love feeling. <3 A chapter a day is being posted (It's finished!) and I'm forcing her to write a different version from Kurt's POV (which I think she's totally into, because she's awesome like that.)

GO! READ! Than The Sum Of Its Parts Give her feedback! That might grease the wheels to the companion piece, I'm thinking. :)

OK, off to round 2 at the ortho for The Boy (we had dentist this morning, ortho tomorrow, and then I am DONE carting people in this heat for the week. Ugh, it's been atrocious. Day 48 this year over 100. It's not even August yet. The pool is 92 degrees. That's till cooler than the outside air, but still. We're thinking of getting some big blocks of ice to throw in the water in a few weeks, because we're probably going to need it. Some rain would be great. Sigh.)

I am right there with you concerning True Blood. The whole Hot Shot plotline just gives me the creepies, and not the entertaining kind. On the other hand, I *love* drunk Eric. ADORKABLE. Regarding that entire scene with Eric and Alcide nekkid, embarassment of riches. Totally. Not much makes me blush these days but YOW.

Yup. After watching the episode last night my husband (who had pretty much been surfing the net the whole time) asked me why Alan Ball has such a hate on for the Deep South. The show has such a great (albeit weird) touch with so many other issues. I mean, who else could make a possessed baby that adorable and amusing? When it comes to the Hot Shot stuff, though, its just depressing and icky.

I'm going to need a lot more drunk Eric if they keep this up.

It got really ridiculously anti-Southerner in S2, as well. I used to get really pissy about it, but I think most people agree that he's being a dick in those scenes. BUT THEN YES, POSSESSED BABY! With the dirtiest toy ever allowed to be played with, that stuff is hilarious.

The beauty of the DVR: fast forwarding through the crap you don't like. Which means I do that a lot when the episodes were like last night.

I couldn't agree more. I'd love it if they got rid of all the Hotshot/Sam's family/shifter storylines already and focused more on Eric and Sookie and Alcide and... even Bill. I don't care even a little bit about those lame little side stories that Alan Ball seems to love.

I have this theory that Charlaine Harris is actually a Yankee that created a personna of "Southern Woman" to write these books, and Alan Ball hasn't quite figured that out. IDK, some times it's just too insulting, you know?

hahahah. you know she was actually raised in the Mississippi Delta and now lives in Magnolia, Arkansas and trust me, as a person who grew up in AR and lived 30 minutes from the Delta for 7 years...those story lines come from some real life experience. Except for the panther shifting part. hahaha.

NO MORE BABY STORY. I am so uberly creeped out by this story line. I actually had a dream about it the other night. I was totally yelling at the baby, YOU ARE A BABY AND CAN NOT BE EVIL. This bothers me like whoa and damn. DO. NOT. WANT.

I hate Tommy but I totally felt sorry for him. His parents are the worst people ever. But so is Hoyt's momma. So he wasn't really better off.

I hope you manage to stay cool! This heat wave is awful -- it's in the paper this morning. The heat is coming our way tomorrow although I doubt it will be as bad as it has been for you all in TX. Still, we aren't looking forward to it.

Our AC is doing the best it can (we had a complete overhaul a few weeks ago when it conked out. Oy.) I feel so badly for the farmers out here - everything is dying, there's no water for crops of livestock. Just atrocious this year.

Hopefully you'll all be well prepared for any heat that comes your way. (Put the sheets on the bed when they're damp - ooooh, feels lovely to slip into at night after a hot day!)
