Glee last night: I loved it. LOVED. The Gleecap/Recap (which, if I may, is hilarious) is up and waiting for you! Not to mention a delicious cocktail recipe is also over there. And...I'm just going to say it. I think there are people who hate it because they didn't have complete control. This show has been insane from Day 1, I've just never understood how that can be forgotten. Continuity issues, yes, problems with treatment of characters, of course. Of course! But...it's always been like that? IDK, I found this shit hilarious this ep. (And sweet and poignant and weird and OH MY GOD, NO, RACHEL and...any reaction like that tells me they did something right. Just my two cents.)

Southland! HOLY CRAP YOU GUYS. How is this show better with every week?! Come talk to me about society and how we have intrinsic rules, etc (Warning if you don't watch the show: it's violent.)

And then the news about Susan G. Komen came out, how they're separating ties with Planned Parenthood because they're being pressured by Anti-Choice groups. It was born in my hometown Dallas, I've supported them for years as many of you know, through the 3-Day and other fund raising opportunities. I've raised tens of thousands for them, actually. But I can't support them if they're going to cave in to anti-choice bullying.

Well, the pink ribbon shit has gotten to be too prevalent to be useful anymore, anyway, right? I'll be devoting my time and money solely to Planned Parenthood now. I'm good with that.

Now go click over on HDJM and share the love and join in the discussion! GOOD TV = HAPPY ME.

I hope you tell them that you're not supporting them. And why. With documentation of your past support.

Not a bad idea. Thanks for that.

I need a primer to SouthLAnd! Do you know if anyone has written anything for the uninitiated? I can't usually watch a series if I miss the premiere, so I haven't been watching it even though it does look good. Help!

I DO NOT KNOW!! D: We had a recapper pick up halfway through S3, but other than that... I have a southland tag, but that picks up at S2. (The first two seasons were short as they tried to find a home. I would REALLY recommend you watch them, because it's outstanding. They used to have full episodes on TNT.com, maybe check that? Otherwise, Wikipedia does seasonal summaries, but they're encyclopedic by design.)

Good good good. I do believe the Komen folks have shot themselves in the foot here.

And yeah, I think you should tell them.

I was so shocked and disappointed by the Komen thing. I vowed exactly the same thing -- no more money to them, more money instead to PP. :(

Given how conservative the founder's husband is, I think I'm a little surprised that they held out so long. But yes, really a disappointment.

But that just means I channel my energy to an outfit that needs it, right? <3

I really regret the donation I made to Susan G. Komen two weeks ago.

Don't beat yourself up for something you didn't know about, you know?

I got an email from PP yesterday talking about the SGK foundation and i was just *so* angry. I finally called the foundation itself and told the 'media' rep i spoke to exactly how i felt and how disappointing and upsetting it was. Since then, i've signed a few petitions and such, but i dunno if anything will change.

Apparently the new VP of SGK is super-anti-choice and made it very clear when she was campaigning for the job that she wanted them to cut all ties with PP.

Bleh.

*trying to find a SL dl, arrgh*

I'm happily devoting all of the time and resources that I've given to SGK to PP. And making sure they know how much that is. Well, at least we know to not support Pink Ribbon any more. That makes it pretty up front for me.

Yeah. It's just so damn disheartening. I can't believe - well, i can, but i wish i didn't - that one person's political beliefs are trumping thousands of women's health needs.

You saw they've also stopped all funding to any stem cell research that uses embryonic cells?

No more money from me- I'll donate to PP on my own.
